Chapter 103 - This Is The End

Me and Rosie fly towards Rozlania at an incredible speed, and while we soar through the night sky, my mind wonders.

"Ying must have been completely shocked that his most powerful spell didn't even damage Vernon."

I get a closer look at Rosie who is carrying me in Gargoyle form and as I stare at the grotesque features like the gray skin, bat like wings, claws for hands and the eyes glowing bright red, I start getting a heavy heart, thinking about how she ended up turning into a vampire apprentice. We quickly arrive above the capital city Grezia and my anger rose to new levels as I see the city being completely destroyed by many vampire underlings and various vampire lords flying around in their gargoyle form, I then shout to Rosie, hoping she can hear me.

"let's go down there and put a stop to this!"

after hearing that she quickly flies downward at free fall speed, and I cling to her bulky arms while I scream.

"oh shit!"

we fly pass magic knights firing various types of spell at the underlings and apprentices, I then think to myself.

"why did the vampire lords decide to attack multiple kingdoms, I can't be the reason why they did."

we land on top of a building that is still intact and as I stare out at all of the buildings crumbling down with destructive spells and many innocent human civilians being slaughtered by the vampires and the magic knights struggling to fight off the apprentices in their gargoyle forms, Rosie transforms back and says.

"don't worry darling I'll help you fight them off."

I respond.

"thank you, but I have so many questions that I've

been wanting to ask, since the first time you made contact with me."

"in due time I will, but for now, we need to put a stop to this."

I nod and ask

"okay then, but can you promise that you will tell me?"

she just giggles when I said that and as she jumps down from the building, she shouts in a teasing manner.

"if you beat me to the bottom, I'll make you the promise!"

I look over the edge and shout.

"I can't jump down from here I'll die!"

I then remember that I have a spell that can maybe help me, I take a deep breath and chant.

"self reinforcement."

"damn you Rosie, are you really going to make me so crazy things."

I breathe in and out, a couple times until I finally gather up the courage to finally jump off the building without hesitating, and as I'm falling I think to myself.

"hopefully this physical spell can protect me from hard falls."

I land on my feet, not feeling any pain from the impact, I then deactivate the spell before the physical backlash hits me, and as I look around for Rosie, a vampire underling jumps at me, and as I dodge it, I chant.

"silver eyes."

the vampire goes for another attack, but it couldn't do anything as I quickly pin it down with my foot, and stomp on it's head, Rosie reappears

before me clapping.

"you look so cool when you fight like that darling."

I deactivate silver eyes and asked annoyed.

"why did you leave me up there?"

she answers.

"because I knew you had an amazing spell that would help you come down."

I respond still annoyed.

"whatever, if you are just going to mess around and tease me this while time then I'll just fight on my own."

she sighs as she replies.

"I'm sorry, I just missed you, and I wanted to get along with you, like how we used to."

I reply.

"I get it, but things are different now, you are a vampire now, and I have a family of my own."

she responds.

"yeah you have a point, I don't have any right trying to act like nothing has changed."

I try to respond, but she stops me.

"go look for your family and check if they are okay."

I ask feeling guilty.

"what about you?"

she answers.

"I'll cut down their numbers, so that the magic knights can at least focus their efforts on the apprentices."

she quickly leaves, before I even get a chance to say anything, and I ask myself.

"was I to harsh?"

as I run through the streets of Grezia, witnessing all the destruction and chaos happening around the city, I think to myself.

"this is whole scenario reminds me of those apocalyptic movies used to watch in my previous life."

I keep running towards the palace, hoping that the destruction there is at least minimal."

arrive at the palace and breathe a sigh of relief seeing that the palace is still standing with almost no visible damage, but the fighting is also

happening outside in the courtyard with the heroes I've been training and the elves, I then ask myself.

"did the eleven kings not leave to their kingdoms, when the attacks happened?"

as I enter the broken front gate, Celeste's voice enters my thoughts.

"Master Collin, I thought you were fighting the vampire lord Vernon, what happened?"

I answer and ask.

"don't worry, I took care of him, but I want you tell me where the kings are at?"

she answers.

"we are all inside a secret and highly protected room with the kings."

I respond.

"okay I'm at the courtyard, and I'm on my way inside the palace."

she quickly replies.

"stay there Master Collin, and I will come and get you."

after a few passing moments Celeste shouts from behind.

"over here!"

I turn around and run inside the portal with Celeste, and I come out to the other side, I look around and find myself inside a small room filled with the injured human kings and elven kings, but

I panic when I don't see Ellena and Hope, I then yell at King Lexur.

"where are they?!"

he answers holding onto his bloody and injured arm.

"don't you worry about them, Ellena scaped safely with Hope."

I kneel down next to him and ask with my voice almost breaking.

"are you sure?"

he gives a faint smile.

"if you don't believe my words at least believe in the words of my daughter the one that you claim to love."

I ask anxiously.

"what did she say?"

he answers.

"she told me to tell you to not worry about her because she went into hiding and also told me to tell you that she loves you."

not sure of if I believe his words I just stare at him silently, he placed his hand on my shoulder and says.

"I believe that my daughter is safe, so you should also believe in her."

I think to myself.

"he's right, Ellena isn't weak, she uses paralysed magi, so it's safe to assume that she would paralyze any vampire that would try to get near her."

I sigh feeling a little relieve and reply as I stand up.

"you're right, she's a very capable individual."

I look to Gresnor and Klein who are still recovering from Ying's attack against Vernon, but Ying is still staring out in the distance, still feeling the shocked that Vernon survived all of his strongest spells, as I pass by him and pat him ob the back, I then ask out loud.

"where is King Ryan?!"

I hear an unfamiliar voice shout behind a closed don't

"over here."

I open the door and see King Ryan, a kid who looks around sixteen years old and a handful of healers surrounding King Tully, I then ask.

"what's wrong."

The kid answers.

"my father protected me from a vampire, and ever since that we haven't been able to heal him."

King Tully interjects.

"Collin you were right, this vampire threat is real and now we are experiencing the end of the world."

I look at the kid who is looking at his pale dad and ask.

"kid what's your name?"

he answers nervously.

"Dave."

I ask.

"are you next in line to be king if your dad dies?"

he nods and as I approach the King Tully who is letting out shallow breaths, I continue to talk.

"okay Prince Dave, steel yourself and prepare for the worst."

King Tully manages to speak to me but his voice was weak and low.

"Collin I'm sorry that I've doubted you this whole time."

I reply.

"well I don't really blame you, this whole vampire stuff sounds silly."

he coughs up blood and continues.

"please help my son become a fine king and to lead the fight against the vampires."

I nod and respond half jokingly.

"of course, that's why you guys are paying me for, but I'm going to have you guys raise my pay."

he chuckles.

"you're a funny guy Collin."

after that he didn't utter any more words, and then after thirty minutes of silence passed, the healers pronounced him dead.
