Chapter 121 - Classy And Not Trashy

Name:Ceo Unrivaled Author:inflict
"As the saying goes, money cannot buy you a class. Look at you... Isn't it pathetic that you are arguing with a commoner like me?" Sofia raised her hand and combed the side of her hair. She took out her phone and glanced at the time.

She needed to point out to the man that their conversation was pointless. Arguing with a teenager that was not even half of his age was very unproductive for him. At the same time, she would not back down until he won't stop throwing a vicious gaze at her.

The man may have been quiet but the murderous expression on his face indicated that he wanted to put the lady in her place.

Sofia was too familiar with this kind of gaze. The one that meant to intimidate and declare authority.

'You want to put me in place? Hehe, I'd like to see you try and try,' Sofia commented in her mind.

Then, as if an idea came upon her mind, she raised her left arm and showed the man her watch. "Since you look down on me even before we had this conversation... it amuses me that you are willing to spend your time with someone who is wearing a cheap watch. Look carefully, it's not even functioning anymore. A little girl that could not even afford a functioning watch should not be worthy of your attention."

Her situation was clearly laughable. In the past, she was adorned with gold watches decorated with exquisite diamonds. The top quality of the brand was at her disposal anytime she wants. Now, when she needed to see the time, she had to check her phone for it.

The man only scoffed. and then the murderous aura on his face returned, "Say, what is your relationship with my son?"

This time, it was Sofia and Joey who had almost a heart attack. The man was actually Stephen's father!

"Did I hear this man correctly?" Joey whispered and looked concerned. If it was Stephen's father, then the two of them were all screwd up.

"I'm a little bit shock too. Unexpectedly, he is Stephen's father," Sofia mumbled. She could tell the resemblance of the two but she dismissed the possibility earlier. All she had thought was that the man may be a relative.

"Never have a I thought that we will meet Stephen's father tonight!" Joey exclaimed. He then took his phone and started to text their friend for confirmation.

"So, you won't answer me? Where is that sharp tongue that you have? Heh! Tell me, what is your relationship with my son?!" the man demanded with a stern tone when he noticed that the young girl's attention was not focused on him.

"Surely, with your money... you already know my relationship with Stephen, no? I'm sure you already know that Stephen and I are schoolmates and that we both play games. Am I correct, uncle?" It did not take a minute for Sofia to recover from her shock. Then, she easily put the man in the hot spot.

Since the man claimed to be successful, Sofia could tell that the man already knew the answer to his question.

"I have sent a chat to Stephen and asked him about this man. Let's just wait for his response," Joey informed Sofia.

"The bodyguards may have confiscated his mobile phone," Sofia speculated.

"Ohh... then, are we going to end our friendship with him?" Joey continued to inquire.

"No. We are still friends with Stephen. It does not change anything," Sofia replied.

"Okay. Good! Coz, he is the only great friend that I have," Joey murmured.

"Ehh? Then what about me and Claire and Clark? We are not great friends?" Sofia playfully asked.

"Oh! No, no! You guys are also great friends of mine. I just have a special bond with Stephen for we know each other longer than you guys are," Joey explained.

"I'm just kidding!" Sofia giggled then focused her attention on the man. "I'm sure that you have a folder of one of us when you hired your men to run a background check with us!"

The possibility of this man hiring a private investigator to monitor his son's movement would not be surprising to her.

What's shocking to her was that Stephen had not mentioned to their group or any members of the group that he had a wealthy family background.

"Hehe, you seemed to know it all! Indeed, according to my private investigators, my son had expressed an interest in you. Cheh! A girl like you who is so brazen ... you are not a perfect fit for my son!"

Sofia looked at him with an unfazed face. "That is true. I don't deserve to have a judgmental father-in-law! Based on your attitude, no young lady would want to be your daughter-in-law!" Sofia smirked.

"You really dare! HAH! Little girl, you have some way of your words. But it had already come out to your mouth that you are nothing but a commoner. And you can't even afford to buy a functioning watch!" the man said.

Sofia subconsciously touched the watch. "Commoners are not 'nothing'. And it is the fact that I can't afford to buy a watch. But, it's just trivial things... I could still tell the time," Sofia replied. In reality, the watch that she was using was still working earlier. Perhaps, it was terrified by the man that it decided to stop operating.

At that point, the man somehow reflected their situation too. Why is he still there? He already accomplished the reason why he went to the hotel. But somehow, he wanted to prove a point to the young lady.

Unfortunately, he was not certain what point he would prove. Did he plan to prove to Sofia that he had massive wealth? The little girl did not seem affected by his declaration.

Did he want to prove that he knows better than her? It would seem that the lady had shut him up completely rather than he would give a lecture to the little girl.

The man resumed his silence as countless thoughts were running on his head. The situation had already been out of his control.

He only wanted to scare this lady but now, it was him who could not speak anything!

"There's only one conclusion that I could think. I must be this great for you to stick your time at me. Rich people normally stick with their fellow wealthy friends. Maybe you are attracted to how rich I am. Could it be that you are after my richness that comes from self-respect and wisdom?"

Sofia continued to speak as the man had really lost his stance and was unable to think of any rebuttal.

"I want to teach you a lesson! If it meant to argue with you, then I will do it!" the man debated. He straightened his posture and clasped his hands together.

"There is one lesson that one of us would be getting right now. And it would not be me. Hehehe, wisdom does not come on age. Sorry to say but you lacked proper etiquette that those old people have."

On the other side, Mr. Greg was murmuring some words that only he could hear. ''This girl is too ordinary in terms of appearance. What she wears is also trashy. But her way of speaking implied a class."

In the perspective of his field who strived to improve the game, he could only describe Sofia in a term that he was very familiar with. Classy and not trashy.

"Wisdom? A big talk for a little girl! Hmmph! You stay away from my son!" the man threatened and walked out without waiting for her to speak up.

Joey stared at the retreating figure of the man until he completely left. "Wow, Stephen is rich? We were friends but I did not know about this stuff!"

"His relationship with that man may not be the typical father and son," Sofia said. Before Stephen left, she saw the pleading look in his eyes and there was a melancholic expression on his face.

Sofia knew that it was common for the rich kids with controlling parents not to show any enthusiasm around them. "The man said he is from district 5. And he brought three bodyguards with him. Maybe, Stephen ran away from his home."

Her mind seemed to have a replay of the earlier events that led the bodyguards to escort Stephen. Sofia sighed and pursed her lips.

"Why did he tell you that we should stay away from Stephen? Do rich people really treat us poor people like a bad friend for their children?" Joey grumbled.

"Nahh, I don't think it's about friendship in general. There's more to it," Sofia said.

"What could be the real reason for his harsh words, Sof? I am angry but also scared of the man. Yet, you actually talked back on him! I admire your courage, Sof!" Joey chuckled. He had just finished with the emotional storm that struck at his feelings harder.

Sofia exhaled and closed her eyes for a while. "Hehe, Stephen's father, I did not know of him too. Stephen did not mention it to me too. Anyway, his father just comes at me barking with rudeness. This kind of behavior, even if we are kids we should not tolerate it. It is better to draw a line of boundary on the initial meeting."
