Chapter 464 - A CALL FOR HELP

Jillyanna wore her evening dress. It was a Chinese style black dress which covers up to the base of her neck. It was to make sure that she would keep herself warm during the party. The size of the dress was a little loose in order for her to properly stretch her limbs and give space for breathing. No one would like to die from suffocation for a mere dress. She's a tall woman so, she chose to wear a two-inch black shoe to pair with her dress. The accessories that she Jade chose matches with her dress perfectly.

Travis helped her put on the necklace. "Don't leave my sight tonight. No matter what happens. You must stay with me." Travis reminded her firmly. It was an order and she couldn't say no to it.

She nodded her head in agreement while watching themselves in the reflection of the mirror. "How many people are we bringing tonight?" she asked casually since she would be putting the lives of other people in her hand. Even though the guards applied to secure her life in exchange for hers, she couldn't just let them die. They have families, too. They have parents, wives and children waiting for them to come home. As much as possible, she wanted everyone to come home safely.

"Six people will be coming with us tonight. Two of them are already in the venue to check the place with other securities. The other four will tag along and will keep an eye on you."

"I see." After saying those words, she kept quiet and was thinking about what Jade said earlier. It was given that someone would feel nervous if something happens to the people that they cared about. Jade feeling that way made Jillyanna felt a little apprehensive. But she wasn't nervous at all though. Unlike before, she always felt bothered and troubled before things got messy. 'I must be overthinking.' She dismissed all the negative thoughts and breathed in and out to calm herself.

"Are you nervous?" Travis asked her while putting on his necktie.

"A little. It is my first time to attend a year-end party."

"That's alright. You will get use to it." Travis responded with a smile.

After few more minutes, around seven in the evening, the two of them finally left with the four bodyguards tagging along. Top was responsible for driving them to the venue where everyone was waiting for the arrival of their boss and madam.

"I am so excited to see our goddess YNA tonight."

"Me, too. It's been quite sometimes since she last visited the headquarters. Many things happened to her as well and her pregnancy is very risky."

"I pray for her recovery and for her to give birth to a healthy baby."

"I hope nothing bad will happen to her. I like her so much, you know."

"I think we all like her."

"I don't just like her because of her songs in the past but because of her personality. As long as you won't do anything that would go against her bottom line, she would be very kind to you."

"I even heard that our bonuses were raised because of her."

"Hn. That's what I heard to. According to the rumors, our goddess told her husband that the directors and shareholders are the brain of the company but the employees are the core soul of the place. It's because of us that the company prospers."

Jillyanna and Travis didn't arrive yet but they were the focus of group conversations here and there, specially Jillyanna. There was indeed a time that she told Travis to raise the employees' bonuses. She just didn't know that it would make her look like their savior. She only did it because the remaining employees were the loyal ones. After all, she made a thorough clean up mission when Travis was still in comatose.

It made everyone do their work diligently and became honest with their time attendance and performance. Because of that, the productivity of the employees raised and they even finished their works on time. Those people who were sent to jail set as an example to the remaining employees. If you dare mess with Jillyanna, she will mess up your whole life.

"Good evening everyone!" The host went up to the stage to get everyone's attention. "I am honored to be the host for this lovely and most-awaited event of the year. Everyone had been working hard for the whole year and this time, we get to spend a break and enjoy ourselves to our heart's content. I am pretty sure that we all are happy after receiving our bonuses. Am I right?"

"Yeah!" Everyone cheered and responded to him happily.

"Did you guys buy your Christmas presents for your family and friends?" the host asked again.

"Of course. That's the priority."

"We didn't forget."

"You bought presents already? Why didn't I get one? Don't I have friends here?" The host complained as if he was truly aggrieved. "It's fine if I don't have friends here. I have a beautiful girlfriend anyway."

"Hey! That's mean."

"Stop flaunting your love!"

"Hmp! You are just envious because you guys are single."

"Get down there or I will really kick you out." One of the women yelled but her face was clearly showing it was a joke.

"We don't have a partner this year but, we will have one next year." Another single woman stated.

The host just chuckled while watching everyone below the stage. He received a message from the security officer stationed outside that the President and his wife finally arrived.

"You might not be envious of my relationship but you guys will be envious of this couple who had been through a lot yet, they stayed faithful and loyal to each other. They're really living up to their vows of going through bad times and good times together. In sickness and in health, they strive forward and overcome different adversities. Let's welcome Mr. Travis Madrigal together with his wife, the lovely Jillyanna Madrigal."

The huge door to the entrance was pushed open and what came into view was the gorgeous Jillyanna standing beside her handsome husband. Four body guards were following closely behind them.

"Good evening Mr. President. Good evening Madame."

"Good evening Travis. Good evening Jill."

"Hello boss. Hello boss madam."

Different kinds of greetings came from different people. Their smiles made Jillyanna felt warm and welcome.

"Good evening everyone." She returned the greetings and smiled at them. Travis also nodded his head to the people around him while holding his wife close to him. He found a place to sit and let Jillyanna take a rest since she walked several steps from the parking lot. It should be exhausting for a pregnant woman like her.

"Ladies and gentlemen, let's welcome our President to give us a short message."

Travis made sure that Jillyanna was fine before coming up on stage. Jillyanna was sitting quietly with the guards standing close to her. "Good evening everyone!" Travis greeted perfunctorily. "This year had been a difficult year for all of us. A lot of things happened, both good and bad. After all the adversities we all went through, I am glad to see all of you standing in front of me right here, right now. Because of your hard work, the company prospers and we got more and more projects with great offers. In behalf of my family who founded this business as well as the board of directors and shareholders, I'd like to extend my gratitude to everyone. Tonight, this is purely a celebration to have fun and enjoy our time. I hope you all have a great evening."

A warm applause erupted from everyone as Travis left the stage to go back to his wife. Some people approached them to give their well-wishes and some asked Jillyanna for her autograph. Even though she was no longer working as a singer, her name was still living in people's hearts even though she already stopped few months ago.

"Travis, congratulations on your wedding. I couldn't come last time because of my health and my daughter kept nagging me to leave with her to seek help overseas. I hope you don't mind my late gift." It was Mrs. Ching, one of the shareholders. "Congratulations in becoming the Mrs. Madrigal, Jillyanna. I know you are the most deserving person to marry this man. I am glad to see that he wasn't married off to someone out of convenience."

Travis chuckled knowing who the old lady meant. She was never close to Mr. Suarez and she always hated him every time he would mention marrying his daughter to Travis. It wasn't because she didn't like Cheska but, she just didn't like anyone to be married against their will.

"Thank you for this gift, Auntie Ching." Travis responded.

"Thank you." Jillyanna responded politely as well. She wasn't used to addressing people intimately when she wasn't close to them so, she decided to omit the name.

While they were attending the event, Jade was restless at home. She couldn't understand why she was feeling nervous all of a sudden. Her small hands were sweating coldly and she could hear the beating of her heart. Jackie and Riley were cooking food for dinner while Shein was still upstairs taking a bath. Whenever they were free, they would usually cook for themselves, not depending on to their helpers.

Their telephone rang all of a sudden, startling Jade from being anxious. Since everyone was busy, she decided to pick up the call. Her eyes widened and her breathing hitched.

"J-Jade…help..help me…"
