Luke drove past the cars and then sped on, passing the congested road.

At this moment, Aren, who was diving into his work, suddenly raised his head and looked out of the window.

On either side of the road, there were all kinds of plants and flowers. He felt refreshed after looking at them.

As he raised his hand to rub his eyes, Aren seemed to have seen something from the corner of his eyes so that he suddenly stopped and stared at something outside the window with his eyes wide open.

“Luke, stop the car, stop the car…”

Aren shouted without a moment of hesitation.

Stunned for a moment, Luke instinctively stepped on the brakes and parked the car by the roadside. “Master Aren, what happened?”

Without answering Luke, Arun opened the door and got out of the car.

The surrounding cars sped past, and no one noticed the girl among the trees who was holding a hammer, on guard against a group of thugs.

But Aren saw her.

With just one glance, he recognized her.

Her long hair was disheveled, and she was holding a hammer with both hands as she leaned against the tree. She was like a frightened hedgehog, vigilantly looking at the men and women who were dressed like gangsters.

Though she was cornered slowly by them, there was a clear sign of fortitude in her eyes.

At that moment, his heart seemed to have skipped a beat.

Aren felt inexplicably heartache at the sight of the girl who, though looked frail, didn’t seem to back off in the face of her enemies.

He was all too familiar with that pair of unwavering eyes.

It was the determination and stubbornness that a person would show when they were in despair and helplessness.

It was like the look in his eyes when he took over the Brown family from a young age and faced the wolves and tigers around him. Seeing Jocelyn now, Aren felt like he was looking at his childhood.

How helpless he was!

This was the other side of Jocelyn that Aren had never seen before, the helpless and lonely side. Aren felt a heaviness in his chest and ran towards her without thinking.

“Wait… WHat?”

Before Luke could react, Aren had already sprinted over.

Keller hurried after him. He could tell by the grim look on Aren’s face that something bad was happening.

‘As Aren was sprinting towards Jocely who was retreating step by step, cornered by her enemy, he frowned tightly.

If something happened to her

Where could he possibly get a fiancée that could match her.

At this thought, his heart skipped a beat!

Because he knew that no one else could give him a sense of peace and tranquility other than Jocelyn.

And as weird as it might sound, he liked Jocelyn because of the indifferent attitude with which she treated him.

The car stopped by the roadside, and Luke quickly got out of the car and ran towards where Young Master Aren was running. Then, he spotted Jocelyn in the distance and said in surprise, “Young Master, look, that’s Miss Jocelyn!”

“Don’t come over…”

At this moment, Jocelyn was holding a hammer in her hand. She bit her lips tightly, and her frail body seemed even frailer in the night. She seemed to be determined to fight this battle alone.

But she was too weak. Given the distance between her and the gangsters, she could have run away without getting caught. However, as she ran, she accidentally fell.

‘When she got up, the people behind her had already caught up with her.

The lucky thing was that she had a hammer with her. The gangsters were slightly deterred by the hammer and did not dare to go near her for the time being.

And Jocelyn knew very well that she would not be able to hold on for long, because more gangsters were on the way. They would definitely not let her off easily. She had to find a way to leave this place as soon as possible.

She wanted to call someone, but she did not know who to call. And the people around her had been eyeing her threateningly without giving her time to call. In the end, she still had to rely on herself!

“We don’t mind spending the night like this with you. Let’s see who can last longer.”

One of the women with short hair sneered.

The other man laughed as well. “Do you think you can leave after hitting our Miss Vivian? When our boss comes later, just wait and see how you die. Hahaha…”

Did they actually call for more people?

It seemed that what the driver said was true. The woman who called Vivian was the sister of the head of a local gang. Apparently, Vivian got used to bullying people in the neighborhood so that when she got punched in the face one day, she couldn’t get over it and had to take revenge no matter what.

Damn it!

Jocelyn gritted her teeth. If more gangsters arrived later, she definitely couldn’t escape anymore.

“What should I do?” Jocelyn thought anxiously, her eyes filled with anger and indignation.
