Collin's Otherworld Adventure - Chapter 170 - Paula's Dolls

I stare at Paula and strategize in my head.

"as long as I can catch her off guard, and avoid her touch, I could win this."

Paula looks into my eyes and gives me a warning.

"it's over Hope, there is no way you're winning this."

"don't listen to her, just focus on taking care of her, so that Selshruuk, Felnor and my Father can be free from her grasp."

she chants something to herself and suddenly a huge doll that looks exactly like a Griffin appears from thin air right on front of her, I stare at it in awe and ask myself.

"how did she manage to turn a vicious creature like the Griffin into one of her dolls?"

Paula notices my reaction and asks as she gently grooms on it's wings.

"you are probably wondering how I got this Griffin?"

even though I don't say a thing, she rambles on.

"my father bought it for when I was young, and then one day when it was gone, everybody just thought it had escaped and returned back to the wild."

she snickers and continues.

"but little did they know, that a young child like myself added a wild and vicious creature into her doll collection."

I think to myself.

"I need to be extra careful now, I wasn't expecting her to have something like this up her sleeve."

Paula then chants.

the Griffin that was standing still as a statue, begins to move around, Paula then points at me and says.

"attack!"

The Griffin shrieks and comes flying at me, and right beside it, Paula is doing the same, and as I fly away up into the air, I think to myself.

"I need to get rid of that Griffin first, or else it will make taking down Paula more difficult."

the Griffin closes in on me at an incredible speed and attacks with it's razor sharp claws, I take a short moment to dodge it's attack and while I'm doing that, I notice Paula in my peripheral vision,

getting ready to attack my with the same whip she took out earlier, I then shout.

"mobile magic barrier."

I think to myself.

"let's see how my defenses hold up against them."

the Griffin finally lands a hit on me after slightly focusing on keeping track if Paula, but it's claws bounce off my green spherical shield, and then it let out a ear piercing shriek that causes my shield to vibrate, I then think to myself.

"I'm lucky that my shield held up, or my hearing would have been damaged by that shriek."

"good, now I can get rid of that Griffin."

I aim my open palm at the Griffin that is flying towards me and I shout.

"paralysis blast!"

I fire a purple ball of mist at the Griffin, and it immediately freezes up and falls down to the ground upon my attack landing on it, I then hear Paula shout.

"what the hell did you do to my Griffin?!"

she flies down to check on it, I then breathe a sigh of relief.

"good it worked, now I can focus all my attention on Paula."

I then aim my open palm at her and chant.

"paralysis blast!"

"mana shift."

and quickly follow up by chanting.

"move."

I appear right next to her, but it seems like she was expecting me to do that, as she grins and chants.

"swarm of dolls."

me, I then panic.

"oh no, she used this spell to overwhelm Cecile during their fight."

I quickly fly up into the air and shout.

my fireballs left the stuffed animals into a burnt crisp, Paula then says to me with a completely frustrated voice.

"you are very annoying."

I chuckle and reply sarcastically.

"thanks."

she sighs.

"well I still have more dolls in my collection for you to play with."

I float back down to the ground and put away my wings to conserve my mana, I then think to myself.

"If she had a Griffin in her collection, then I need to be prepared for whatever she throws at me."

she chants to herself.

"Stalker come forth."

a full grown life sized Stalker doll, suddenly appears in front of her, I then ask myself.

"how many of these dangerous animals does she have in her collection?"

she chants.

"animated doll!"

she points at me and says.

"attack."

as the Stalker charges me with it's claws ready to rip me apart, I chant.

"mana shift."

I send a couple of mana signatures around her, and immediately upon detecting them, she looks around in complete paranoia, hoping to get me, when I move in to attack, but unfortunately for her I have other plans.

"this Stalker shouldn't be a problem with my silver eyes."

I charge towards the Stalker, who lunges from a great distance using it's hind legs, I duck down, making it miss it's attack, I then land a blow to it's head using a heavy roundhouse kick, while the Stalker falls down to the ground shrieking in pain, Paula shouts at me.

"how dare you use such cheap tricks to distract me!"

she then chants.

"Bear, Wolf, and Cave Tarantula come forth."

as a menacing brown bear, a white furred wolf and a giant cave tarantula appear in front of her, I grin to myself.

"she left herself open."

I focus on the mana signature closest to her amd chant.

"move."

after appearing right next to her, I punch Paula straight in the face, knocking her out almost immediately, I then say to myself.

"I can't let her recover."

I point my open palm at her and chant.

"paralysis blast."
