Chapter 84 - Championship (2)

"Hehe," Sofia smiled while staring at her tank standing on the lobby of the game. She glanced at her teammates and the group shared the same look and excitement. She could also tell that they were slightly nervous. "Just play."

The screen displayed a five seconds countdown timer and continued to move before the players would be transported to the battlefield. All noises on the entire place have not yet tone down. 

All audience held their breath and take note of the player's characters. Some took pictures and joined the social media craze of hashtag championship and many other trending posts. There were also few audiences who were merrily doing a live broadcast on their personal accounts.

One thing was for sure, their eyes were plastered towards the big screen on the front stage and then switched to their mobile phones. This alternate movement of their heads were almost synchronized if someone would see them in a bird's eye view. 

Meanwhile, the two commentators absentmindedly tapped their hands on the desk while counting the numbers on the timer in their head.

When the countdown reached zero, all of the people watching in the game - may it be online or inside the gym, felt deep wildness tugged inside their souls. A different energy was unleashed within them without their knowing.

It was the kind of moment that they shared the same burning feeling of excitement in their chest that they had never felt before.

The entire theme of the battlefield made all their morale turned up.

The large screen on stage showed the mecha theme map.

"Ohh my gosh! This is a new map! Excellent!!!"

"Wow! What a beautiful theme! I have not seen this map before! Is that new?"

"Yes, that's new! They released a promotional video of that map before."

"As expected for the premium players! There is no way they would end this tournament without showing us the best! HAHA, Nice map!"

The entire gym was filled with buzzing compliments when the new appearance of the upgraded version of the map was displayed. They instantly applauded after noticing the squad who activated the map.

Who else had the capability other than the Lee Gaming squad?

Even some pro players on the audience side forgot to close their mouth as they gape in astonishment.

"BOSS WINS, I am having goosebumps of this map! Even though the game is just about to start, I can now feel the intense joy just by seeing the match! Is this normal?" one of the members of the FAB_Gamers squad muttered while dramatically clenching his chest.

"It's normal! Look around," WINS chuckled while there was also a glint of pride in his eyes.

When the man looked on his left side, there was really an older man who had his mouth opened and his saliva was pouring out from his lips down to his chin.

"Yikes! The man over there had forgotten to close his mouth! Everybody is really surprised! I see, I see..." the man force a smile and whispered to WINS.

Even though no one on the side of the Chronos squad bought the upgraded map, the game feature would still take effect on them too. 

The only indication of who owned the upgraded map was the extra star that would be displayed on the side of their usernames. 

In their case, the star appeared on the Lee Gaming squad players.

"Ha! New map! Nice!" Sofia's eyes also sparkled when she saw her character stood mightily on the ground near their base. 

She scanned on the entire feature with great appreciation. The color of their base was bright red and all their towers had a similar tone. Meanwhile, on the side of their opponent, the color was vibrant black hinting at some sort of demonic vibe on their territory.

"HAHA, I like this Lee Gaming squad already! They really made this kind of preparation!" Claire took a sharp breath while her character ran towards the jungle.

"This is the latest available map theme of the game. If I'm not mistaken, it's called mecha..." the younger commentator started to project while immediately searching for the information on the new map. 

None of the commentators nor the organizers of the tournament were prepared for this kind of execution. 

"Awesome! Awesome!" the operator on the game repeated while looking at the robotic NPCs on the game.

It was clear that the Lee Gaming Squad had already pulled the heart of everyone watching the match to like them just by displaying the new map.

After the crowd recovered from the surprise they immediately followed the movements of the players.

On the side of the Chronos squad, Sofia's tank and Stephen's marksman were sprint side by side towards the bottom lane. 

Claire was already hiding on the green grass and was starting to deal with the jungle monsters. Clark was still in the position of the middle lane while Joey was on the top lane.

There was no signal yet from any of their members. All of them were focused on their lanes as they started to clear the first wave of creeps.

"The Chronos squad is playing a pretty relax gameplay right now. I have a hunch... but just a hunch, based on their arrangement that they may give us a long game for this final round!" the older commentator started to analyze.

"That's right. They are not even stealing the jungle monsters of their opponents! That's not what we have seen on their earlier matches," the other commentator responded.

"Towers are equal, gold are equal but the EXP level of the Lee Gaming squad is higher of just a single-digit compare to the Chronos squad!"

"Uh-uh, this is because of their skin upgrades. Part of the benefits when you use a skin. While the Chronos squad is using their regular characters, the Brent Gaming squad members are fully upgraded!"

The commentators continued to discuss the stats of both squads while still researching the pieces of information on the new map. 

It may not sound significant to the audience to discuss the map features but it is very important for the commentator to highlight the point of the map. If they can give a thorough explanation of the map, it would be an extra profit for the game developers. 

Not only the profit for the developers but also it would be an opportunity for the commentators to display their expertise on the game. They were hired to do the job for that particular reason. 

To give expert comments!

The older commentator turned off all their mic and casually asked his companion for the information of the map.

"What did it say? Damn! I have studied all the maps of this game last night but I did not saw this robotic theme!"

The younger commentator finally forwarded his phone containing all the information on the map. "There it is! I have seen this map on the beta mode,"

"Ohh, I did not log in to my beta account recently. Alright let me see," the older commentator quickly skimmed all the details of the map.

In just a matter of few breaths, these two have already grasped the details about the upgrades. They instantly resumed providing their comments.

"Hehe, Both squads are still playing safe. They are trying to build their items and move in the map cautiously!" the older commentator muttered. He then took a sharp breath and continued, "Anyway, this brilliant appearance of the battlefield that you are seeing right now is the newly released mecha theme map. Eye-catching isn't it? This is the robotic theme that was previously available in the beta server. Now the game released this for the public! Be sure to buy this map for you to have a more engaging and futuristic vibe while playing!"

While these commentators continued to speak, all the members of the Lee Gaming squad had reached level four. Their character skills were all available to use.

On the middle lane, Clark's mage was facing Brent's sister which was also a mage.

In the early game, it was very common to see the mages taking over the middle lane while assassins were farming. Sometimes it would also be the tank and marksman doing the jungle, depending on the team's strategy.

Since all the Lee Gaming squad had reached level four, their marksman and tank also joined the middle lane.

Clark was trying to avoid being caught by the three opponents. He led his character to the innermost part of the tower and casually throw skills. 

At first, he was still reluctant to signal his teammate and ask for help, but after noticing that the enemy assassin was also in the middle lane and was just hiding on the grass, he quickly pressed the signal for backup.

"Ohh, look at that! The middle lane became jammed with so many characters now! One mage from the Chronos squad vs four of his opponent! And the mage already request a backup! Good choice brother! But will he get a backup from the other members of the Chronos squad?" the younger commentator immediately narrated.

"The situation is tough! Who would get the first blood among the two contenders?" the older commentator quickly followed.

Despite these simultaneous questions, all the audience had become silent. They were all looking for Clark moving side to side just to dodge the attack of the four opponents.

Claire was the first to move towards their middle lane, but she was not throwing her skills to attack the enemies. Her character was hiding on the grass just waiting for the perfect timing to assassinate an enemy.

"This is really a hard situation for the Chronos mage given the fact that the tank of the Chronos squad had not yet reached level 4. They have to avoid the Lee Gaming squad until their skills became available!" the older commentator stated.

"Using skin upgrade is really beneficial!" the young commentator laughed slightly.
