Chapter 114 - Planning To Build Connections

Name:Ceo Unrivaled Author:inflict
After several minutes of exchanging formalities, Toni excused himself and left Sofia's table.

"Miss Sofia, I have uploaded all the pictures that we took earlier on the official page of the Chronos squad," Jing Jing reported while showing the teenager the screen of her phone that displayed the pictures.

"Sis Jing, you work so hard. Please, just enjoy the party," Sofia chuckled while her mind drifted to the past events of her last life.

During that time, when she was the respected CEO, her secretary was the most easy and flexible to work with.

No matter what time she needed her, the secretary was always available. Sometimes, if they were required to fly at midnight for some out-of-town conference, the secretary would never complain and just work with her efficiently.

There was no other employee that she knew who worked like Jing Jing. That's why, when she saw her outside the gym earlier that morning, she deliberately gave the lady her contact information.

"Ahh! It's fine. Today is Valentine's day. So this picture must be uploaded on this occasion for the viewers to relate with your squad," Jing Jing explained.

She was aware that Sofia was not requiring her to post the pictures right away. She also thought of posting it the next day.

However, Jing Jing reflected that if it would be posted the next day, their delay may affect the engagements and views of their post. Hence, she was willing to go the extra mile and designed infographics together with the photos she had taken.

"Sister Jing, you will surely reach the peak of success. I can see that you are working really hard and you are sincere with your work," Sofia muttered. Her tone was similar to a boss complimenting an employee for her good service.

"Ohh, haha thank you! Well, they say, do what you love and success will follow eventually. Right now, I just love what I do... so, I don't really mind if the time is beyond working hours now," Jing Jing answered. For some reason, she understood the meaning behind Sofia's words. It was indeed meant to praise her for her hard work. But for Jing Jing, it was nothing as she was enjoying what she was doing. So, it was not big of a deal to her.

"That's good that you have found your passion!" Sofia stated before she glanced at the entrance of the hall. There were a group of people in their early twenties who were loudly talking as they enter the hall.

The group was acting as if they owned the entire place. Seeing this kind of attitude made Sofia's brows knitted while looking at them.

"Yes, I have loved the media business for now. How about you, Miss Sofia? What is your passion aside from gaming?" Jing Jing asked as she also stared at the noisy group.

"My passion... hah! It's still too young for me to decide," Sofia fabricated. Although she knew that what she wanted to do, Jing Jing was still part of the media and not her team. She was careful not to reveal everything to the lady.

At least, not yet.

"That's right! You guys just focus on your study. Soon, you'll find your passion in life too," Jing Jing nodded her head in understanding.

"Mmnn, well right now, our passion is gaming," Sofia responded easily.

On the other side, the loud group was approached by Toni. Perhaps he was reprimanding them for the loud noises they were creating in the entire function hall.

Sofia looked away and then slightly cast another glance at the chief technology officer. She was tempted to go over to the man's table and exchange a business card with him.

Right now, they have to established connections for their squad to grow.

If it was her in the past, she would have negotiated with this man about the advancement of their software and other issues to fix the game. It was a pity that in her past life, she was not so inclined with gaming. So, she only had few memories of news about online games.

What she could remember in her last life was that the online game was once aired in the press because of the increased number of map hacks and other cheats. The media made it a big deal as the game had reached billions of users and that the fair gameplay totally became a joke.

Sofia knew this from her past memory and she felt that it would be useful for her if she gave this information to the man.

She could perhaps negotiate with the man for certain profit for them to have a preemptive measure of those incidents that she had retained in the fragments of her memories.

But, she could not bring herself to come at him for the reason that her image as the squad leader may be tainted with controversy.

People could easily make an issue out of just a simple thing. She was certain that some may give a different meaning once she makes an appointment with the man.

However, with her capability, she was still waiting and searching for a right timing.

The Chronos squad may be gamers but there was a great advantage that she had that the other players don't.

It was that her soul came from the future. And that, she had already known most of the issues and problems that the game would soon face based on the media report that she had remembered.

Therefore, if she could present such an issue to the developer before it happened, her squad may secure a profit from it.

When Jing Jing noticed that Sofia was in a deep trance, she also busied herself by checking some of the comments on the Chronos official page.

"I'll get food now," Claire announced and looked at Sofia as well as the others. Her eyes wandered briefly to the other guest and just observed their movements.

To say, Claire was very observant in real life. Not only in the game that she played as the assassin role, but this character was also really within her.

Even with the changes in Sofia's behavior, she was still observing her friend.

"Let's go together, Claire!" Clark stood first and joined Claire. He was just waiting for the lady to move.

Claire nodded in agreement and the two did not wait for their companions to speak. They turned around and walked away.

"Aiyaa, these two are doing PDA even if they have not yet claimed their relationship as official. Does this means that if they become officially a couple we will be drowned with their public display of affection?!" Joey scoffed as he also walked behind them.

He slightly shook his head and glanced at Stephen. But after seeing that his friend was also paying attention to Sofia, Joey proceeded to move on his own. He could only release a long sigh and did not complain anymore.

Stephen waited for Sofia but she looked as if she was in deep thought. The lady was still devising a plan of how she could establish a connection with the gaming company. She knew that she can easily do it but she had to pick a timing to open up her ideas.

"Sof, I'll get you food. You can stay here and rest. What do you like to have?" Stephen softly asked after a while of waiting for the lady.

Sofia finally looked at him as if she just realized that the man was staring at her.

"Uhm, let's get some. I'll decide once I see the food there. Sis Jing, let's grab our food!" Sofia stated. She set aside all her plans and just focused on the food first.

"Yes, yes! It's better to get the food now that the guests are not yet flocking the main buffet table!" Jing Jing commented and put her phone away.

Their table was left empty however, there was a small note at the center with scribbled words.

"Reserved for the Champions!"

This note had successfully prevented another guest to occupy their table. Hence, they did not leave anything and just went towards the food area directly.

Many attendees of the event started to arrive and one figure instantly caught their attention. The man looked charming yet there was an aura of loneliness surrounding his table.

He sat there at the table all by himself.

"We are so lucky to see Mr. Washington in person!"

"Girl, this man is single and rich! What if he accidentally likes me? OMG!"

"Geez! You ladies are dreaming! Obviously, with this man's handsome face, I'm sure that he has plenty of girlfriends!"

"Tsk! What girlfriend? Sister, today is Valentine's Day! If the man is in a relationship, he would not attend this tournament and party!"

A prominent figure like Mr. Greg Washington made almost all the attending guests in the Seaside Function Hall be careful of how they behave.

But most of the ladies could not help but secretly engaged in chitchats of how good-looking the man was.

This was the very first time that a big shot would join them all the way until the victory party.

It was too rare to meet a formidable person like him and all of them understood how important the man was.
