Chapter 259 - RILEY'S AUDITION

After the second time that Travis woke up in short span of time, he didn't gain consciousness again. It's been three days and Jillyanna skipped work for three days as well to make sure the she sees him. But there was no Travis calling her or Travis opening his eyes to see her.

"Are you really upset because of what happened?" Jillyanna spoke to him once again. "I will go home for now to display our wedding photos. It arrived yesterday and I wanted to put it myself. Are you really not going to see me?" There was no response. Jillyanna felt hopeless once again and decided to give up. "Alright. I won't be back until evening."

She grabbed her things from the couch and walked out of the room without giving him a goodbye kiss. She was really upset because she didn't get herself a chance to explain or answer his question. 'What if he will take it against me? He won't be unreasonable, right?' She kept these thoughts to herself as she went out of the hospital with several body guards following her.

Around 10 o'clock in the morning, Riley was dressed in a long and elegant black dress. There was a slit on the other side of thigh down to her foot which showed her long and white legs. She was wearing a black gloves and her hair was tied up high in a messy bun, yet she looked alluring and beautiful.

"Is she here for the audition? Why is she wearing such elegant dress? This isn't a ball you know?"

"I know right? How can you move if they asked you to fight for a scene with that dress?"

"She's new yet she's arrogant!"

"Hmp! This is just for a second-female lead role but she won't get it."

"Isn't that the new artist from J Entertainment?"

"The one who got through back door?"

"Must be good in bed."

Riley ignored their chattering as if they didn't exist in his world. Right now, she was busy texting with someone who went to work with Jackie. Even though Jillyanna skipped her duty as the CEO, Jackie and Shein didn't want to do the same. They wanted to check and guard the empire while the emperor and empress were away.

"Do your best! Don't disappoint your mentor." Shein sent her a message which made her smile. He was clearly talking about Jillyanna, the only person who taught them how to act, in case they needed it to escape from some hoodlums. Kidnapping was very rampant and Jillyanna didn't want them to fall victims in such situation. Therefore, she taught them all sort of things and that includes acting.

"I will win this for sure." she replied confidently with a smile. She looked so beautiful that even the assistant, who came out to announce the procedure, was stunned to see her.

Wynwyn picked up the number for her and went back to sit beside her. "You're no.15."

"Okay." Riley responded before putting away her phone. "By the way Miss Wyn, aren't you the head of PR Department?"

"Yes, I am. What about it?"

"Why didn't I see you doing your job?"

Wynwyn's jaw dropped at her silly question. It could really be seen how innocent she was with regards to the industry she's working.

"Silly girl. That is why it is called a department because there are other people like me who will protect the image of our artists and company. I will only do it if the case is rather difficult and if it is about the CEO and Jillyanna. And now, for you as well. At the same time, our artists aren't troublesome people. They knew how to behave and fight when needed."

"I see. I'm glad I made the right choice." Riley muttered to herself before looking in front of her where people gossiped and talked behind the backs of other artists.

It wasn't even ten minutes yet and there were seven people who got rejected and kicked out of the audition room. They could even hear the angry shouts of the director, making them more nervous and anxious.

"Are you nervous?" Wynwyn asked Riley who kept looking at her phone but no message came.

"I am not nervous. He can shout all he wants, it is not me who will lose my voice anyway."

"Correct. Just stay calm and proceed. You don't have to be upset if you get rejected."

"I won't be rejected."

"You have such confidence? Don't come crying to me then if they will shatter your dream."

Riley just rolled her eyes and prepared herself. She stood up from her seat and walked towards the door just in time for no.14 to come out with gloomy face.

The assistant of the director saw Riley and asked for her number. Riley handed to her the small piece of paper with no.15. The assistant led her inside the room and everyone turned silent.

Riley walked like an elegant aristocrat who was ready for a ball but her eyes and smile were cold that they felt a shiver ran down from their spine to their toes.

"Name please?" The director snapped out of his reverie first and asked her the most basic question.

"Riley Summer."

"Summer? How are you related to those Summers that got jailed not long ago?"

"I don't know. I am an orphan and I don't know anyone with same surname as me until I came to this city."

"I know this is rather personal but we don't want to work with someone who's related to criminals." The director told her with calm demeanor and Riley looked at him with same expression.

"I've got no problem with that. I am not tied to them anyway."

"Alright then. If you say so. I will believe your words and will hold you accountable if you are lying."

"Sure. I don't mind."

Her calm and collected countenance won the director and the other big shots who came to watch the audition.

"Proceed and make me say wow."
