Chapter 399 - THEY NOTICED I

Five Michael didn't say anything anymore. He needed to finish his task immediately or a dragon might blow fireball at him.

After quarter and hour, Jillyanna finished the adjustments and could finally change her clothes. Just like when she dress up, Travis helped her change again.

"I love the gown." she kissed his chin and smiled at him. "Thanks a lot."

"I'm glad that you love it. I was worried that it won't suit to your taste."

"You know me. I am just a simple woman yet you always gave me grand surprises that I didn't know how to take."

"That's what a husband should do. He should love his wife. Work for her and the family. He shouldn't make her feel tired. He should always make her happy."

"Didn't you make me feel tired last night?" Jillyanna argued back.

Travis just laughed at her adorable response. She was pouting with grievances, making him want to kiss her again and again. He took a light kiss on her lips and smiled. "We were both tired so it was equal."

"Really? You were tired?"

"Uhh..a little."

"Liar. You were obviously happy."

Travis laughed again while hanging the gown carefully on the side. He helped her put on her original clothes before taking off his own suit.

"I was tired since you didn't talk to me and I was happy because we made peace."

"Hmp! You just know how to coax me."

"I have to study hard to make you happy."

"You should." Jillyanna retorted with an arrogant expression. In front of him, she didn't need to pretend anymore. He could almost read all of her expressions down to the smallest details. He was a terrifying observer.

After putting their clothes back, they went out and sat on the couch. Five Michael was reading the details for all the dresses and suits while waiting for them.

"With these needed adjustments, I believe I can finish these three days before the wedding. By then, I'll ask someone to get these dresses here."

"That's not a problem." Jillyanna responded. "Thank you for your effort."

"Your husband paid me for this job. There's no need to thank me."

"Even so, you still worked for that money so you deserve my thanks. If there's nothing else, we'll leave you now so you can start working." Jillyanna mumbled.

They all bid their good bye and left the villa one after another. Since it was very rare for them to be together, Jillyanna invited them for lunch.

She was currently calling Shein to inform everyone inside his car to know about her plan. "No sis, we can't." He refused immediately. "We can't have our lunch at home.

"Why not?" Jillyanna asked him to know if there was something wrong with her house.

Shein looked towards Riley and Jackie who was with him. "We can't..because..be..cause.."

"Because we forgot to give Auntie Fei the money for groceries. There's no food left at home." Riley answered for him due to his slow response. "We didn't want to let you know since were thinking of buying groceries in the afternoon. We just didn't know that you'd invite everyone for lunch."

Jillyanna sighed and massaged her temples. "Nevermind. Let's just eat outside." She ended the call and turned towards Travis. "Where shall we have our lunch?"

"How about the Moonlovers? It's a restaurant with variety of Asian dishes." he suggested since it was the closest from where Five Michael lived.

"That's it then." Jillyanna agreed almost immediately. She wasn't someone who was choosy when it comes to food so she didn't really mind. She sent everyone a text blast to let them know the venue for lunch.

Shein, Riley and Jackie were all relieved to know that there was a change of plans. "We almost got busted!" Riley exclaimed. "Do you thinks she's being suspicious of us?"

"She is." Jackie affirmed their doubts. "Jenny is entrusted for the groceries at home and for grandpa and grandma Shan. When you told her about the groceries, she knew that we must be up to something."

"Then why didn't you say anything?" Riley questions incredulously. "Will she go back home to see what's going on?"

"Nope. First, she had been going out for two consecutive days. Travis won't let her go out again. Tomorrow, Winter was planning to visit them - that's what she told me. We need to do something that will keep her busy for the next couple of days."

"What do you have in mind?" Shein asked her. Among the three of them, Jackie was the most reliable and the sanest of them all. Even though Shein was intelligent, he was also very straight forward. As for Riley, Jillyanna would know if she was being honest or was acting. If it was Jackie, she wouldn't suspect anything.

"This week, I won't be going home to the dorm. I'll be coming home to help you with the preparation. During the day, we'll ask someone to keep her busy." Jackie mentioned.

"And who would do that?" Riley asked hopelessly.

"Is that even a question? Of course it is brother-in-law. We just need to tell him what's really going on. I am sure that he will agree and help us keep it a secret." Jackie retorted to her twin. "When it comes to surprises, as long as she won't get hurt, brother-in-law would cooperate."

"Didn't we agree that we'll do it during Christmas? Why did you guys change the plan?" Shein asked about it. They just talked about it yesterday that it would be a surprise during Christmas but this morning, Savannah and Jackie changed it.

"This surprise and that surprise are two different things."

"Fine. Do what you think is better. We will follow your lead." Shein and Riley commented.

"Of course. You've always been following my lead." Jackie winked at them cheerfully.

"But...I just want to say something. It's really out of topic..however..did..you guys notice that something was off with Winter? Or was it just my imagination?" Riley voiced out her doubt. "I can sense that she wanted to say something but she always held herself back."

"I noticed it too." Jackie admitted.

"Same here." Shein added making them look towards each other. "Anyway, if what we know is right, she must have her own reasons to hide it."

"Correct. Let's not do anything that could hurt her. The three of us are just an audience." Riley agreed. They won't interfere with her plans. Whatever it may be, it was her life and any decision must be made by her.
