Mr. Wilson looked around the living room and saw no sign of Jocelyn, so he asked, “Where is Jocelyn? Tell her to come out. I bought her a gift too.”

“What?”

Amoment ago, Maria was still admiring her new wristwatch. The next moment, Maria exclaimed in shock.

“Daddy, I can’t believe you brought something for Jocelyn!”

This was something that Mr. Wilson had never done before. Not only was Maria shocked, but even Mrs. Wilson looked shocked.

However, she quickly returned to her senses.

“Jocelyn is not back yet. We don’t know where she is. She won’t even answer our calls. Maria and I are worried about her.”

“But she is probably out with a friend and forgets the time.”

With a frown, Mrs. Wilson said worriedly.

“Lwonder what you brought for Jocelyn. Why don’t you let me keep it? When I see her, I’ll give her the gift.”

Hearing that, Mr. Wilson flew into a fury.

“Going out with my friend? Didn’t she know what time it is now? This is unforgivable. I must punish her when she gets back!”

“Call her. Tell her to come back immediately,” Mr. Wilson said angrily like a loaded machine gun.

And every shot from the machine gun was deadly.

“Doesn’t she know what her identity is now? It’s only been a few days that I haven’t disciplined her and she gets wild like a horse! How dare she stay outside overnight without informing me?”

Mr. Wilson’s words made Maria and Mrs. Wilson look at each other.

Identity?

What identity? What did he mean by that?

Mrs. Wilson thought about what Mr. Wilson meant when he said that.

Maria was not as quick on the uptake as Mrs. Wilson. Her thinking was more straightforward.

‘When Mr. Wilson mentioned Jocelyn’s identity, Maria thought he was referring to Jocelyn’s identity as his elder daughter, and her eyes turned red.

Her grip on the watch tightened.

The diamonds embedded around the dial gave Maria a stinging sensation.

Jocelyn! It was Jocelyn again. Why was Jocelyn everywhere, pestering her like a lonely ghost?

It seemed like the beating wasn’t enough. Otherwise, Jocelyn would not dare to play some tricks to make her father remember her again.

No! Daddy didn’t like her. He was just deceived by her.

Maria lowered her head and an idea struck her.

Jocelyn, who was sleeping on the cold ground and unaware of anything, was curled up into a ball, trying to get some warmth with her thin clothes.

However, it was all in vain. Apart from her body temperature getting higher and higher, she did not feel any warmth at all.

In the living room, Mr. Wilson shouted angrily to get his assistant to call Jocelyn. Maria, who knew that Jocelyn was at home, wanted to stop him, but Mrs. Wilson grabbed her wrist.

“Mother, if we call her, we will be found out,” Maria said worriedly.

However, Mrs. Wilson said calmly, “Believe in your mother, okay?”

Mr. Wilson did not notice their interaction.

Bard found Jocelyn’s number but when he called, her phone was off.

Apparently, even luck was on Maria’s side.

But that was not enough. Maria wanted Jocelyn to be more miserable, preferably kicking her out of the Wilson family and into the abyss, so that she couldn’t never get back on her feet ever again. Only then would Maria be satisfied.

Maria went up to Mr. Wilson to hold his arm, trying to cool him down.

“Daddy, don’t be angry with her. Being angry with her is not good for your health. In fact, when Daddy is not at home, Jocelyn is often away all night, but she gets away with it every time. That’s why she is getting very wild.”

Maria spoke ill of Jocelyn in front of Mr. Wilson in an innocent tone.

Hearing that Jocelyn often did not come home at night, Mr. Wilson was furious.

However, Maria was still not satisfied. She kept glancing at Mr. Wilson, looking like she wanted to say something but hesitated.

‘As expected, Mr. WIlson noticed it.

“What else did she do?” Mr. Wilson questioned unhappily.

“Actually… I think I know why she didn’t come back so late. It’s just that…” Maria gently bit her lip, taking a pause to intentionally arouse Mr. Wilson’s curiosity.

“Just what?”

“If I tell you, I am afraid you will be angry,” Maria said, looking troubled.
