Chapter 109 - Work Hard

"Whoahh! Good!" Sofia looked at Claire and then glanced at Clark with admiration. She had caught the two held their hands earlier and she also sensed that there was an attraction between them. Hence, the old soul within the teenager's body instantly gave approval.

This was the kind of feeling that she had missed in her last life. She never engaged in a romantic relationship and she felt somewhat regretful.

"Life is short. Enjoy it! As long as you know your boundaries," Sofia told her two members.

Now that the feelings of the two were laid before the group, the other two remaining men of the Chronos squad giggled seeing the cute expression of their two friends.

"Good for you, Clark! Now, make Claire say yes!" Stephen patted him gently.

Clark had gone full red as if he over applied some blush on in his face. Claire's cheeks also turned pinkish.

"My... my... my! You two should go out! Today is a perfect date! Ahhh... I will support you two!" Joey clapped his hands in excitement. At some point, his expression even looked more girly than Sofia's face.

"Hehe, Why not huh?! Then, I will court you Claire until you say yes!" Clark stated while suppressing his face to grin widely.

"Good luck!" Clair playfully moved both of her eyebrows up several times.

"Hehe, I have great luck. Look at me. I can't even barely play the game yet, you have accepted me to be the mage user. I would never be able to experience being a champion if I lack the luck!" Clark stated with a sense of pride in his tone.

"Ayiiee... Alright, you look good at each other! Just be girlfriend and boyfriend already!" Stephen supported that earned a glare from Sofia.

"What's the rush?" Sofia slightly scowled.

"Didn't you say that life is short? Since these two liked each other then, they can just skip the courting stage?" Stephen defended while using the initial words that Sofia had said.

"Awe... thank you, Stephen! But, I think Clark should court me so that he would be able to familiarize my attitude first. We may be compatible by appearance but in the long run, it is the character that matters," Claire grinned.

"That's right! Even if they like each other, they have to familiarize their attitude first," Sofia looked at Claire proudly.

Stephen shrugged and did not answer. At this point, they have also reached their place.

"Okay, I will pick you two at eight pm?" Clark inquired when Sofia and Claire stepped out of the car.

"Yes, see ya!" Claire chirped while Sofia nodded her head before the two started going towards the entrance of their building.

"Sof, what do you think about Clark and me being in a relationship?" Claire suddenly asked while they were going towards the hallway of the building.

"It will be easy at first but you need to work hard when you'll be in a serious relationship," Sofia casually replied.

"What do you mean?" Claire momentarily halted her steps and looked at Sofia in the face.

"Well, other than being a student, and a gamer, we don't have a special background. However, Clark is from a respected family in our district. So, some people may look down on you. You have to prepare yourself for that," Sofia stated with full of seriousness.

Even if she had never been involved in a relationship, from the perspective of having sufficient wealth in the past, she was fully aware that at some point Claire's social standing would be an issue.

She had already met Clark's parents and even though the two had been hospitable to them at that time of their meeting, she could sense their aloofness within their warm treatment.

She knew that there was a reservation of their friendliness.

But this kind of judgment was only possible because she had also been at the peak level of her success before. Such attitude was understandable.

"I don't mean to discourage you, Claire. In fact, I will be one of your supporters if you become a couple. And if people started to question if you are the right girl for Clark, we will prove to them that they should not judge you," Sofia gave her a sympathetic smile.

"Hmm, thank you, Sof! I will work hard," Claire responded with full of optimism.

This kind of attitude made Sofia admired their youthful age. The age where there was nothing seemed impossible in reaching their dreams.

"Yes, any way you have me. You can count on me," Sofia assured her.

"Ahh, I'm moved to tears! Of course I will always need your support! You better not get tired of me!" Claire dramatically frowned her brows while wiping the side of her eyes.

"Tsk! Let's change our outfit now and go to that party! Don't be so dramatic!" Sofia chuckled.

"Alright!" Now, what should I wear?" Claire asked.

"A simple dress and sandals? As long as it's decent. We are junior students. Surely they won't expect us to wear a lavish attire!" Sofia responded with a kind smile.

"Okay!" Claire rushed towards her room.

Sofia just stared at the retreating figure of the lady until she vanished from her sight. A small curve lingered on her lips before she moved her feet towards her room.

After entering the door, she stretched her body and quickly made a coffee. Then, she opened her phone and checked all the unread emails and messages in her inbox.

There were not too many. Brent from the Lee Gaming squad congratulated their group. WINS from the FAB_Gamers also did the same.

Then, she also noticed the response coming from Jing Jing.

It was just one word ending with an ellipsis but this reply held so much meaning.

From Sis Jing: Okay...

Sofia combed her hair and softly laughed still staring at the message from Jing Jing. She had seen this type of response from the lady too many times in her last life. The only difference was that, it usually had her name on it.

Her line of sight moved towards her glass table, which showed the reflection of her face. She sighed and looked down a little longer.

Sofia could not help but stare at her reflection. Countless thoughts crossed her mind while looking at the face.

"This youthful face... The new identity... I still have a vague memory of my last life," Sofia murmured before she took a sip of her coffee.

A loud sigh escaped from her mouth before she gathered her back upward and leaned on her chair. She then opened her phone again. This time, she took a peek at the hype of social media.

Her fingers navigated towards the trending topics and she saw that the Chronos squad was still on the top 1 trending.

"Jing Jing's company had done well!" she complimented after seeing the design of their page and the wholesome posts that were published a few hours ago.

Her eyes landed on the time displayed above her phone. It was 7:30 PM.

"Ah! Since when did the time go fast?" Sofia frowned.

She quickly placed her phone on the table and dashed towards the bathroom.

After thirty minutes, she was all set and waited for Claire to come into her room.

This had been their routine. Claire would usually go up to her unit while she just waits. But then, she realized that the lady may have trouble finding an outfit. After all, her friend just got asked by Clark!

Without wasting her time, she moved down and sprinted towards the apartment of Claire.

As she knocked on the door, Claire instantly appeared and took a peek at her.

"Hehe, Sof, I put some make-up!" Claire stated while holding an eyelash curler in her hand.

"Yeah, that's a good color of choice! And the boys may tease the two of you later. So, it's better if you place blush on," Sofia gazed at Claire with an approval look on her face. Knowing that her friend would also have this kind of reaction, it was safe for her to really place makeup.

"Thanks! I should be ready by now! Let's go!" Claire grabbed a small purse and placed her phone inside.

"I thought you are having a hard time choosing a dress!" Sofia joked while looking at Claire locking her unit.

"Nah! I only have two dresses, what's so hard to choose? It's either this one or that white one! And I think this one is more appropriate, right?" Claire gestured as she turned around. The purple dress she wore flutter perfectly in the process.

"It looked good on you!" Sofia nodded and gave Claire a thumbs up.

"Your outfit looks good on you too, Sof! But is it that you are just wearing lipstick? Don't you want to wear more make-up?" Claire asked.

"I ordered this dress online!" Sofia lightly laughed. She was wearing a combination of red dress accentuated with red fabric.

"And your makeup?" Claire emphasized.

"Tsk! The civilians in my face might become rebellious if I place foundation and other products on my face," Sofia shrugged.

By now, Claire had completely understood what her friend meant. Sofia was afraid that her pimples would worsen if she put other beauty products on her face.
