Chapter 313 - YOU GAVE UP YOUR DREAMS FOR YAN MOR TEE

LEE JIN HO: Got it, Baby! See you in a bit. 

He stood up and took his coat from the cloak room then leave his office immediately.

"You have to drain the tofu and take all the liquid out of it by pressing it. Give me two sheets of paper towels and I'll show you how it's done" Song Dei Si said. Ho Min Lin took two sheets of paper towel and gave it to Song Dei Si as she put them in the plate and then place the tofu on top. "Give me two more sheets."

Ho Min Lin handed her another two sheets of paper towel. She put them on top of the tofu. 

"So should we press it now?" Tan Ja Nin asked.

"You need something heavy like a cast iron skillet and place it on top of the tofu. Let it sit there for 30 minutes"

"30 minutes?! So what time are we going to have this dish ready?" Ho Min Lin asked and looked at her wristwatch. It was already 5PM.

"Just right in time for our dinner." Song Dei Si said. 

"So while waiting for that, we can start frying the noodles which is best serve with sesame tofu" 

The two ladies nodded and listened attentively to Song Dei Si as they watched her while she was doing it. 

After 30 minutes, they coated the tofu with the cornstarch and started frying them. 

"The key to make it crispier is once you put them on the skillet do not touch it, if you move it inside the pan, it won't have the time to brown at all so let it do it's own thing until it gets brown"

"You're amazing!" Tan Ja Nin can't help but admire Song Dei Si's cooking skills.

"This is what you've learned from the cooking school so you have saved a penny because I am giving you this lesson for free" Song Dei Si laughed as she said it. "But I'm still half-way there. I am still not an expert thou" 

"You're so humble." Ho Min Lin smiled at her. 

"Next time, I will let the two of you do this." 

"Sure!" Ho Min Lin said. "I think it's a no sweat recipe." 

"Uhm. You just need to learn the techniques to get the result you wanted." 

"We can serve the tofu with rice too right?" Tan Ja Nin asked. 

"Yep" Song Dei Si answered. 

"Oh wait, let's take a photo. I will post it in my Weibo."  Tan Ja Nin said. 

She took her phone out and took a selfie with them. She posted it in her Weibo with the caption 'Cooking 101 with my bestfriends'

As expected, her post have thousands of likes after 5 minutes of posting it. 

"Whoa! You are really popular now. Look at that number of followers." Ho Min Lin said. "You just posted a simple selfie photo and it received a lot of likes already? While when I posted this kind of stuff, I only got a hundred likes. How to be you?" 

"Aren't you proud? You have a celebrity friend now?" Tan Ja Nin said with a smug on her voice. She looked at Ho Min Lin from head to toe and uttered "You could really pass as a fashion model. Why don't you give it a try. You have a good fashion sense and you rock everything you wear" 

"Na-ah!" Said Ho Min Lin. "Limelight isn't for me. I would rather be a simple wife to Tan Ji Nan and a doting mother to our future children." 

Tan Ja Nin shrugged her shoulder. "If you say so!" 

Song Dei Si smiled. She knew Ho Min Lin and she could not agree more with her statement. Her bestfriend always wanted to be just a simple housewife, taking care of her husband and kids. She didn't wish for a fancy life. Maybe because she was already living like a princess since she was a child and got fed up from getting too much attention. So she tried to live her life as simple as possible. 

"Until when is your cooking class?" Tan Ja Nin suddenly asked Song Dei Si.

"I still have two months to go!" 

"After the cooking class, what do you plan next?" 

"I'll be putting up my own resto." 

"You won't be coming back to the corporate world anymore?" 

Song Dei Si nodded. 

"But I think you have a knack of running a conglomerate" Tan Ja Nin said. 

"But that's not what her heart d_e_s_i_r_es. She only stayed in the corporate world like I do because we don't have a choice. Me, I am staying because my parents company will be handed down to me because I am their only heiress. While Dei Si stayed because of Yan Mor Tee." Ho Min Lin answered.

"You really sacrifice your own happiness just for Yan Mor Tee." Tan Ja Nin said and admired her for that because she thought she could not give up her dreams just like Song Dei Si did for Yan Mor Tee. "You gave up your dreams for Yan Mor Tee." 

"I didn't give it up. I just sidestepped it."

"How about you, can you give up your showbiz career for Lee Jin Ho?" Ho Min Lin suddenly asked her.

Tan Ja Nin thought of it...

Song Dei Si and Ho Min Lin were waiting for her answer when the doorbell rang. 

"Who could it be?" Ho Min Lin said. 

"Might be Lu Jiaosheng or Lee Jin Ho." Song Dei Si answered. 

"But it just 5:30PM, why would they be here so early." Ho Min Lin said but started to stride off to the front door to check who was it. 

It was Lee Jin Ho. 

"You're so early. Your brothers are still out playing." 

Ho Min Lin said. "Come in." 

"That's okay. My girlfriend is here so I can spend time with her." Lee Jin Ho answered and gave Ho Min Lin a smile.

"But we are having a cooking lessons now." 

"I can just watch you guys!"
