Chapter 143 - Custom Battle Room 777 (1)

Sofia closed the preview window of the new skin she received. Her expression reflected a very good mood. 

"The skin I got is for my archer," Stephen stated while looking at the bow and arrows were glinting of golden aura for his character. "I think there would be an effect if we cast the skills of our character using this skin."

"Possibly... It's nice! Well, finished your papers," Sofia said and ate the entire donut in her hand. Stephen started to drink his coffee and then obediently kept his phone away.

The two settled in comfortable silence. Sofia continued to explore the game with both of her hands holding her mobile phone.

The screen prompted another image as she entered the main lobby of the game and switched the category of various modes for the PVP maps. Her finger stopped moving for a while when she reached the Custom PVP Mode.

In a swift movement, her index finger clicked the + (plus) button on the mobile screen to create a battle room.

Another screen displayed a category of two text boxes on the opposite side with a 'vs' in the middle. Sofia typed 1 on the left side and then another 1 on the right side.

She then proceeded to enter the number of spectators and the password.

Sofia stared at the information on her screen before she switched towards her social media account. She then typed the details and casually published a post.

"I've learned so many things from the senior streamers. There are respectable contents that were essential to fellow gamers. But this lady is creating a bad reputation for the good streamers. If I don't teach her a lesson, my ancestors would beat me in the afterlife," Sofia muttered softly after posting a message in public. 

At 11 pm, the majority of the netizens were active and still busy commenting about the trending topics on social media.

Some had planned to go and sleep and were prepared to shut off their devices. However, a sudden post of Sofia awakened every sleepy gamer soul that night by publishing a post that was lazily typed.

It was a response to the provocation of Krista19.

CEO UNRIVALED posted a few seconds ago: PVP 1v1 mode room ID 777. PW 1111

There were no other words on the post. She did not tag or mention any person on it either.

But, with the trending poll an ongoing issue in their gaming community, it was already understood that her post was meant for the person that was involved with her.

"Oh gosh! A custom battle room from the squad leader of the Chronos squad! Let's enter!"

"Tell the others to come. Maybe there are still slots to enter the room! This is fun!"

To a normal netizen that was surfing their social media feeds, this post was too difficult to understand. It's too vague. 

However, all the gamers who had seen this post were extremely excited by it. They quickly opened the game and logged in to their account. Then, they chatted with their friends to share the information.

Meanwhile, those who were about to lay in bed abruptly halted after seeing the post and then refocused on their phone.

Instead of sleeping, they proceed to log in to the game just so they could witness the battle. To them, there was no concept of sleep time if the game was involved.

"Custom battle room is an expensive card to activate. I hope I can enter this room!" one of netizens said while waiting for his account to log in.

Sofia's post was a clear gaming battle challenge. This time, it was not a provocation but a real challenge coming from the person that was targeted by the streamer.

PVP was a customized player vs player mode that allowed the gamers to select the number of opponents that they want to battle. But the prize of using the mode requires the owner to spend a diamond to purchase a card.

For Sofia, it was nothing as her in-game inventory was full of cards and other items. She selected 1v1 which meant it would be a one on one gameplay. The game would transport the players to the same 5 v 5 map but only the two players would be able to play inside.

The room ID and password was a feature that not all players could use. It was a different card barrier that can only be activated if the player had a card on their inventory. This card would limit the audience of their game to enter to room and be the spectator. 

Sofia did not hesitate to activate the card to disable some features of the game that were available on the normal map.

The "Room 777 & PW 1111" reposts flooded the gaming forum too.

By the time Sofia waited inside the room, all players were already aware of the issue about the streamer provoking the squad leader champion.

The capacity of the room was only for 20 spectators and two players. And before the spectators could enter the room, one must meet the condition set by the owner first.

"Hahaha, the condition in this room 777  is to like their official page of Chronos squad. That's all?!"

"Ohhh, I thought that they would require diamonds and crystals to enter the room. It was actually a simple requirement!"

The gamers were laughing in joy as they thought such condition was too easy for a custom battle room. They would have understood if the owner of the room would request an item that can be monetized.

"As expected of the leader from the champion squad. She did not even ask for anything other than the likes for their official page."

"Ahh, how admirable! This squad leader is not greedy for any items!"

Many random gamers who were not really from the official pro teams were able to enter room 777 minutes after Sofia published her post. They quickly expressed their admiration for the condition that she set to enter the room.

Those who were late had only seen a prompt that the room was full. They could only express their disappointment of not being able to spectate the match.

"This is a custom battle room. How sad, we can't witness the battle on live."

"Let's ask someone who managed to enter room 777 to record their perspective so that we can watch later!"

This custom battle room had another special setting that Sofia liked.  Because of the card barrier that she activated, it would prevent any live streaming to occur during the match.

This meant that whoever was using the account of Krista19, this user would not be able to take advantage of their battle. Her streaming would be disabled once she entered room 777.

Instead, the game will provide an option called a perspective capture for the audience inside the room if they want to record their perspectives.

Meanwhile, the user of the account Krista19 looked gloomy after seeing the challenge from Sofia. She had spent the whole day just to make sure that this teenager would give her attention. 

At first, she was happy to finally see a response from Sofia. She initially thought that as long as Sofia will reply to any of her posts, it would mean that there would be something for her to put in her content. 

But after she realized the battlefield where the challenge would be settled, her entire face turned sour.

"Ah, this kid is actually clever to pick this mode and use a custom battle room. I won't be able to stream while playing against her." 

It was clear that Sofia's move would prevent the streamer to put their battle as the content of her stream. Instead, those spectators who could record their perspective during the battle would be the ones who had the ability to share the result of their match!

The streamer's one thing that she had aimed for was taken away by Sofia just by spending the custom card. She lost her potential million views!

Krista19 expressed a long sigh and felt powerless for the first time.

She started the provocation, if she won't agree to the conditions that Sofia placed, it would be bad for her image.

She was left with no choice but to enter the custom battle room 777!

CEO UNRIVALED was already inside the room when the spectators started to enter.

Sofia observed the endless chats in the room. The words flew like water released from a dam. While the spectators were busy chatting, her opponents had not yet arrived.

"Could it be that she already fell asleep? Impossible, this is the peak hour to have so many views for the players had no more works to do. Streamers rarely sleep at this time," Sofia muttered while her eyes were focused on the empty side of Player 2.

After a few more minutes, a figure finally emerged in the side of Player 2. 

In an instant, the spectators stopped chatting and focused their attention on the battlefield.

The timer of the game showed a 20 seconds countdown for the players to prepare and choose their role and character for the match.

Sofia changed the default role in her account and picked an odd character. It was a summoner that could be used as a mage and a support role.
