Chapter 241 - BUSTED

When Brown turned his head to face the person, he didn't find him in front of him instead, he was walking towards the three chatting doctors and scolded them.

"Everyone is busy and people died everyday because we haven't perfected the research! And here you are chatting your time away! You are not paid to just chat here! Get back to work!" the man who looked quite old but still had strength in his voice, yelled at those three yapping scientist.

He looked so angry that veins were bulging on his forehead and his face was red while his arm holding a folder shook from anger.

Brown ignored them and started doing his 'work' while checking on the folder he found beside the computer. However, there wasn't any important information on that folder at all. It was just the printed list of patients that died and will probably die if the police and military won't take action immediately.

When everyone became busy again and some people started pouring in, Brown wrapped up everything and stretched his body out as if he was tired from all the 'work' he did.

He was looking down on his watch when he passed by a female doctor. "I'll get some coffee." It was just a perfunctory remark to let them know that he will be going out. The female doctor nodded her head and continued working without even bothering herself to see who the person was.

Brown walked out of the room nonchalantly with a big yawn. Valkyrie was still monitoring his surrounding through the cameras. When a group of people walked towards Brown, Valkyrie called him on his phone so that he could hide his face by looking down to get his phone.

"Yes?" Brown asked like it wasn't a big deal.

"Are you going to file an absent leave?" Valkyrie asked.

"Nope. I have different plans."

"I see...."

They kept their conversation going until Brown returned to his original laboratory to finish the day's work.

"Open all the files of the employees here." A middle-aged man stormed inside the computer and monitoring room. "Check the footage of all cameras in the basement and near the elevators."

The IT team didn't know why he was acting strange but they still followed his instructions. "Sir, what exactly are we looking for?" one of the IT specialists asked the man.

The man didn't answer the question but started scrolling through the files of all the employees they have in the building. After half an hour of scrolling the files, he couldn't find the man.

"Damn it!" the man slammed his fist on the computer table leaving a small dent on it. "Make sure to check all the camera footage of this building from this morning. I need to find that man!"

They extracted the videos taken from this morning and played them all together in slow motion to spot a certain person.

"Help me find a man with purplish-white hair that reaches his nape. He has a striking tear mole and he's tall. He is..."

"Is this him?" one of the IT specialists pointed at the screen where he paused the video at the time that Brown got off the elevator.

"Yes! That's him!" the man exclaimed and a sinister smile started spreading on his lips. "Find this man's whereabouts and let me know as soon as possible.

The IT specialist started working after they realized what happened. Their security was breached and the man got inside the secret laboratory. They were busted!

Their hands danced over the keyboard but they still had difficulties in looking through his file. They found his information not from the doctor's files but from the files of the employees working at the cafeteria. His information was also encrypted and it was a difficult encryption to break.

"F*ck! This only means that someone from our side betrayed us and let this man in!" one of the specialists commented while trying to break the encryption.

"It doesn't matter. Those who chose to betray us didn't have a happy ending." another man responded to him. "It won't be long for this man to die."

They spent almost half an hour to get the right encryption but when the folder was opened, there wasn't anything inside it aside from the words 'What a bunch of fools.'

The IT specialists were so stressed out from their findings. Nevertheless, they continued working by hacking the cameras from the surrounding places of the building.

The middle-aged man was also fuming from anger and started calling his father. "Father, I need your trained troops. It's to kill or get killed now. Someone breached through our system and got inside the secret lab in the basement."

The person on the other line must have shouted or yelled at him because the man put his phone away from his ears. "I will take action immediately once I knew where this person is. Let your people wait for my signal."

He put down his phone and watched the specialists work in locating down the person's place.

Brown sent all the information he got to Winter and Lucian. Lucian was the one handling the murder case of Jillyanna's mother so he needed to know about it, too.

As soon as Lucian got the information, he applied for a search warrant and arrest immediately. However, he waited and waited for almost three hours but there was no response even though it was clear as day from the recordings that the people inside the lab were criminals.

"Why aren't the higher ups giving as a go signal? This is inhumane! We need to bust them now or they will escape! If they won't approve my application for search warrant and arrest, I will let the public know of this information right now." Lucian threatened their department chief who was already getting paled from so much pressure.

"Don't do anything reckless Lucian! My family is in their hands. If I will make a hasty decision now, my wife and daughter will be killed!" Their department chief blurted the truth in front of Lucian and the other officers that he trusted. "Let's plan this accordingly, okay?"
