Jocelyn said nothing, only stared at Aren quietly with her large eyes.

Her gaze was like a burning fire that kept setting Aren on fire. “What’s with that look? You don’t believe me?” Aren asked angrily.

Looking at Aren’s angry face, Jocelyn wanted to nod and tell him, “Yes, I don’t believe you.”

However, after some thought, Jocelyn shook her head and swallowed her words.

Although Aren did look like he was jealous, she didn’t think their relationship was there yet where he would be jealous of her because of somebody, so it should be just a misunderstanding.

Having convinced herself, Jocelyn said, “Sorry, that’s probably just a misunderstanding.”

This was the answer Aren wanted to hear.

However, when Jocelyn said what he wanted, Aren did not feel happy at all. Instead, he felt a mix of emotions surging up from the bottom of his heart all at once.

It was as if someone was punching on his heart, Aren started to lose his breath.

This strong unfamiliar emotion came suddenly and violently like a huge wave that swept Aren into it, making him rise and fall, unable to escape.

Aren put a hand to his heart.

Because of confusion, he looked especially stern.

Jocelyn noticed the change in Aren’s face, and thought that he was injured and his wound was uncomfortable.

This made Jocelyn nervous, and she immediately forgot about everything else.

She said nervously to Luke, “Mr. Luke, can you drive faster? Aren seems to be in pain.”

Luke’s expression became solemn, and his gaze sharper.

“Sir, Miss, please buckle up. I’m going to start accelerating.” Luke said in the driver’s seat.

“alright,” Jocelyn replied and subconsciously turned around to help Aren buckle up. However, Aren had already grabbed the safety belt with one hand. His actions were smooth and clean, not giving Jocelyn a chance to intervene.

It seems like he doesn’t need my help. That’s true. Even if a lion is injured, it’s impossible for it to become a cat, Jocelyn thought.

The moment Jocelyn buckled up, the car sped forward like an arrow leaving the bow. On the straight road, it kept surpassing the cars in front.

Luke sped along the road as a racer.

With this speed, the originally half an hour journey became less than ten minutes.

This was the first time Jocelyn sat in such a fast car. This made her legs go weak the moment she got out of the car. If Aren did not reach out his hand in time, she might have fallen to the ground.

“Thank you!” With a pale face, Jocelyn resisted the urge to vomit and thanked Aren weakly.

“You’re welcome.”

Aren withdrew his hand. After a moment of hesitation, he took out the phone that he had taken from Jocelyn and handed it to her.

“Tm already at the hospital. I don’t need you here anymore. You can go wherever you want.”

Jocelyn took the phone, looked at Aren, and then at Luke, who was beside him, and nodded.

“alright, I’ll get going then. Call me if you need me,” Jocelyn said to Luke and left without hesitation.

With Luke by Aren’s side, he should be fine. On the other hand, Eliza was still waiting for her and didn’t receive a reply from her.

At the thought of Eliza’s anxious expression, Jocelyn couldn’t help but walk faster.

Aren looked at Jocelyn’s departing figure and gritted his teeth.

Does this woman have a heart? She actually left me alone outside the hospital and can’t wait to leave. This is really outrageous!

“Sir, didn’t you ask Miss Jocelyn to leave? She seems to have an appointment with a friend. She might be on her way now,” Luke explained.

“Whose assistant are you?” Looking at Luke, who was speaking up for Jocelyn, he felt even angrier.

“Tm the one who gives you the salary. I don’t want to hear you speak up for anyone from your mouth.” Aren glared at Luke and warned him..
