Chapter 271 - OATH TO HER PARENTS

That night, Jillyanna didn't go back to the hospital. She holed up herself in her tiny little room behind the bookshelves.

After Travis cleaned that room, it was the first time that she's staying over for comfort. She was lying on the couch with her curled up body, holding on to the first teddy bear that her parents gave her.

Jillyanna's tears fell again while looking at the tiny place she used to stay to avoid tiring herself in using the stairs. It was the same place that she spent most of her time with her parents.

She played with them, talked to them, paint with them, drew with them and a whole lot more. She did so many things with her parents and remembering those, made her realized how much they loved her.

When you're jealous, perhaps you won't see anything other than jealousy. All those times that her mother showed her love for his father, her father must have thought that she was just doing it because it was her responsibility as his wife.

"Mom, did you really love daddy? Why didn't he see it from you?" Jillyanna murmured while clutching on to her chest.

"Both of you are selfish and foolish. You didn't try to patch up the holes in your relationship and now, see what happened? You both died with regrets and you both left me all alone."

Jillyanna let out all the pain she had been carrying all these years. She let them know how she struggled all alone because no one accepted her since they couldn't get the money from her. They beat her, locked her up and sometimes they wouldn't let her eat.

Jillyanna never complained such things before. She didn't care so much about it. She just wanted to wait for her father to come back and pick her up but there was no one.

She looked up and saw the wedding photo of her parents that she didn't like at all. Unlike Travis and her who was so happy to have a wedding, her parents looked like they were mourning over something. They didn't look happy at all. Seeing their expression would let you know that they were forced to have the wedding and Jillyanna hates it.

She wiped her tears away and shifted her gaze to avoid looking at the picture. She was just lying down quietly while remembering the things that happened to his father.

"Am I becoming selfish, too by not telling Travis of my condition? Am I walking on the same path that my parents did?" she whispered to herself while thinking about Travis whom she left at the hospital under her mother's care. "But I can't tell Travis now, he is still recovering and giving him a shock might really kill him."

She closed her eyes tightly and released a heavy and quick sigh. She sat up on the couch she was lying from and looked at her parents. "I won't become like you. I won't be selfish. I won't keep a secret from him anymore and I won't give him a hard time. I will love him until my last breath and I am not regretting that I married such a wonderful man."

She spoke her oath in front of her parents and even sneered at them. She realized so many things because of her parents and she wanted to apply it to her own relationship. Her parents loved each other but they lack communication and trust. His father was bound by jealousy and regret for taking her away. Her mother was clueless and thoughtlessly kept a secret without knowing that she was being followed.

Venus would always tell her before that her mother was the most careless person she ever knew. She didn't have any sense of danger and she just let herself do whatever she wanted to do. She easily lost her focus from the things around her when she was doing her job. It was also the reason why she didn't notice that Anton was suffering.

After some time, Jillyanna smiled genuinely in front of her parents' picture. "Thanks to you, I don't have to work myself to the bone. I don't have to work hard and lose focus on the people around me. Thanks for you hardwork, mom and dad."

Her sweet smile turned to an evil grin and her eyes were cold with danger. "I will give you a sweet surprise." Jillyanna returned her teddy bear on its shelf and tied her hair up into a high pony tail. She wiped her face and wore her glasses again to avoid letting the other people see her swollen eyes.

She met Valkyrie at the foot of the stairs holding a cold compress on his hands. "For you."

"Thank you Val." she received the cold compress and walked upstairs to her room. 'Time to wrap my surprise.' Jillyanna thought happily while leaving Valkyrie behind.

"She's really strong, isn't she?" Brown asked him while watching Jillyanna go up to her room. "Other people would have collapsed and break down from so much news but she didn't."

"Jillyanna learned so much on her own from being alone. Her experiences made her of who she is today and she had been expecting the worst thing from her mother's death and from her father's sudden abandonment. Knowing it wasn't that worst as she has imagined gave her a bit of relief that is why she remained strong and unbreakable."

Jillyanna went back to her room while pressing the cold compress on her eyes to keep it from swelling even more. She had her phone on her hand, calling someone that she hadn't called for a long time after the accident.

"Teacher, can I buy the Pain from you? No matter how much it would cost, I want to buy it from you." The woman on the other line was shocked to hear the word Pain from her. She didn't even greet her and she was asking for that stuff immediately.

"Same as always, straigth-forward and direct to the point. Summer, I don't want to sell it to you."

"Who do you want to sell it to?"

"No one. If anyone can defeat me, I'll give this to her."

"Sure. Expect it from your best student."
