Chapter 68 - Reasonable Vs Negotiable

The rushed footsteps of Jing Jing caught the attention of the bypassers outside the gym.

They cast a weird gaze at her, but Jing Jing was too busy to mind anything other than her great opportunity.

She had finally obtained a great scope and would soon join the trending discussions online!

"Wait a minute!" she suddenly spoke to herself. Jing Jing stared at the final contract on her phone. However, her excitement slowly dissolved and her face somehow revealed a slight reluctance.

As she took a step on the entrance door, Jing Jing halted and remembered something. The guard gave her a respectful smile but Jing Jing was just staring blankly at the space.

"If I interview the Chronos squad, what its gonna be to the FDS Press Company?" Jing Jing dropped her enthusiasm as she made considerations. She recollected her quick chat with Drake and his new lover.

The rival company had threatened her that they had an exclusive contract with the tournament! If she would pursue to interview with the Chronos squad, the possibility of getting into trouble was also big!

While Jing Jing was caught in a deep trance, the figure of Sofia emerged in the hallway and was walking towards her.

"How's the proposal?" Sofia casually approached.

The clear tone in her voice pulled Jing Jing out of her reverie. Jing Jing shook her head gently and offered a generous smile while they had eye contact.

"The proposal is here, ma'am," Jing Jing subconsciously stated and offered her phone to Sofia.

She waited for several breaths as Sofia looked over the files.

"Okay, come with me," Sofia nodded afterward and turned away.

'Our age gap was obviously big. But this young lady's tone... this is not just a simple voice of a young lady ordering something. It's different! There is so much authority on the way she spoke! Which elite family could this young lady belong to?' Jing Jing continued to walk next to Sofia. She was secretly observing the young lady while a lot of thoughts came into her mind.

Working in the press company allowed Jing Jing to have various experiences dealing with rude and bratty teens. She had a fair share amount of being dictated by a much younger and demanding client. However, she could not help but compare how Sofia's voice gave a different effect on her.

Just the simple 'come with me' from Sofia made all her worry about the possible conflict of FDS Press Company gone!

Jing Jing cast a quick look from Sofia on her overall figure. 'She is standing beside me and we are almost the same height. But why do I felt as if this young lady is like a tower that I need to look up?'

Jing Jing could not help but examined her thoughts as she felt that Sofia seemed so high. Even her boss Wang does not have the capacity to make her feel so small!

"Sister Jing, I have looked through the contract and I will make a few revisions on it." Sofia started to speak while her face was still looking on Jing Jing's phone.

"What matters do you want to revise, ma'am?" Jing Jing politely asked.

Her words made Sofia paused. In her last life, she had heard this line from her secretary often times. Such a nostalgic phrase that occurred in her memories. 'What matters do you want to revise, ma'am?'

The two became silent for a few breaths. One was waiting for a response, the other was reminiscing her memories in the past...

"It's good that you make the contract exclusive. I will agree to it. But, I don't want the arrangement in clause 8, refers to the finances. It says that we will be paid for several thousand?" Sofia suddenly spoke while Jing Jing was still busy observing her overall appearance.

"OH! Regarding the salary, this is the usual amount our company pays to our client. The price is six digits and that is very reasonable," Jing Jing stated.

She had made a bunch of other contracts that involved a team before. Hence, Jing Jing was aware that what she was offering was more than sufficient for Sofia's squad.

The two of them continued walking leisurely down the hallway. The way they talk was too casual that it was like a conversation between two friends.

Not even a single person inside the gym would suspect that these two figures were in the middle of negotiating a serious contract!

"Reasonable," Sofia mumbled while looking for another term in her mind.

At this point, there were too many formalities that they have disregarded. First, Jing Jing created the contract on a gaming computer shop. In a normal circumstance, this kind of document needed to be crafted inside a private office with a lawyer!

On top of it, the discussion of contract should normally happen at the quiet meeting place, private office, or conference room!

Even Jing Jing realized that their arrangement right now was very unconventional! But as she observed, Sofia seemed to not mind about this trivial matter. Perhaps, she also understood the overall situation.

"I agree that this is a reasonable price. These six digits can be divided by me and my teammates equally. However, I want to negotiate," Sofia paused and looked at Jing Jing in the eye.

"Negotiate? Of course! Ehem!" Jing Jing cleared her throat concealing the surprised tone in her voice.

Sofia did agree that the price that the lady had written for their salary was reasonable. However, she also knew that it was negotiable!

"I want a 25% of the earning for every published article about my squad, regardless of the form," Sofia directly said.

Upon hearing her words, Jing Jing coughed violently. She choked herself with her own saliva!

Nothing could prepare her for what Sofia would negotiate. She thought that the young lady would ask for an increased amount of their salary. But it turned out that she wanted a share of the overall profit from their exposure!

No matter how experienced Jing Jing was, this kind of negotiation was still beyond her! She had never experienced that the other party would ask for a percentage rather than the fixed amount!

"You want a 25% of the earning? Young miss, I cannot decide this. I have to call and consult my boss first," Jing Jing took a deep breath after recovering from her initial shock.

"Yes, please. That's the only revision that I want to make. If your boss will agree, then we can proceed to sign this contract," Sofia told Jing Jing and returned her mobile phone.

"Okay, miss. Please excuse me," Jing Jing bowed and moved a little farther from Sofia.

"I'll wait here," Sofia said and stood on the opposite corner of the hallway.
