208 The Calm before the Storm

Huang Xur was greatly hurt by her father's words that she did not even bother to glance at him or bid him farewell when he lef the room with a team of HPA guards. Though, her father's words stung like a bee and went straight to her heart, she cannot simple feel any hatred towards him. Something in her heart was telling her that her father was right. That Zhang Chenric's heart does not belong to her. That no matter what she did, Zhang Chenric only longed for one woman. And even if that woman was long gone from his life, he still cannot look at her or any other woman- the truth that she cannot accept and will never accept. To Huang Xur, Zhang Chenric belonged to her and her alone.

Feeling devasted as well as somehow betrayed by her father, Huang Xur threw away everything on her table. She did not stop until the top of the table was empty and the floor was a mess. Thanks to the sound proof nobody heard the noise outside. However, Gianna was able to clearly see what was happening inside Huang Xur's office. Thanks to the mini surveillance camera that she stealthily placed on top of the painting hanging on the wall behind Huang Xur's table.

'This b*tch is going nuts again. I wonder why she sent some guards to escort her father out. And now she is wrecking havoc in her office. How I wish I have some soda and snacks so that I can truly enjoy this magnificent display of craziness!' Gianna thought to herself as she silently watched Huang Xur destroy everything inside her office.

Just when Gianna thought she was having the fun of her life, someone familiar suddenly burst inside Huang Xur's office. The man was wearing an expensive tailored suit and looked like he was in his late 40s. The man was slim and muscular. Gianna was certain that the man had done routine workouts to keep his body fit.

'Who's this new character?' Gianna silently asked herself as she jolted her memory trying to remember whether Huang Xur had already introduced the man to her. Alas! She finally recalled the man. She never saw him personally but she seen him a lot in painting and pictures inside the Huang's mansion.

'Ah! This must be Chairman Huang! Hmm... He seemed quite young for the chairman position though.' Gianna thought as she crossed her legs and pressed her back against the leather swivel chair and continued watching the unfolding scene from her laptop screen.

Gianna thought that Chairman Huang will immediately stop Huang Xur's rampage. However, he was still, silently standing behind his niece, observing her while she threw a tantrum.

It was just a matter of seconds when Huang Xur finally noticed that she was not alone in the office room anymore. She forced herself to calm down and unhurredly turned around to confirm if what she felt was right. Much to her horror, she saw the last person she wanted to see her looked helpless at the moment, Chairman Huang.

"U-uncle... How long have you been standing there?" Nervous, Huang Xur barely stammered out her words.

"Wasn't long enough to witness the start of your amok. What happened my child?" The cold countenance Chairman Huang wore earlier was quickly replaced by a concerned look and this shift did not go unnotice under Gianna's watchful eyes.

"Something is not right here. When he first stepped inside the room he was staring coldly at his niece. Well, maybe he cannot help but feel disguted that his successor is such a crybaby." Gianna murmured to herself as she continued to observe what was happening inside the executive office.

"U-uncle... Please forgive me. I was not able to close the deal with Oriental Europa. They refused our terms." Huang Xur's lie was close enough to pass one's truth radar.

Chairman Huang did not speak for a while, it was as if his brain was trying to absorb what he just heard from Huang Xur.

Getting no reaction from the man, Huang Xur started to feel agitated. But of course she kept it hidden, not wanting the chairman to notice her reaction.

"Is that so? Do not worry about that. They need us more than we need them. I assure you, Oriental Europa will be soon inside our grounds once they realized the big mistake that they made." Chairman Huang replied as he helped Huang Xur up her feet and sat her down the couch.

"Y-you're not mad at me, Uncle?"

"Why would I get mad at the only person who keeps my sister's memory alive? And besides, you just had a miscarriage. I think your emotions are still unstable. Don't worry my princess, uncle is now doing everything in his power to know Zhang Chenric's whereabouts. We will make him pay dearly for screwing you up."

"R-really uncle? You will do it for me?"

"Of course! Why wouldn't I? How am I able to face your mother in the after life if I cannot avenge her baby? But I think you should go on a vacation. Find inner peace, unwind and try to forget the pain of losing your child."

"I would love to go on a vacation, uncle. But I want to attend Oriental Europa's masquerade ball by the end of the month." I also heard that Zhang Chenric's will be attending as well. I think I now have the courage to tell him about the fate of our unborn child." Huang Xur kept on spewing lies, one lie after another.

"What?! Are you sure about that information? If that is the case, HPA must really close the deal with Oriental Europa. Our elite teams must be the ones to guard the party so we can corner that Zhang Chenric like a rat!" Chairman Huang said with voice full of conviction.

"Anyway, are you ready for the party? I can ask top class couturiers to design gowns and shoes exclusive for you. Also, I will invite my jeweler friend to create a jewel set that will match your chosen gown and pair of shoes." Chairman Huang added.

Seeing the great look of concern in the Chairman's eyes, Huang Xur cannot help but felt victorious.

'I cannot really understand why father is still worrying about me inheriting HPA and this stupid man's wealth. This man is a fool for spoiling me and I have him right in the palm of my hands.'

Unbeknowst to her, the foolish man she thought she had complete control of, already knew who she really was.
