Chapter 493 - THE LETTER I

The night went by peacefully since Travis kept his promise. He didn't tease her after taking a bath either. He allowed her to rest as much as she can.

When morning came, everyone were busy packing things and bringing them to the newly built house. Jade was helping Shein pack some of his stuff since Jackie was helping with Riley. Brown and Valkyrie didn't have that many stuffs and some of their things were also at the hacienda, same with Hawk and Savannah.

While Brown and Savannah took care of their things from Jillyanna's house, Valkyrie and Hawk went to the hacienda to move their things. When she woke up from her slumber, everyone was almost done moving out their stuff. Auntie Fei and Auntie Sisi cleaned the backyard with the help of the guards. Everyone was busy except her.

She was sitting inside her son's room, waiting for Travis to bring her food. She can actually just go out but Travis told her to stay put and wait for him instead. Ever since she got out of the hospital, she realized that she was the laziest person of them all. "I'm bored." She muttered to herself while watching her baby sleep. "Baby, your father is over protective, overly cautious, possessive and strict." She mumbled to the child who was sleeping soundly in his crib. Travis just got back when he heard her muffled voice. "At the same time, he is kind, smart, loving and caring. I won't wonder if you will become closer to him than me given the time you spent with him. Sigh, I wish he'd let me start taking care of you as well. I must have really scared him when I was dying. Now, he's become even more strict compared to the time that I was still pregnant."

Travis knocked on the door to call her attention which made her raised her head and looked at him. "I was talking bad about you to our child." She stated without any remorse.

"I know."

"Well, I intended those words for you. So, how about it? Will you allow me to take care of him?"

"No. It's tiring to wake up late at night to feed him and change his diaper. It will give you sore arms if you hold him to sleep. I don't want you to get tired so wait for another month until you get back your energy."

"Aren't you worried that I will become really lazy?"

"You can be lazy if you like. I'll just do my best to cover your laziness."

"Alright. I'll just let my husband dote on me." Jillyanna happily stated and took the tray of food from his hand. Her smile was so bright and contagious that Travis smiled as well.

"By the way, I made an acquaintance with Tiffany Kroger last night." She informed before putting a spoonful of food in her mouth.

"Hn. I noticed that you were talking to her last night. It seemed to me that she was the only one whom you befriended."

"Well, she's the only one who was really nice and didn't cause trouble. She took a liking to Jade as well. She will come and visit next time with her son who is attending an accelerated school."

"Let me know when they will come. I must be present during that visit. Who knows, her son might steal my daughter." Jillyanna almost choke on her food because of his last statement. He was thinking far ahead of time and she was now worried that her daughter won't find a boyfriend in the future because of him.

As they continued to spend their time, Jade came knocking on the door to find her mother. "Mommy, your doctor and your nurse are here." She informed her without coming inside and left again.

Jillyanna blinked her eyes and took a glance at her husband. "Why was she sweating so much?"

"Look outside." Travis told her, gesturing her to open the large window. Jade's laughter rang out while she ran at the garden. She was playing with Riley and Jackie with a tag game. Riley was the one chasing after the two girls.

"How do you know she was playing? We didn't open the window earlier and I didn't hear anything either."

"Did you just forget that I went to the kitchen to cook for you? She asked for my permission if she could play." Travis responded to her. "Anyway, finish your food and come downstairs to let them check on you."

"Yes, sir." Jillyanna replied and went back to sit and continued to eat her food.

Dr. Alison and the nurse weren't really in a hurry since they didn't have any other appointment that day. Jade also told them that her mother was still eating so they waited for a little longer.

After almost ten minutes, Jillyanna came down with Travis following behind her. The baby was still sleeping so he was able to come down and accompany her, just making sure that the door was opened so that they can hear the child if he would cry.

Jillyanna had two little rooms in the first floor when she was young, one was her bed room and the other was her playroom and study room. Now, it was Jade's hideout. One of the rooms contained some monitoring equipment for Jillyanna and instead of going to the hospital, Dr. Alison and the nurse will come to check on her instead.

She was gradually improving her health and wasn't easily running out of breath. Travis was very strict on her diet as well. As much as possible, he would let her eat delicious and low-fat food. He would always search for recipes to make sure that she won't get bored of her food.

"Did you feel any discomfort these past few days?" Dr. Alison asked while looking at her charts.

"None so far. Travis is always helping me."

"That's good to know. Since you are doing well, I have something to give you."

"I'm not a kid to ask for a prize just because I'm doing good." Jillyanna retorted sheepishly.

"Well, this is not really a prize. I guess I would have to burden you on something." Dr. Alison opened her bag but she still hesitated if she should give it now. "Are you really alright? I'm a bit worried. You see, there wasn't supposedly a heart donor for you. Someone came into my office and offered her heart. She wouldn't let anyone have her heart aside from you. She was just waiting for you to need her. On the day of your operation, she handed me a letter and asked me to give this to you."

Travis felt something was amiss from the very start but he didn't pay any attention to it. He knew that the hospital had a first come first serve policy and Jillyanna was at the bottom of the list as he last remembered and there were several other patients before her.

"I don't really know what's inside the letter which is why I waited for you to become stable." Dr. Alison added.

"That's fine. I can handle whatever is in the letter. I should be thanking the one who gave her heart to me." Jillyanna responded.

Since she said so, Dr. Alison didn't hesitate anymore and handed the letter to her. Jillyanna looked at the small letter envelope and didn't find a name. "I'll read this later." She stated and they continued with her check-up and physical therapy to make sure that her muscles were fine.

Curious as she was, Travis eyed the letter and wanted to read it before her. He wanted to know if it would cause her harm or not. However, he wanted to respect the donor's wishes so, he stopped himself from snatching the letter from his wife. At the very least, it wasn't a love letter from another man.
