Chapter 114 - Telling The Truth

Chapter 114 Telling The Truth

Little did Mrs. Wilson know that in just a few seconds, a 40-episode series had already appeared in Luke’s mind. He had even divided the two of them into opposing camps, and there was no way Luke would treat his opponent kindly.

“Mrs. Wilson, if Miss Jocelyn is really not feeling well, I can walk to her room and tell her about it face to face.” Luke had a polite smile on his face, but his eyes were cold. He sized up Mrs. Wilson like a magnifying glass.

Luke’s inquisitive gaze made Mrs. Wilson begin to feel uncomfortable, as if thousands of ants were running all over her body.

Mrs. Wilson squirmed in her seat uncomfortably. At the same time, she wanted Maria to hurry downstairs and not waste too much time upstairs.

She could not hold on anymore.

“Madam is not letting Miss Jocelyn come out to see me, and not letting me go see Miss Jocelyn either. Is Miss Jocelyn not at home at all and Madam is just stalling for time here?”

Luke only suggested one possibility, but there was another. They had already detained Miss Jocelyn and she had lost her freedom.

She didn’t allow him to see Miss Jocelyn and was still stalling for time.

Mrs. Wilson did this because she wanted to make him hate Jocelyn. She wanted to make him say mean things about Jocelyn in front of Aren, and she wanted him to put in a good word for Maria so that Aren would have a good opinion of her.

On the other hand, for various reasons, Luke would be hated by Aren and eventually get fired.

A complete chain of logic was formed in Luke’s mind.

Mrs. Wilson’s face stiffened. She was about to say something to salvage the situation when she heard the sound of high heels on the floor.

Mrs. Wilson was delighted and immediately turned to look at the staircase.

Luke followed Mrs. Wilson’s gaze and looked up at the second floor.

The first thing that appeared in Luke’s vision was a pair of Mary Jane shoes inlaid with pearls, and then a pair of snow-white calves. The hem of the dress made her legs look especially slender. “Mother, is there a guest?” At the same time, her well-dressed and lively face appeared in Luke’s line of sight.

Maria saw Luke sitting in the living room. She covered her mouth in surprise and finally walked down the stairs.

“I didn’t expect to see Mr. Luke here. This is such a surprise.”

Maria jogged two steps at first, then seemed to realize something and slowed down. A shy smile appeared on her face.

She walked up to Mrs. Wilson and grabbed her arm. She looked like a quiet and shy girl who was very compatible with her cute clothes.

“Mr. Luke must have come to the Wilson house because of Master Aren’s instructions, right?”

Maria pretended to be cute and blinked at Luke.

Looking at Maria’s heavy makeup, Luke felt disgusted.

He didn’t know if Miss Maria had put something on her mouth or if she had stolen something to eat upstairs. Her mouth was so shiny that it looked like it had been painted with greasy food.

At this thought, Luke subconsciously shifted his gaze to Maria’s waist.

Unlike Jocelyn’s slender and curvaceous waist, Maria’s waist was a typical straight waist.

No matter how skinny she became, the curves of her waist remained straight.

The corners of Maria’s mouth twitched, and she asked, “Mr. Luke, why are you looking at me like that? Is there something wrong with me? Or am I dressed too nicely that I distracted

you?”

At the end of her sentence, Maria sounded pleased. Clearly, she was confident in her outfit today.

However, Luke shook his head. “You’re mistaken. You don’t look good in that dress at

all.”
