Chapter 131 - VALKYRIE'S THOUGHTS II

A year had passed since he joined the military. Sometimes from the strenuous trainings, he would completely forget him but during the night, his body was still as honest as ever.

He was also confuses to himself. Before, he would be looking at the handsome men with heart in his eyes. After Brown came to his life, he lost interest in them and only had him in his eyes.

One day, they were having a combat mission. Even if they were not using any real weapons, the pain from punches and kicks were real. Everyone will get sprains and bruises all over their body and he wasn't excluded in that.

After his match, he had a light bruise in his arms and was told to get a treatment for it. Out of the blue, the person who's checking on the soldiers was the person who never stopped appearing in his dreams.

"How the hell did you get here?" Valkyrie asked with surprise lacing his voice. He was happy and upset at the same time. How could he not be upset? He had been avoiding him and now he just came in front of him.

Brown didn't know what was going on in his head so he just smiled brightly at him. "Dr. Anderson wanted me to practice my fighting skills and if possible go on missions as well. Being a doctor is just a secondary option. It is for me to treat my injured comrades."

"That old man. Isn't it enough that I'm here? Why did he have to send you, too?" He closed his eyes out of helplessness, sighing at his dilemma before sitting on a chair.

Brown rolled up his sleeves, exposing his bruises from the combat earlier. "It's exactly because of you that I'm here." He whispered while treating him gently. "Press this cold compress on the bruise."

Valkyrie just watched him go 'bout his things and treat him. "How long have you been here?"

"I just arrived today."

It wasn't what he was expecting but Valkyrie accepted the fact that he needed to endure every passing night.

Until that fateful night. A flustered and drunk Brown came knocking into his room. He was hiccuping but he tried to focus his eyes on him.

Valkyrie felt a strong pull of gravity. He wanted so much to push him away but he couldn't look away from his teary eyes.

"I like you." Brown stated and wrapped his arms around his neck. No other words just a simple 'I like you.' and he didn't know who he was talking about.

'He must be mistaking me for someone else.' Valkyrie thought and tried removing his arms from his neck. The thought of Brown liking someone made the beast inside him growl.

Brown was stubborn though. He wouldn't let go of him and instead, leaned closer to him. 'Just this once.' Valkyrie noted mentally and stole a kiss.

His cold lips met him and it was a bit sweet and tangy. It was just supposedly just once but it became twice and thrice until he lost count.

Brown didn't fight him or resist him. He was moaning and panting from so much pleasure. He didn't even know how they ended in such situation but he remembered clearly every step he took when the next morning came.

Valkyrie was ashamed. He was guilty and ashame from taking advantage of him. Brown was younger than him and innocent. He shouldn't have let himself succumb to lust and pleasure.

He was also afraid that Brown would be disgusted of him. He was afraid that their relationship will change. He was afraid that he will leave if he knew what he did.

So Valkyrie, with his coward heart, left his room first without waiting for Brown to wake up. He decided to put a distance between them. He promised not to bring up that night with him or even talk to him.

When they met, Brown didn't speak to him either. He only look at him with so much regret in his eyes. Valkyrie's heart was broken.

'He remembered! He remembered what I did! What am I going to do? Should I talk to him? Will he even talk to me?' He was already in a state of panic and for a moment there, he admitted to himself that he was a dumb and foolish.

This continued for a long time and his guilt was eating his heart away until Major Avery came to the picture.

It wasn't known to everyone but they started hanging out together. She would always practice with Brown and teach him many things.

This made Valkyrie put his guard up. He didn't want anyone to steal away the person he likes. He was his.

When Major General Calhoun sent Savannah, Hawk and Brown to a mission, Valkyrie was restless. "What if something happened to him? I haven't talked to him yet! No. No. No. This can't be happening." He was pacing back 'n forth inside his dorm room from restlessness.

In the end, he went to the Major General's office and asked him to include on the mission. It took him half an hour to actually convince him and gained agreement.

At first he was happy because he can protect him. Even if Brown was angry, he wanted to protect him, the only way he knew to atone for his sins.

When the mission day came, he was ready to engage in a conversation with him but his cowardice acted. He couldn't face him after all.

It wasn't just that night. He tried to reach out to him many times before but he couldn't. If it wasn't because of Travis, they might still not be speaking to each other.

But speaking casually and speaking what's inside your heart were different things.

Valkyrie put his arms over his eyes to cover half of his face. "Didn't I tell you I don't want you to go? Why didn't you get my hints? Would I even kiss you if I hate you? In fact, I must be the only one feeling this way. You were just playing with me, right?" Valkyrie murmured to himself. "I even fought with my father because of you. Did you even understand my feelings?"
