"Yue, are you done," his father walked into the room wiping at his eyes.
"Dad, the bed is done. You can sleep now. I will take care of other things as well just get some rest." Zou Yue stood up and pulled his dad towards the bed.
His dad paused midway, glancing at the black box. "Wait, a bit." he tottered over to it and picked it up with difficulty. "Here yours,"
"Mine? What is it?" Zou Yue curiously glanced up at his dad but his father refused to give him any hints. "Surprise, huh? I like it,"
The wooden box was well made, with a golden latch to its side. He snapped it opened and glanced inside.. It was lined with foam and a long stick shaped thing wrapped in silk cloth was neatly nestled in between the foam beads. He gently lifted it up.
"Open it," his father urged him. Even Bohai was curious about what it was.
Zou Yue unrolled the cloth and pulled out a sword. "Oh, my god. Don't tell me.. dad~~~~ he carefully placed it down and jumped onto him. "Thank you so much dad!! Thank you!!!"
"Open it fully, ah!" his father patted his back gently.
Zou Yue ran back to it and pulled it out of its sheath. Inside was a shinning samurai sword. Its top was slightly curved, looking more like a katana. The sword grip was longer than his palm, meaning that it was a two-handed sword.
He weighed it by juggling it a bit. It was slender but heavy at the same time.
"Why would you need this?" Bohai glance at it confusedly. "Is it a collectable?"
"No, it's a necessity." Zou Yue held it in his hand. It put a considerable amount of pressure on his wrist. He decided to hold it with both hands. He turned it to its side, and the sword shone brightly. "Goodness, this is so good,"
He swung it around a little. It created a small swishing sound as it cut through the air. "So awesome~`~~"
But just a few swings later, his shoulders started to ache badly. He sheathed the sword and placed it in the box. "Looks like I need practice,"
"Why do you even need that for?" Bohai mumbled softly.
"It really is a necessity," he repeated once more, unconsciously.
Zou Yue gently caressed the sheath. 'I need to learn how to use it, or else I might sustain some bad injury....'
The sword hilt was neatly bound with a thick cloth but at the end if the sword he noticed a small mark. 'This was definitely used by someone.....'
"Dad, where did you get this from?"
"Your uncle Wen helped me out. It's from some guy in Osaka." He shrugged.
"Osaka? Japan? Oh, do you have his phone number?" He excitedly jumped on the bed.
"Why?" his father laid on the end and covered himself.
"Cuz I want to learn how to use it."
His father sat up stiffly. "Why do you need to learn that, kid? What's going on, huh? Are young kids really planning on forming a group like mafia or what?"
"Dad, don't joke around, huh? Why would I even form a terrorist group?" Zou Yue sat next to him, carefully placing the sword on his lap.
Zou Wei shook his head. "Your uncle Wen said something weird as well. He said some young kid asked on how to import weapons to our country. And the next thing I know, you are asking for a sword. What is going on?"
Zou Yue stuttered.... he hesitantly glanced at Bohai.
Bohai took this as a sign to leave. "I'll see you later. Call me when you need any help."
"Thank you and sorry uncle bo. I'll welcome you for dinner some other time."
"Dont mention it." he patted Yue's shoulders and left the room.
Zou Yue sighed and sat back on the bed. "Dad, you see, I know something very important. That news will shake the world."
"What is it?"
"I know when our world is going to end," Zou Yue gulped. His throat was suddenly dry and his tongue stuck to the top of his mouth. He nervously dwindled with his thumb.
His father peered at him, unblinking. "Yue?"
"dad.. you have to believe me... world is going to end in five months. On may 2nd a huge meteor will hit earth bringing about a deadly virus. This virus will kill almost half the population in just a few days."
His eyes roamed over to his father's. He was listening carefully without any expression. "The ones who died end up rising again. Just like the zombies we are familiar with in movies, they come and hunt for the remaining, living humans. The gnaw bite and eat anything that is human."
His father's brows frowned.
"The worst part is, the humans who are bitten by these infected ones also become infected. They turn into a zombie in a few days' time."
His father's hand slightly trembled.
Zou Yue swiftly held him. "Don't worry, I'll help us survive. I won't let anything happen to you both."
"Yue.... I—I..."
"I know it's unbelievable, but you have to trust me. I have seen it all. I have...lived it all,"
His father paused, glancing at him intently. "What do you mean?"
"Dad.... I lived in the zombie apocalypse for almost ten years."
