Chapter 191 - A Horrible Misunderstanding

Chapter 191 A Horrible Misunderstanding

“Please spare me. I am willing to leave New York. I swear to God that as long as you let me off today, I will never return to New York again.”

“Didn’t Aren say that he doesn’t want to see me in New York? I can guarantee that I won’t appear in front of Aren for the rest of my life. Please let me off.”

Miles knelt and crawled up to Luke, looking at him pleadingly. If his hands weren’t still tied behind his back, he might have been hugging Luke’s legs by now.

Looking at Miles, who was kneeling at his feet like a dog begging for pity, Luke said coldly, “That won’t do.”

“Master Aren will be very unhappy with me for letting you off so easily. But don’t worry, I won’t kill you.”

As if having just entered heaven from hell, Miles’s gloomy eyes lit up, and his tense body relaxed upon knowing that he wouldn’t die.

“Thank you, you’re such a good person. God will bless you.”

Hearing that, Luke sneered.

A good person? Was he?

If those people who Luke killed before heard this, they would definitely crawl out of hell in anger.

Luke shifted his gaze to the torture devices on the wall. Then, he fixed his gaze on a long whip with a hook.

“You can save your praises for later.”

“Although this room is very soundproof, I don’t like noise, so you have to shut your mouth later and not make too much noise. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee if you can still leave New York.”

Because of Luke’s words, Miles, who had just relaxed, tensed up again. He watched as Luke walked towards the corner where the torture devices were placed, and his eyes couldn’t help but widen. Even his body started to tremble.

He had already realized what would happen later, but still, he quickly sat up and asked, “Sir, what are you doing?”

Luke didn’t speak but answered with the whip in his hand.

The whip quickly tore open a piece of skin from Miles’s body. The tearing pain made Miles scream.

Luke frowned in displeasure and swung the whip again. The howling screams Miles let out were all blocked completely by the sound-proof materials. Outside the room, it was absolutely quiet.

At this moment, Jocelyn was already following Aren to the Brown family.

The last time she came to the Brown family was when the two of them were signing the contract. At that time, she didn’t have a chance to look at this house. This time, when she came here, she felt that it was both unfamiliar and familiar.

While Jocelyn was observing the house, Old Madam Brown came into view with a sprinkler next to the stairs.

When Old Madam Brown saw Jocelyn standing behind Aren, an amiable smile appeared on her face.

At this moment, Old Madam Brown had completely forgotten about the flowers that were waiting for her to be watered in the garden. All her attention was attracted to Jocelyn. She handed the sprinkler in her hand to the maid and quickly walked up to Jocelyn.

As for her grandson, Aren, he had already been brushed away by her hand.

“Good girl, Grandma hasn’t seen you in a long time. I’m really happy to see you here today.”

Old Madam Brown held Jocelyn’s hand. Although she was old, her eyes were still clear and bright. The way she looked at Jocelyn was like a warm sun, making Jocelyn smile too.

She liked the way Old Madam Brown looked at her. This kind of gaze made her feel that her life was not bad and that life was suddenly worth living. Unfortunately, she had a sore throat and could not say anything pleasing to Old Madam Brown to make her happy.

Old Madam Brown suddenly shifted her gaze to Jocelyn’s throat. Looking at the purple marks, she turned her head and looked at Aren with blame.

“What happened to her neck? Why did you let her get hurt like that? What exactly happened between the two of you?”

Jocelyn did not think that it was Aren’s fault that she was injured. On the contrary, if not for him, she might not even have the chance to stand here alive.

Therefore, before Aren could explain, Jocelyn hugged Old Madam Brown’s arm and shook it gently. Her long eyelashes were fluttering like the wings of a butterfly.

Jocelyn glanced at Aren and then waved his hand, implying that this had nothing to do with him.

However, Old Madam Brown did not understand what Jocelyn meant. She even misunderstood it. “Are you saying that Aren did not care about you?”
