Chapter 404 - CONFIRMED I

Dr. Alison found her heart becoming stable but the danger was still hanging over her head like a ticking time bomb if she won't get an operation. "Just endure a few more months. You will soon give birth and have an operation."

"I have a good endurance doc. Don't worry about me." Jillyanna assured her with genuine smile. Dr. Alison also smiled towards her but her heart was heavy. "By the way doc, can I still go out? We won't be going to any dangerous place. We will just be checking a pet shop."

"That is fine. Just make sure that you take a rest from time to time." Dr. Alison confirmed, gave her several reminders before leaving.

"Happy?" Travis asked while typing something on his laptop. He was working while Dr. Alison checked on his wife but he was listening to their conversation.

"I am very happy and I know that Gabriel will be here. I am sure that I'll win this bet." Jillyanna wiggled her eyebrows at him. She looked really cute and silly at the same time, she was oozing with confidence. "I'll be drawing again so just do your work. I won't disturb you now." Jillyanna stated while taking out her art materials.

This time she sat on the couch at the window and looked outside her room. The clear blue sky and little fluffy clouds drifting in the wind lift up her mood. She didn't want to think about anything negative at the moment as she started to draw the fluffy clouds.

Her strokes were airy and the colors were light, reflecting her light mood. She drew the trees outside and the flowers that bloomed beautifully under the sun. "You look so pretty but you are gone so soon." Jillyanna murmured while looking at the beautiful flowers. They were the best example of the quotation, beauty is fleeting.

Just like the flowers, everyone will grow into a bud and soon, will bloom into a beautiful flower. However beautiful they are, they will still grow old, get wrinkles and eventually die out of old age. They will decompose and become dust or fertilizers.

Thus, for Jillyanna, beauty isn't the most important thing a person should find. Though many people claimed that she was beautiful, she would never admit it in public. For her, it's good enough that she knew about her beautiful yet failing heart. Her appearance doesn't matter. That was also the reason why she hid her face for over six years as an Internet idol.

She looked towards her husband who was working seriously. Everyone thought that he was scary, cold, strict and many other negative traits. Many people said that the only good thing about him was his face and his ability to do business.

Very few knew about his real face. He wasn't cold at all. At least, that's how Jillyanna, his friends and family viewed him. He cared about those people who were closed to him. He didn't let anyone hurt what's within his territory. Not only his family, but he made sure that all his artists in J Entertainment won't be bullied. He made sure that his employees were safe.

Just make sure that you won't betray him because that's when he showed how ruthless he can be.

Thinking about all these made Jillyanna smile. She closed her eyes and pictured him walking outside the garden, looking at her with so much love in his eyes. Her hand moved slowly while she tried to grab onto her imagined figure.

She drew him slowly with precise movement to make sure that she'd get the right figure. The angle of his face, the corner of his lips pulled up into smile and his eyes which seemed like looking into her soul – she gave so much focus on them. She was so engrossed with her drawing that she lost track of the time. She didn't even notice that Winter was standing behind her, looking at her drawing.

Making sure that she won't be startled, Winter sat on the chair not far from her and watched her drew. Travis didn't disturb her either so he asked Winter to bring her chair and sit in front of his work desk.

"How are you?" Travis softly asked her but his eyes remained on the laptop in front of him. "Are you getting used to your hearing now?"

Winter wasn't surprised that her cousin knew and she won't be surprise if Jillyanna knew as well. "I'm getting used to it. It was annoying at first when I can hear so much noise. I was getting comfortable with the silence and here I am, getting all fine."

"Don't you like it?"

Winter didn't answer this question. She released a deep sigh and looked towards Jillyanna who was still drawing. "Do you want to know what she has been drawing this whole time?"

"I don't need to guess. It's me." Travis uttered and saved his worked file. He closed his working windows and faced his cousin. "You are running away again."

"I will tell him the truth. I thought about it for a long time and realized that I don't own him at all. I shouldn't be selfish just because I like him. He's got his own life, too." Even though she was smiling when she said these words, her tone was regretful and sad. "I will report back to the military next week but I will ask him to extend my leave until the wedding."

"Are you sure with this decision? I don't want you to be burdened with regret in the future. But if you think this is for the best, I will support you. I will never abandon you."

"Thank you so much RV." Winter smiled but a single tear escaped her eyes. "I know I can count on you."

"You can count on me, too." Jillyanna mumbled as she put down he sketch pad. "I won't ever let anyone hurt you."

"I know that. I'm more worried about those 'anyone' instead of you." Winter chuckled, wiping her tears away. "I didn't know you are good in drawing."

"I just remembered that I am good at it." Jillyanna laughed softly before showing her sketch to them. "When you get bored, your forgotten talent will emerge." She walked towards Travis and sat on his lap. "What time is it?"

"It's almost lunch time." Travis answered her at the same time, he clicked on the time on the right side of his laptop. "You were so focused in sketching me that you didn't notice the time and Winter's arrival."

Jillyanna scratched the tip of her nose with a sheepish smile on her lips. "You are the best subject I can sketch. Aren't you proud that you are my muse?"

Travis kissed the tip of her nose that she was scratching. "I am so proud."

"Hello? I am still here." Winter cut them off with obvious grievances. "Spare me from so much sweetness, 'kay? I am broken hearted here."

"Why don't you let him fix your broke heart?" Jillyanna threw a question while her gaze was directed to someone at the door.

With her hyperventilating heart, Winter turned around and found Gabriel sitting on his wheelchair at the door. "How long have you been here?" Despite her calm expression, her trembling voice betrayed her.

"Let's talk at home." Gabriel stated with no room for refusal. "Do you guys want to have lunch together?"

Jillyanna refused him outright. "I want to eat lunch peacefully with my husband. I don't want to eat with this tense atmosphere. You better settle your matter first before inviting us to lunch."

"I don't want my wife to be stressed out." Travis added which means that Winter and Gabriel will have lunch on their own.

"You guys just told me that I can count on you. Why do I feel like you are pushing me away?" Winter sulked and complain but Jillyanna just winked at her.

"I said that I will support your decision but I didn't say I'll have lunch with you two." Travis responded. "How about you go back home and talk. Don't you think that would be wise? You were planning to talk to him anyway."

Winter knew that they were encouraging her to make a proper conversation with Gabriel. Even though they sounded like they were pushing her out, she knew that it was for her own good. It's better if they get to talk with just the two of them.

Winter stood up and bid farewell. Even with her impending loneliness, she still helped Gabriel with his wheelchair. For her, that would be the last time she can do something so simple yet fulfilling.
