Chapter 184 - Stephen And Sofia's Moments In School Cafeteria

"You don't like a double wedding? It's also fine. The spotlight should all be ours when the time comes," Stephen casually mumbled as he leaned forward. Somehow, the world around them suddenly froze and, only the two of them existed.

Sofia looked down but, there was a small smile appeared on her lips.

"My face felt burning right now," Sofia managed to convey and focused her eyes on her noodles. She was rendered speechless and could only come up with a sensation in her cheeks. A flushed of bring pink covered her white skin.

Just then, Stephen extended his arm and held her chin gently, "Let me see," he softly said, making her look at his eyes.

Warmth spread even further like there were butterflies in her stomach as their eyes locked for a long time. Stephen's palm touching her chin kindled a kind of passion that Sofia had never felt before.

In her mind, there were few gaming terms that she could associate with Stephen's movement. The after-effects per se: stunned, silenced, immobilized...

Heck! At that moment, she really felt like a battlefield where countless emotions were surging and, she was there waiting to be engulfed by it.

While Sofia's emotions were too open for his eyes to see, Stephen mused himself. He gently brushed his thumb on her lips and, for a brief second, he had an inkling that if he leaned closer and kissed her, she would allow him to do it.

"No double wedding then," he finished and withdraw his hand to his side.

This time, Sofia recovered from her shock and, she stifled a laugh. "Pffft! Aren't you too young to think of our wedding?"

Our wedding. Though Sofia spoke of it casually, it repeated on Stephen's mind like a melody.

"Am I too young? I am a year older than you!" Stephen softly snorted. He crossed his legs and gave Sofia a challenging gaze.

On the other hand, Sofia froze and gulped. She then grabbed the can of sprite and finished its content.

"I was just telling you that I will attend Brent and Grace's wedding. I am not thinking of our wedding," she reasoned. Ah, not only she was overwhelmed with different unknown emotions, but she also slipped and forgot her current age.

She suddenly wondered if it was her real self in the past, would Stephen be able to have this kind of effect on her?

Perhaps, the answer is no. Her soul was 24 years old! In her past life, it never occurred in her mind that she would feel an attraction to the younger generation.

Sofia cleared her throat and slowly placed the empty can on the table. Just as she thought that she had finally recovered from her initial shock, Stephen probed further. "Then, when is the right time to think of our wedding, Sof?"

"Stephen!" Sofia called as she gathered her hands and covered her face. This boy really had a way to completely disarm her!

Subconsciously, Sofia's foot swayed below the table and kicked his left knee. The force was not really strong but, Stephen made a dramatic winced.

"Oww! Okay, okay, hahaha," Stephen rubbed his knees while grinning from ear to ear. He opened his can of sprite and drank it casually.

"I'll go back to my apartment and drop those books," Sofia said after he finished drinking.

"I'll come with you to help you carry them," Stephen said and swiftly took the books.

"You go back to your class. Give me those books, Steph. I can carry it myself," Sofia said.

"Fine," Stephen shrugged and glanced at his watch. It had just been less than an hour that they ate together. "I'll send you until the gate," he said and kept the books in his hands.

Even if he wanted to come with Sofia, it would be an offense to their school rules. Students were never allowed to go out of the premises during class hours unless there is an emergency. He had so many serious violations of school rules in the past and was not bothered by it. But now, he strangely wants to follow the rules.

"What time is the wedding? Are you spending the entire day at the reception?" Stephen curiously asked as they walked towards the exit gate.

"The event is not yet finalized. I don't know what Brent was thinking. He rushed this wedding as if his bride would elope with another man," Sofia commented.

"It has to be rushed for the district election is fast approaching. It may not be Brent's idea but the mayor's," Stephen responded.

"That makes sense," Sofia agreed.

"Don't get too close with the mayor's daughter, Sof. It's not that I am controlling you of who you meet. But, that girl is not as simple as she looks," Stephen suddenly spoke in a low tone.

"Oh, she's fine. I don't think she had an ill intention. Besides, we also have our separate connection that only girls could understand," Sofia defended.

"You can spend that connection with Claire," Stephen stated.

"Claire and I had the purest friendship in this world. There is no doubt about that. As for Grace, there are aspects in her that I can somehow relate to," Sofia vaguely admitted.

"Well, if she becomes the wife of the Lee Family, then, I think it's fine. But still, don't let your guard down," Stephen muttered while glancing at the clouds that covered the sun.

"Students, do you have an emergency to go out of the school premises?" the guard called them when they were few meters away from the school gate.

"I am from the night class and came to borrow some books in the library, sir," Sofia explained.

"Oh, I see. Show me your school IDs?" the guard politely requested.

Sofia took a sling from her bag which was connected to her ID. She then gave it to the guard. The man mumbled briefly before he switched his attention to Stephen's direction.

"I'm sending her out. Bye, Sof. See you later!" Stephen spoke and finally returned the books to her.

The guard handed back Sofia's ID and gave her a nod of confirmation that she was good to go.

"Thank you," Sofia said and waved her hand a Stephen before walking away.

Stephen sprinted back to his classroom with a bright expression on his face.

"What took you so long, Mr. Ching? You were half an hour out of my class!" the teacher stated the moment he slipped inside.

"Some cubicles in the male comfort room were out of order, ma'am. It's still under repair. So, the queue is a bit long," Stephen quipped and strode towards his seat.

"Ma'am, the cubicles are fine---" one of the students in the middle row spoke. However, when he felt Stephen's sharp gaze, he did not finish his sentence and pretended to read his textbook.

The teacher did not make any further comments too. She just proceed with her lecture and Stephen took a breath of relief.

"Hehe, where did you go? I said to look for Sofia but you took almost all the class hours," Joey whispered eagerly.

"I went to eat. I was hungry," Stephen simply replied and started to examine the discussions written on the board.

"Ohh, you could have invited me," Joey frowned.

"I went to eat with Sofia," Stephen clarified with a small smile on his face.

"I see," Joey responded while scratching his head. "No wonder, you are in good mood. Did you talk to her about the other squads recruiting us?"

"Yes, we talked about it. Claire was also asked by some squad," he casually replied.

"What else? There is no way you are in this good mood if you only talk about recruitment. Come, spare some gossips so that I can share them with your fans club!" Joey playfully continued to ask him.

"There is that... And we also talked about double wedding," Stephen easily answered while remembering the expressions on Sofia's face.

"What about the double wedding?" Joey inquired while carefully checking their teacher, making him completely missed Stephen's warm expression.

"That's it," Stephen finished and started taking down notes.

"If you don't tell, I'll ask Sofia," Joey shrugged and took his phone out from his pocket. He carefully composed a message but before he could finish typing, Stephen called the teacher.

"Ma'am, someone is using their phone!"

Joey gritted his teeth and glared at Stephen. Be before he could express his anger, the teacher already went to his side.

"Mr. Ho, you have repeatedly neglected my classroom rules. I am confiscating your phone," Joey heard the teacher spoke in a cold tone. This was not the first time that he used his phone inside her class, so, he knew that he can no longer use any alibi.

"Sorry, ma'am," Joey looked up and forced an apologetic look.

"You can get this after the class ends," the teacher said after holding his phone and walked back in front.

Joey could only stare at his device being place on the teacher's desk and sighed.

"That is very underhanded. I will tell Sofia about this, just you wait!" he sulked in his seat.

Meanwhile, Stephen shook his head with a glint of playfulness in his eyes.
