Chapter 185 - An Unexpected Call From Keller

Chapter 185 An Unexpected Call From Keller

While Jocelyn was stuck, not knowing what to do, Aren’s phone started to vibrate. The sound of the vibration was especially loud in this silent ward.

Looking at Aren’s eyebrows moving, Jocelyn could tell that he was about to wake up. Panic, Jocelyn quickly closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep.

As soon as Jocelyn closed her eyes, Aren opened his.

At this moment, Aren looked especially energetic, probably because he had just had a nap. Looking at Jocelyn who was in his arms like a rabbit, he was in a better mood.

Aren took out his phone and frowned as soon as he saw Keller calling him.

He carefully removed his arm from under Jocelyn’s neck and quietly got up from the bed. After confirming that he did not wake Jocelyn up, he walked towards the door.

When Jocelyn, who was pretending to be asleep, heard the door close, she opened her eyes. Looking at the other side of the bed, she blushed.

Grabbing the blanket, Jocelyn slowly covered herself with it like a snail. After smelling a smell that belonged to Aren on the bed, Jocelyn stuck her nose out. It’s just too stuffy with my nose covered. Yeah, that’s why I stuck out my nose, she thought to herself.

While Jocelyn was mumbling to herself, Aren walked to the end of the corridor and picked up the phone.

As soon as the call was picked up, Keller’s lively voice came from the other end. “Why did it take you so long to pick up the call this time? It’s not like you at all. Are you sleeping with your Miss Jocelyn?”

Aren fell silent.

The silence from the other end of the line made Keller, who was sitting on the sofa on the other end of the phone, quickly straightened his back, and his eyes were wide with shock.

“No way. I was just saying it casually. Am I actually right?” “Are you in love?”

Keller’s excited voice reached Aren’s ears through the microphone, and his ears turned red almost instantly.

“Enough. You are not calling me just to say that, are you?” Aren used an impatient voice to cover it up.

Although he could not see Aren’s expression through the phone, hearing Aren’s voice, Keller could already imagine his blushed face. Keller was so amused by the image of Aren in his mind that he laughed.

“If you have nothing to say, I’m hanging up.”

At Aren’s threat, Keller stopped laughing. He adjusted himself and changed the expression on his face to one of seriousness.

“I called you because I have something to ask you. Didn’t you say last time that you were going to hold a party for Miss Jocelyn? I’m calling to ask you when you’re available so that I can book the venue.”

“By the way, do you have any requirements on the venue of the gathering?” He asked curiously.

At the mention of the gathering, Aren turned to look at the closed door. Thinking how Jocelyn still couldn’t talk and there were wounds all over her body, Aren couldn’t help but frown. “Let’s postpone the party for a while. I don’t have time lately.”

Curious, Keller asked, “Is it because you don’t have time, or is it because Diana is back in the country?”

Hearing Diana’s name, Aren felt like his body had been frozen, and his restless heart calmed down.

“What does that have to do with her?”

Aren felt inexplicably frustrated. However, he could not find the source of his frustration at all, so he could only pace back and forth on the spot to ease it.

“Is it? The news that you and Diana went to the cafe to meet in private has spread among us. Everyone in the circle is now discussing whether you’re going to get back together with Diana and if you’ll abandon Miss Jocelyn.”

“By the way, they are also betting on when Miss Jocelyn will cancel the engagement with you.”

“So, since we’re good friends, do you want to tell me the answer in advance?”

Hearing that the news of his meeting with Diana had spread like wildfire, Aren frowned.

The frustration he was experiencing gradually turned into a sense of suffocation, as if he was pulled into a hot summer day, and the air was twisted and shaking because of the high temperature.

And he was standing under the scorching sun, trying hard to absorb the little oxygen left in the air.
