Chapter 293 - Soft Opening Day (11)

Sofia stood still on the side of the road, the reporter also stared at her. Just by the expression on his face, one could tell that he really disliked Sofia in their first meeting...

"Bro, that lady is CEO UNRIVALED. Back there, you acted so rudely," Ying told his companion with serious expression on his face. But the reporter only scoffed and did not even spare a glance at him.

The sound of the roaring engine suddenly erupted as several motorcycles raced on the street. It gave the reporter a good reason to ignore Ying.

On the side, their cameraman exhaled. "Ying, you don't know... but, that girl was the reason why we were fired in the FDS Press Company."

"Woah... you guys work at FDS Press Company? You've never told me about it!" Ying asked in surprise.

"It was not worth mentioning!" the reporter sounded with full of bitterness in his tone.

"Ehh... what had actually happened?" Ying questioned.

"What happened was simple! We want to get an interview with her Chronos squad. Yet, all of them denied us with the opportunity to be part of the trending topic!" the cameraman stated.

"Back then, our former company secured a contract to the organizer of the district tournament. But, that girl refused to be interviewed by our company. She was so adamant about it and even made us a laughingstock of that event," the reporter sighed.

"So, you cannot really blame us if we have hatred towards her. She forced us to end our flourishing careers! I don't like her attitude too. But, I'm too old to join in a verbal confrontation," the cameraman also expressed.

It was indeed the day when Sofia refused to be interviewed by the FDS Press Company because she had already contracted an exclusive press with Jing Jing which was the press company owned by boss Wang!

In fact, the reason why Sofia was still taking her time to observe the group was that she was also trying to figure out where she had met the reporter too. She just couldn't remember the exact event, however, she was certain that it was not their first meeting!

While Sofia remained on the side of the road, Stephen and Joey were having their time checking the online trends. Jing Jing was also replying to random comments and expressing gratitude to their supporter.

Out of a sudden, Danny quietly approached their table. He placed his hands behind his back and gave them a polite smile.

"I have prepared a breakfast table, Ms. Jing Jing. Uhhm... Mr. Clark and Ms. Claire are already there," Danny announced. He then raised his hands and gestured them to head towards the kitchen area.

Jing Jing stopped typing in her phone and looked up. She quickly returned his warm smile and stood from her seat. "You don't have to be so formal to us. Hehe, Danny, we are all friends here."

To think that the man was one of the leaders of the terrifying fraternity in their district. His calm behavior in front of them was truly unprecedented.

"Mmn," Danny slightly nodded his head. "Miss Sofia... did she leave?" he suddenly asked after realizing that Sofia was not anywhere around the area.

"Big bro, Sofia is meeting with the wedding organizers to decorate the venue for the wedding reception," Joey initiated a response with his usual cool and friendly smile. His tone also conveyed a sense of familiarity and closeness.

Danny could not help but stare at him for a few seconds before he curled his lips into a wide smile. "Ohh..."

"Thank you for preparing our breakfast, Danny. By the way, our cooks have finished cooking all the dishes?" Jing Jing followed.

'Our cooks,' Danny almost trembled how his fraternity members were addressed so formally with respect.  Such words deeply moved him that he stood frozen for a while. He subconsciously took a deep breath and gathered back his composure. "Ahh... Y-Yes, everything is ready, Ms. Jing Jing. We had placed the dishes in the serving pan," Danny simply replied.

"Great! I will call Sofia first. The two of you can go there. Wait for us," Jing Jing instructed and strode towards the door.

"Big bro, you don't mind if we call you that, right? Big bro?" Joey suddenly asked while they were walking in the opposite direction towards the kitchen area.

"Hehe, of course, you can call me that," Danny spoke.

"Nice! Big bro, can you teach us how to fight in close combat?" Joey inquired with the sparks of his eyes full of interest!

With his question, Danny felt extremely at loss. In his mind, such a request was actually something that was too random. It sounded very inappropriate.

