Chapter 158 - Offering Jing Jing A Job

Name:Ceo Unrivaled Author:inflict
"Sister Jing are you busy?" Sofia asked over the phone. She was left by herself once more while her members went back to their afternoon class.

Sofia went to the side of the convenience store, just sitting on one of the public benches. She wanted to see the progress of their bank account so she could proceed to purchase the property on the intersection street.

"I'm not busy. In fact, I have no job anymore! I don't know why boss Wang fired me! But, I guess... he was offended about the matters involving the business investment that I told you before," Jing Jing blurted. No matter how she tried to conceal her angry tone, Sofia could tell that Jing Jing was already upset.

"Y-you were fired? When did this happen? Why?" Sofia was completely taken aback by Jing Jing's response.

Didn't she just confirm to have two employees on her side? Boss Wang did agree to allow Jing Jing to handle their social media while Ms. Yen would oversee their potential endorsements.

Moreover, it was just this morning in their meeting before she went to the Rosen Club!

"Ahh... that business  I told you about, the one that would make your investment money double after a month, I spoke to my colleagues about it. But when boss Wang knew, he fired me. He said that it was because of malicious accusations that I am spreading in the office," Jing Jing lamented.

"Ohh... Sorry, sister Jing, I did not know that this would be the reason that you would lose your job. You can work with us. I will give you the same salary as your former rate," Sofia offered.

She did not hesitate to make a proposal to Jing Jing. Anyway, she already told boss Wang that she would poach Jing Jing. The man just made it easy for them to avoid awkwardness.

"You..." Jing Jing sighed loudly that even Sofia could feel the heavy atmosphere around despite their distance. In her mind, it was an indication that Jing Jing was reluctant to take her offer.

"Sister Jing, my group is planning to buy a place but I need a bank account to finalize the sales. The last time we took a stroll around, I was looking for the most suitable location to develop a business. And I have seen one in the intersection street. You can be the manager once the business is open," Sofia quickly spoke while Jing Jing was in momentary silence.

"I will think about it. I am not sure if I am ready to be a manager. My usual job is to interview people and kinds of stuff," Jing Jing mumbled softly.

"Sister Jing, do not wait. Value your time and try things even if you feel you are not ready. I think that being ready is just a mindset. Or could it be that you are thinking that you are not qualified to manage a business?" Sofia spoke.

Jing Jing froze in realization. Indeed, she doubted her qualifications. Thus, she had said that she was not yet ready for the position!

'How could this teen recognized what I truly think?' Jing Jing mentally asked.

"You know what, I have to be honest. Every time I have a conversation with you, I think that I am talking to someone who is more older than me," Jing Jing expressed subconsciously.

"Ahh, don't think too much about it. Maybe, I am influenced by the other older gamers that I met before. I did see them chatting in the public chats and exchanging their philosophies," Sofia quickly made up her excuse.

"That's interesting. You are a smart girl," Jing Jing casually complimented.

"Thank you, sister Jing. So, don't reject my offer. You are already close to us and I can see a full potential in you. Even if I am young, I know that you are a dedicated person. That's what we need," Sofia said.

"Hehe, alright! I will be your manager. But, even if boss Wang fired me, he still appointed his cousin to oversee your squad. So, you will be in good hands," Jing Jing stated. She did not seem really angry with her boss. It was more like, she was mad at the circumstance that she was dismissed.

"Mmmn... Business is business. Our personal feelings must not mixed with it. We needed the connection of the private press for our future tournaments, sister Jing. So, if you have grievances of your boss, I would understand that," Sofia explained.

Even if Jing Jing would no longer work on the press company, Sofia knew that it would be more beneficial for them if their contract stays as it was. She was not a fool to involve personal feelings and be carried over with it.

"It's okay. I won't ask you to terminate the contract of my former company," Jing Jing answered right away.

She completely grasped what Sofia was talking about. Perhaps, the teen was afraid that she might loathe her secretly for keeping the contract despite her leaving the company.

"Okay, I felt at ease now! Then, how about the bank account? Should I ask Mr. Wang to handle it?" Sofia questioned.

"The bank account, well, I can handle it today. Just give me an hour to consult the bank here. Then, I'll meet you at around 2 pm?" Jing Jing suggested.

"No, I have matters to do at 2 pm. I will be meeting the soon employees that we will need for our business. Can we meet at 4 pm?"  Sofia stated.

"Oh, you hired employees for the business already? That's quick! Very Impressive!" Jing Jing exclaimed and was fully shock at how much progress had the plan went on. Who would have known? Sofia made it look so easy to start a business!

"We haven't hired them. But, they already agreed to work. We will finalize the papers later," Sofia replied.

"Alright, then, I'll be off now. See you and take care!" Jing Jing stated. And before Sofia could respond, Jing Jing added, "Thank you for the new job!"

This time, the tone of Jing Jing totally changed to a more lively one. Sofia could not help but also smile.

"You're welcome, sister Jing! Bye!" she chirped before ending their conversation.

Sofia was about to put her phone inside the pocket of her jeans when another call was coming in had reflected in the screen. As she peered, the notification showed boss Wang's contact information.

Sofia could tell why the man was calling. It should be about Jing Jing's termination of employment. She continued to put the phone on her pocket and then adjusted her sitting position.

Subconsciously, she lifted her wrist to see the time but only then she realized that she did not have a watch.

"Haha," Sofia softly laughed.

Such a habit of checking the time every now and then was something that she would also do in her last life. The only difference was that her wrist would be wearing an exclusive diamond watch at that time. Now, even her cheap one had stopped working!

While she was about to leave her seat, two middle-aged men who were sitting on the other bench, few feet away from where Sofia sat, walked up and approached her.

"Young girl, we overheard your phone conversation, and sorry but we really listened to it. Are you still hiring with that business you mentioned while on the call? Can you also give us a job?" one of the men said without any introduction of their names.

Sofia looked up and noticed that the men were dressed formally. But their was an air of desperation in their eyes that she had recognized.

Although they were not wearing expensive suits, it was a pretty decent outfit based on the standards of their region.

"Hello! My name is Sofia. Please have a seat," Sofia said formally  and gestured to the empty bench opposite to her.

The two men exchanged a glance before they carefully sat.

Sofia also looked at them in the eye to see if these men were sincere and not wasting her time.

"How about I let you introduce yourselves first? I can't hire people that I don't know," Sofia easily said. Her hands clasped while she was waiting for the men to respond.

With Sofia's words, these men instantly gasped that they were being interviewed on the spot! Or at least, this was how it felt for them.

Both of them suddenly felt tense. They had expected the young lady to just respond with a yes or no. Who would have thought that she would ask them to introduce themselves right away! They were not prepared!

"Young girl, I just want to ask, the business is yours? It is not your mommy or daddy's business?" the other man questioned. He suspected that Sofia's parents may own the business.

"The business is not yet in operation. But, once it is open, it will be under the Chronos squad," Sofia answered.

"C-Chronos squad? I know them. But why would the business be under those gamers?" the first man to speak considered in confusion.

It was too obvious that these two men had not yet recognized the identity of the young girl sitting opposite to them.
