Chapter 78 - News About Her

Thope Jocelyn didn’t see the news on her phone, Aren prayed.

‘The impression he had of Jocelyn was that she wasn’t particularly a strong girl. Although she had some claws and teeth, a rabbit was still a rabbit, and its small body could not withstand heavy burden.

If Jocelyn found out about what happened online, she would be very sad.

At the thought that Jocelyn might cry her eyes out because of this, or she might even hide in the corner in fear of the bombardment of messages and calls on her phone, Aren got a sharp stabbing pain in his heart.

Luke got up from the ground and picked up the phone without hesitation.

He prayed that the cracks wouldn’t affect the phone.

Perhaps he was praying sincerely, or perhaps God had heard the call in his heart, but the cracked phone could still be used normally.

While Luke heaved a sigh of relief, he made a call and quickly located Jocelyn as he walked out of the room.

With Luke gone, the large VIP ward looked especially cold and depressing.

Aren endured the pain and sat on the hospital bed. He stayed for a moment, but his heart could not calm down. He even felt that sitting there was torture.

Since he could not sit still, Aren put on a jacket and walked out of the VIP ward.

If not for the fact that his face was still a little pale and that his lips were pale, and that he was still wearing a patient’s gown, no one could tell that when he was sent over today, his back was all covered in blood.

He almost went into shock because of losing too much blood. Fortunately, the blood transfusion at the hospital was timely.

Aren followed the passage of the VIP ward and was about to take the elevator to the garden downstairs for some air. When he landed on the twelfth floor, the elevator door opened and he happened to bump into Soro, who had just said goodbye to the nurse.

“Oh, Aren is here too. Is he here to see Miss Jocelyn?” Soro said to himself when he saw Aren in the elevator.

Just when he was wondering if he should go up and greet Aren, he found that the elevator door was actually slowly closing.

At that moment, as if there was a spring under Soro’s feet, he quickly bounced towards the elevator door and blocked it from closing with one hand.

Soro stood outside the elevator and looked at Aren in the eye, but he did not want to go into the elevator, which made Aren frown unhappily.

Aren thought to himself, “It really sucks today. Bad things happen one after another and now someone is even stopping me from going to the garden.”

“Do you want to come in the elevator or not? If not, move away!” Aren couldn’t tolerate it anymore and ordered Soro, who was blocking the elevator door.

“Sorry.” Soro subconsciously took a step back and revealed an embarrassed and forced smile.

“Master Aren, are you here to see Miss Jocelyn?”

Soro, who had been looking at Aren’s face, did not notice that Aren was wearing a hospital gown.

Hearing that from Soro, Aren hastened to ask. His tone was stiff and carried a hint of anxiety.

“Why is Jocelyn here at the hospital too? What happened to her? Did someone hurt her?”

Soro realized that Aren wasn’t in the hospital because of Jocelyn. This made Soro even more embarrassed.

He had a feeling that if he told Aren what happened, something bad might happen to him. However, if he didn’t tell Aren about it, something bad might happen right now.

So, looking at Aren’s frightening gaze, Soro said in a trembling voice, “Miss Jocelyn is running a high fever, so I took her here. The doctor is treating her now.”

Soro explained Jocelyn’s situation in a few words, but he deliberately concealed some information.

His intuition told him that it was best not to tell Aren about the whole situation.

But he forgot that once Aren stepped into Jocelyn’s ward and saw the bruises on her face, he would immediately know what happened.

Aren walked straight out of the elevator. As he passed Soro, Soro automatically dodged to the side and made way for Aren.

Looking at Aren’s departing figure, Soro said to himself, “I didn’t expect Master Aren to care so much about Miss Jocelyn. It seems like I made the right bet.”
