Chapter 122 - HIS INVESTIGATION

Travis did his own investigation regarding the issue. He found the numbers of those account owners and called them each.

The first account that posted a warning was owned by a middle schooler named Elaine and she seemed to stutter a lot. Maybe out of nervousness?

"What happened to your account these past few days?" He asked directly without introducing himself.

"Who...who...m-might you..b-be?" the young girl asked.

"Travis Madrigal."

"S-sir. I didn't d-do..any...anything. These p-past few...few days..I..I could not log..log in to m-my account." she said with so much difficulty. She was so scared that she could not talk properly.

Travis massaged his throbbing temples before speaking. "Don't be nervous. I know it is not you which is why I am asking what happened. Calm down."

The girl took a deep breath and spoke again. "At first, I was still able to log in but I can't control it. My cursor moved even if I didn't do anything. Then, it turned to complete blank screen. I just knew about the issue because of my friends. Until now, I couldn't log in again. Are you going to punish me?"

"Nope. It wasn't your fault. Just make sure you won't store any personal or financial information in your social media account. It would be difficult if it gets hacked again."

"Thank you sir."

The call ended and next on the list was a university student. Travis also got his number so he called him immediately. The first call was directed to voicemail so he had to dial it again. Thankfully, the man answered the second call.

"Who is this?"

"Mr. Anjo, this is Travis Madrigal. Perhaps, you knew me already."

"Thank god you called Mr. Madrigal. I didn't know how else to apologize." The man said after breathing out a sigh of relief.

"Why are you going to apologize to me?" Travis asked even though he knew why.

"Three days ago, someone wanted to buy my gaming account. When I proceed to negotiating with him, my social media account will no longer respond. There was no error or anything. After few minutes, I am able to use it again and continued as usual but my buyer no longer wanted to buy my gaming account. Later on, a post under my account was trending online, when I saw it I don't recognize it at all. One of my friends told me that my account was probably hacked. I don't really know what happened. I'm sorry Mr. Madrigal. I didn't want to put your wife in such stressful situation."

Travis sighed and marked X on his name. "It's okay. I just wanted to know what happened. Thanks for your help."

Base on his investigation, only the reporter posted the issue on his own volition. He might as well give him a personal visit.

He finished his task first before clearing up the history of his actions and put the monitors back to normal.

After an hour, Travis came out and sat beside Jillyanna again. "I have to go somewhere."

"You're leaving me here?" she asked with a stern face. Her hands stopped from moving and she just looked at him.

Travis wanted to laugh at her cuteness but he knew he'd get a punch so he stopped himself.

"You're safe here. I won't take so much time. Probably just and hour or two."

She still didn't say anything and just looked at him. "Don't look at me like that Jill. I promise I won't take long."

Still no response. She turned away from him but there was no agreement.

Jenny also had the urged to laugh. Who would have thought that Jillyanna could be childish, too.

Cielo looked at him and mouthed 'bring her with you' which he followed.

He really wanted to laugh. He coughed to clear his throat and spoke again. "Jill, do you want to go with me instead?"

Jillyanna smiled, saved her work before closing her laptop. "Let's go. Do I need to change or anything?"

"Just put on your coat." he stated while grabbing the coat for her. He helped her wear it and ruffled her hair. "My silly wife. You can just tell me if you want to go with me."

"Didn't we promise that? Did you forget?" Jillyanna questioned him, getting irritated again.

"We did. I just thought you might want to stay here for a while." Travis reasoned out.

"Promise is a promise. Don't break it or I will break you."

"Sorry." Travis kissed her forehead and led her out. "We're going out for a while."

"Take care." Cielo and Jenny called out.

"Come back quickly." Sky reminded them from the kitchen.

Jillyanna got inside the car and fasten her seatbelt. Travis drove out of the mansion and made their way towards north.

"Where are we going?" Jillyanna asked since she had no idea about his plan.

"We are visiting someone today." Travis stated, his face serious and his voice was dripping cold.

Jillyanna felt a bad premonition about this but she wanted to know who's the person he wanted to visit.

After half an hour of travel, they stopped in front of an apartment building that looked old.

They came up to the third floor and that's when Jillyanna realized what he's up to.

"Travis, are you going to punish him?"

"Him? You mean the reporter? How did you know about him?" Travis asked successively.

"I had Lucian investigated the matter online. Officer Nik helped me trace the people and he is the only one who made the post on his own volition. Earlier, I just received an update regarding him. His daughter is currently diagnosed with leukemia and they needed money for treatment. His wife left him and there's no one to help them. He confessed that he received money from someone to post a news about you or me. He's actually not here. He's at the prison right now."

Travis felt a little cold in his heart. The thought of her crying last night and how she turned to ask help from someone instead of him, made him feel incompetent.