"Don't mind him, bro," Stephen spoke at Danny and turned around to scowl and furrow his brows towards Joey. "He is just like that. Spontaneous and not mindful of his words."

"I am just asking! What's wrong with me asking him casually?" Joey defended unable to see any problem with his question.

"Heh. Bro, you are not asking....It's not that simple! Ahh... teaching you their fighting style will never happen... you are insulting the brotherhood of their fraternity. Respect their boundary," Stephen whispered in silence.

"No way! What do you mean boundry?" Joey probed.

"There is this so-called boundary when it comes to learning how to combat with a frat leader. You need to be a member before you could cross that boundary! And not all members are guaranteed to have that opportunity too," Stephen explained in a hushed tone.

"Ohh...." Joey gulped and the entire conversation went into silence. Now, Joey carefully glanced at Danny and felt so awkward. He then leaned at Stephen's ear and asked, "What should I do? I think he was offended."

Danny lowered his gaze and was staring on the floor while the three of them continued walking. He also felt conflicted about how to respond to Joey's random request.

"I don't have any idea! Do you think his fraternity is something that you could just insult? Bro, you really need to think first before speaking," Stephen shrugged his shoulder and let him sat straight.

Joey helplessly sighed. He had lost his courage to look at Danny or speak to him. In the end, he only consoled himself, 'I will ask Sofia for help later.'

Meanwhile, Jing Jing could not help but raise her eyebrows after seeing what Sofia was doing. The young teen was staring blankly in space as if her mind was actually exploring the entire universe!

"Miss Sofia, why are you alone here? The organizers?" she curiously asked.

With Jing Jing's sudden appearance, Sofia finally snapped back to reality. She slightly rubbed the side of his head and fixed her hair using her hand.

"They already left, sister Jing. Do you need anything?" Sofia responded and faced Jing Jing.

"Ahh... I don't need anything yet. Hehe... But, Danny had prepared a breakfast for us. I think you need to eat. After an hour, this place will be very busy! We need enough energy," Jing Jing answered.

"Hmmn, I am not hungry for now, sister Jing. I won't have breakfast," Sofia softly refused.

"Ohh..." Jing Jing paused and felt uneasy. She did not expect that Sofia would actually refuse the breakfast!

Jing Jing cleared her throat and asked curiously, "Miss Sofia, are you waiting for another guest here?"

Perhaps, there was a much more important thing that the young teen would do for her to decline eating breakfast. If so, she would really feel guilty eating inside while their leader was having a meeting outside!

However, Sofia only shook her head. "Sister Jing, see those three people on the opposite side of the road? I feel like I have met that man who was holding the microphone."

Jing Jing studied the features of the group. Then, she quickly recalled the district tournament interview.

"Those were the staff of the contracted press during the last tournament. You refused them to have an interview because of boss Wang's agreement as exclusive press," Jing Jing quickly replied.

"Ahhh... " Sofia trailed and finally remembered the incident too. "They are really familiar. Now, I know who they are! No wonder they looked annoyed at me!"

"Annoyed at you? What happened? Are they harassing you, Miss Sofia?" Jing Jing suddenly felt worried. She scanned the surroundings to see if the group have their companions. Only when she was certain that no one was hiding, she sighed, "Did they approach you, Miss Sofia?"

"Not really. They don't want to speak to me... In fact, they helped me a lot," Sofia smiled.

"How did they help you?" Jing Jing probed further.

Sofia quickly summarized their encounters. "They made a wrong assumption that could potentially give us benefits. They may report a different person as the owner of our business."

Jing Jing scratched the top of her head. She could only smile after realizing the mistake. "It's not too late to confront them!" If you have complaints, tell me directly, Miss Sofia. I'll have my means to deal with them."

"Nothing... they did not offend me. I think it's me who offended them, sister Jing," Sofia giggled. "Hmmn... Let's go and eat," she stated and gave one last glance at the the reporter.. Then, the two of them walked inside.
