Chapter 947 James Was In Financial Trouble

"Julie? How come you have time to call me? My living expenses this month... " said Julie's mother, a little excited.

"Living expenses? Forget about that! I have a proposition for you. It's a great money-making opportunity. Are you interested?" Julie asked.

"Of course I am. Is there a new casino opening?" Julie's mother asked, wondering.

Julie furrowed her brows and sighed. "Your life is all about gambling. Could you please try and make even a tiny improvement? You have already met the owner of the hotel where I work. Well, he is looking for an assistant, and I want my brother to apply for the position. This is a perfect opportunity for him."

"Your brother, to be an assistant? Do you think that's even possible?" Julie's mother didn't seem to have any faith in her son at all.

"That's the reason why I am calling to give you some advice. I know my boss's personality very well, and I know what he expects from a candidate. So tell my brother to listen to me this time. If he gets recruited successfully as an assistant, then he'll be in charge whenever the boss is away. Think about it." Julie was excited at the prospect.

"So when you marry your boss, the whole place will be ours, won't it? All right. I'll tell your brother right away."

With that thought in mind, Julie's mother let out a cackle and hung up the phone.

In the meantime, while she waited for her mother to call her back, Julie sat in the cafe daydreaming about her future with Zed. She wore a satisfied smile on her face, and her heart was full of joy.

'If my brother became his assistant, then I would know what he is doing at all times. This will help me capture him much more easily. Ha-Ha!' thought Julie, with a mischievous smile upon her lips.

However, then she remembered how infatuated Zed was with Jean and she wondered if Zed would be indifferent to all of her tricks.

While that thought crossed her mind, a bus happened to pass by with an advertisement for a drug posted on it.

'Well, that's a perfect idea. I can get my brother to slip some drug into Zed's drink and then when the effects of the drug kicks in, I can enter his office an

ve to pay the rent on time, understand?" The landlord's words were harsh.

"Okay, I'll pay it on time." James turned pale when he hung up the phone.

He quickly went to the cashier's desk and opened the account books. Although the gym was accepting trainees, there weren't many of them. In addition to paying the coaches and waiters, he had to pay rent for the place.

It was already hard to make ends meet. If he failed to recruit more trainees, it would be difficult to maintain. The most pressing issue at present was the rent of the venue, which he had just three days to raise.

He glanced over at Jean, who was now living at the gym. 'How awkward would it be for her to lose her place if the venue was taken back.'

James became even more anxious at the thought.

He noticed the few leaflets that were left on the desk and immediately picked them up and said, "Jean, I'm going out for a while."

Then he left the gym with the leaflets, looking to recruit some more new trainees.

Jean was aware that James was proud and stubborn. She went to the cashier's desk and had a look at the books which recorded the expenses of every single day.

She frowned when she saw the figures. 'It looks like James is on his own now, ' she thought when she saw all the necessary expenses.

Jean could see that he was in financial trouble.

She opened her purse and took out the second card that Zed had given her, hesitating.
