Chapter 301 - The Chronos Squad's Endorsement Of Shoe Brand (1)

After Jing Jing and Sofia's brief discussion about Mr. Jonathan, they went in a separate direction.

Jing Jing proceed to approach the front desk area and went to Derek. She noticed that was looking on his computer, fully immersed in what he was doing. Slowly, she leaned closer to his desk and secretly looked at the monitor. She saw that he was sorting out the names in the list of their customers that day.

"Derek, how are you? Is it tiring to check the list?" Jing Jing casually asked the man.

Hearing Jing Jing's query, Derek quickly looked up and gave her a friendly nod. "Ms. Jing JIng! It's great. Hehe... Thank you for asking. I am just looking at the names in the list of this reservation because I am making a separate note. I don't want to make a mistake in the first day of my job, " he politely responded.

"I did see what you are doing. Hehe, keep up the good work! Anyway, are you done making separate note? Or are you still busy?" Jing Jing followed and pointed to the computer since the man was looking at the monitor when she approached him.

Derek's job was not much of a physically exhausting responsibility.  He would just sit and only need to inspect the customers to make sure that they really booked the table reservation.

After the customers were settled on their tables, his obligation should be done. He had nothing else to do other than observe the dining area and help check the movements of their customers.

"No, I'm not busy. I was just double-checking the names in the reservation list for today and making notes. But, I can finish it later. Do you have instructions, Ms. Jing Jing?" he politely inquired.

"Yes, I have here the list for the next week's reservation," Jing Jing answered and showed him the file."

"Woah... fully-booked tables next week?! Cool!" Derek was also amazed after reading the file.

"It's not just a long day... it will be a long week," Jing Jing playfully said and gave her phone to Derek. The man quickly transferred the file to the pc and returned Jing Jing's phone in no time!

"I will inform my brothers later," Derek stated referring to the entire Double Sigma fraternity members.

"Be sure to put proper shifting schedule of your brothers. Just in case some of them would complain and talk bad about the management here... I will really hunt you down and demand your explanation," Jing Jing emphasized in a playful tone. It was Sofia's order to her. To make sure that their staff won't feel burn-out, they have to be mindful of shifting schedules.

Although Jing Jing was the standing manager of their business, she had given the two fraternity leaders the freedom to make the decision of the arrangement when it comes to their members. The shifting schedule of the staff, as well as allocating their responsibilities, Derek and Danny could freely decide on it without asking for any approval from Sofia.

"Ms. Jing Jing, you are joking... my members, our brotherhood is extremely solid. I won't make arrangements that would put them in disadvantage," Derek slightly laughed. Then, he made a gesture of salute by putting his hand at the center of his chest before he continued. "Rest assured, I will handle and take care of my member's welfare properly, Ms. Jing Jing. I will make sure that Miss Sofia won't be disappointed by the Double Sigma fraternity!"

Jing Jing gently smiled at his sincere expression. She just nodded her head and gave him the file before walking in the direction of Sofia.

At that time, Sofia was having a conversation with Danny...

"Miss Sofia, are you ready to go?" Jing Jing asked and gave Danny a glance. She could tell that Sofia's conversation seemed to have reached an end.

Sofia nodded her head and responded to Jing Jing, "Yes. I'm just giving Danny a reminder. Sister Jing, if our food on the serving dishes is not enough, please assist Danny to buy more ingredients to cook extra. Later on, we will just calculate everything."

"Certainly! Miss Sofia, I have another concern... b-but I'm not sure if it's appropriate to ask," Jing Jing calmly responded.

Sensing Jing Jing's reluctance, Sofia's soft giggle that turned into a laughter followed. "Hahaha, sister Jing, what is it? Just say it."

"Please don't be offended, Miss Sofia. I just want to ask if you want to bring cash? I will tell the cashier to prepare money?" Jing Jing inquired. Aside from being the manager, Sofia had also entrusted her with the business money.

"Hmmn... I don't think we need to spend money on the endorsement activity, sister Jing. We will just take pictures... and then go back here," Sofia giggled.

Not bringing money! This kind of attitude was actually something that she had practiced in her last life. Because her Summer's family was just excessively wealthy, people in district 2 would feel very honored to give her favors to build a connection with her. Thus, wherever she go, money was part of her shadow and it voluntarily followed her direction. It was undeniably a very successful life that was cut short.

But with her new life, the logic of their situation was naturally not the same. The reason why she refused to bring cash was to make sure that the money that they earned would also be used to support the growth of their business alone. Not just to be spent on a different purpose.

"I've never entered the Jones Studio. But, since the management of the shoe brand had made its arrangement there, there may be small fees that the squad needs to pay?" Jing Jing reasoned. Unlike Sofia, she completely felt worried about the bizarre personality of Sofia not bringing cash. She was used to bringing more than enough money in her wallet all the time!

"Since they made the arrangement, such fees are also paid by them. Sister Jing, we will be fine," Sofia smiled at Jing Jing with a reassuring gaze. Then, she faced her members who stood on her side and asked them, "Do you guys think we will need to bring cash?"

"No need, Sof!" Joey quickly answered, unwilling to spend the first money that they earned.

"We have packed our lunch, and we also ate plenty of food during breakfast, we will be fine. Hehe, it's better to save our money!" Claire supported too.

As for Clark and Stephen, they just nodded their heads and did not speak a word. Clark has personal money while Stephen is not really much concerned about bringing cash. He was reliant on his bank cards for most of the time.

"Then, let's go! We will arrive at the studio earlier than our schedule so that we can take a rest and won't be late. See you later, sister Jing... Danny," Sofia muttered. She exchange one final glance at Jing Jing and Danny before she turned around and went towards the exit area. Her members simply trailed behind her.

The group hastily made their way from the crowd of people outside their establishment towards Clark's van. Before they boarded the vehicle, their eyes widened in shock at the scene on the side of the road.

There was a long line of cars parking from both sides!

Sofia subconsciously scratch her head and felt astounded by the sight. "Are these cars owned by our customers?" she mumbled a question in a tone full of disbelief.

"I guess?" Clark said while staring at the cars too. "Who would have thought that the most feared location in district 7 will become the parking space! If it was from before, no one would dare leave their cars unattended to avoid potential damages."

"Wow.... I did not know that things would be like this here," Sofia gulped. Never in her imagination, she had seen people living their cars on the side of the road. Such was also her lapses as she had not anticipated that their customers would drive their own cars!

The district 7 was not yet a fully developed place. And based on her observation, except for the public utility vehicles, the highway almost looked deserted.

But now, seeing the long line of cars, she could not help but ask, "Just how did citizens in this district have this many cars and not drive around?"

Luckily, even if there were many cars parked on both sides of the road, there are fewer cars traveling the intersection street. Thus, the scene did not cause traffic. If their place was like a developed city, those car owners would have been ticketed for illegal parking! Some of their cars were probably towed too!

"In our next business project, let's purchase the land at the back and that side and convert some portion of it as parking space," Sofia immediately pointed to the area that she wished to buy. "This kind of parking on the side of the road is a clear obstruction of traffic! We might get in trouble for this!" Sofia asserted and entered the van.

Not long after, they were going towards the northern downtown area of the district.. Inside the van, the group had closed their eyes and were fallen asleep.
