Chapter 260 - 260 - Birds Of Same Breed

After reproaching the girl Hary thought that situation was resolved easily. But who knew that this girl was so persistent.

Lie a fucking sniff dog, she found him where he was and started to annoy him by sprouting shit.

"Look at the soldiers. They are not even taking care of their citizens. What gave them to the right to act so annoying? It's my father's money that they are even enjoying the privileges. Yet they disrespect me so..."

Hary peered at the short girl, imagining a thousand ways to smash the shit out of her. Gritting his teeth he resisted the urge to. If he laid one hand on her then the annoying ones vying for his position will take it as a chance to accuse him and take over his position.

"Look at the ceiling and pipes not aesthetic at all..."

'Take a deep breath, Hary. Take a deep breath. Think of her chatter as a nasty fart... you have no option but to hear it and smell it. But it's not your problem to deal with.' He nodded to himself.

While the girl was looking away, he dashed to the right hallways away from her.

He hid in the corner until the short annoying girl walked away in her high heels.

After checking the rescued captives he had to go check the files of the ones who recently entered her.

Fan Xui had mentioned that the security was very lax when the others had entered. This stupid team did not even bother to give a proper check-up on the survivors before letting them in.

Now he had to redo all their work.

'My head is aching already...'

"Hary~" the dreadful sound of impending doom called for him in a silky smooth voice of a girl.

Without a second thought, he dashed ahead into the hallway.

"Wait~ why are you running?"

Hary took a left turn and ran down the stairs to the third floor. This floor was fully protected. Unauthorized persons were allowed her.

The soldier on the stairs way held her back.

Hary hurriedly ran to the nearby room and stood there panting. "phew... who knew she would give me a good workout."

"You look like you are dying instead of having a post-work-out bliss," another voice said from inside the room.

Hary walked inside towards the testing tables. Prisitsky stood there with a test tube and a microscope.

Upon meeting his gaze, he lifted his glasses over his nose with a small smile. "You look like you were chased by a dog, rather."

"Technically yes, literally no. I feel like half of my life has been wasted away by listening to stupid shit," he mumbled, leaning against the selves.

"Careful, don't touch that," Prisitsky hurriedly pushed him away from the shelf nearby.

Hary peered at the shelf with a frown. There was a glass-encased thing which was covered in a cloth. "What is this? Your specimen?'

He removed the cloth before Prisitsky could stop him.

Inside that casing was a wood bark as big as a watermelon.

"Very boring,"

"For you, but for me is my life's work," Prisitsky defensively glared at him and closed the glass box. "If you are not here to help go back and deal with your dog, Mister Soldier,"

"Nah, I will take a break. My ears deserve that..." he peered at the doctor.

Prisitsky was getting slimmer by the day. Now his neck bones were protruding so prominently.

Unknown to him, Hary reached out and touched them.

"eep! What... what are you doing? Why do you keep touching my neck? Don't mind me asking, are you attracted to me? Let me burst your bubble. I am friendly to everyone, so don't misunderstand my friendliness as anything other than that.... yes I do prefer blonds but not you,"

Hary chuckled softly. "Really? Why not me?"

"I don't like mixing work and pleasure together. Not my style. So better burn those feelings you have for me. They will be of no use,"

Hary shook his head. For a second he forgot that this man was so much similar to that girl out there.

They both resembled a flaunting bird that shows off its bald wings.

'and they both can talk shit without change in expression. tsk,'

"Anyway, I have no feeling for you. Just wanted to hide here for a while until that woman gets fed up waiting there upstairs,"

"Good," Prisitsky smiled widely exposing the small dimple on his right cheek.

Hary silently peered at him. "Did you eat? Why do you keep losing weight?"

At this question, Prisitsky expression went sour. "It's not your concern. I am very healthy and I eat well. It's not your problem at all..."

"Okay okay. Don't have to attack me with your words..."

Even after assuring him, Prisitsky kept glaring his way.

Hary silently looked at the neck bones. His heart could not help but feel pity.

Suddenly the bones he was looking at moved a bit unnaturally.

He moved close and looked at his neck closely. "I just saw something move! What is it?"

Prisitsky stepped back, hiding the back of his neck. "I said it was nothing! Why do you keep annoying me! I have work. Go do what you do and stop distracting me with your blabber!"

Hary backed away. But it was all weird... something was definitely wrong with him but the doctor refused to admit it. "I will find out what's wrong with you."

"I said it's not your problem!"

"It is now. Just you wait. I will find out what you are hiding one way or another," Hary challengingly whispered and walked out of the lab.

Prisitsky stood there panting loudly. The thing under his skin moved once again.

Tears started to roll down his cheeks. "I'm fine... I'm really fine...i.. I just need to get this done... I can do that..."

He hurriedly patted the back of his neck until the movement stopped and continued with his research.

"There is nothing w-wrong with me," he mumbled, looking at the test results.

As of now, he was tasked with finding out the reason for the crop failure. With the intel he collected from outside the wall he was able to identify the cause.

It was the soil.
