Chapter 263 - Main Dish In Talks

Name:Ceo Unrivaled Author:inflict
Waking up with such a piece of big news, the citizens in District 7 continued to chatter about their speculations around with so much enthusiasm. Whether they meet a stranger on the sidewalk or the vendors in the market, everyone was so hyped.

"Lady Grace is really going to tie a knot? Who could really be the lucky man who won her heart?"

"Do you think the groom is a commoner or a rich boy?"

"I think it should be from a rich family!"

Because the information is still incomplete, the people could not help but start spreading rumors. Soon after, gossiping became the main activity within the neighborhood and along the streets.

The other media company quickly dispatched crews to check the information. They started to flock to the District Hall to schedule an interview with the mayor. Since the building is still close, the crews could only stay on stand-by and wait for the staff to let them in.

They wanted to get full coverage about the wedding and their patience was running thin...

"I am the first one to arrive here. I should be the first to have an interview!"

"Well, you have no appointment yet! Our boss already called the secretary of the mayor to arrange our interview! So, my team should go in first!"

"EH!! Stop your nonsense and keep quiet! I just woke up and need to write down my interview questions!"

"Bro, whoever tipped Mr. Wang about this wedding is making me crazy!"

"But that stupid Wang actually leaked the information quickly to the public without taking into consideration all details. He really is getting rusty in our field!" one of the reporters spoke to his companion with obvious ridicule in his tone.

"That's right! Soon, we can use him as a stepping stone to gain many audiences! Then, we will become trending and surpass his company!" his companion replied.

"If it was me who was tipped, I would make sure to complete the information before publishing such news! Look! Have you seen any crew from his company? They could not even compete with us to ask for an interview in here!" a staff from a different company joined their conversation.

All the crew outside the building was still laughing and mocking boss Wang. By the time they were given access to enter the building, they quickly fell line for an interview.

However, the procedure of going in and out of the mayor's office required several procedures. They needed to write their names on the visitor's logbooks. The time they arrived and the time they would finish must be registered in the logbook for security reasons.

"Mayor, there are too many reporters. What should I do?" the mayor's secretary asked worriedly when the guard informed her about the reporters.

"Let my daughter handle them. Remember not to offend anyone," the mayor simply answered and glanced at Grace. "Are you ready?"

"As the mayor's daughter and the bride, I am prepared! Dad, Sofia chatted with me last night and she advised me to anticipate such visitors," Grace calmly spoke.

"Speaking of Sofia, I must contact her to express my gratitude! Grace, don't worry about them! Give me the contact number of Sofia," the mayor said and then took out his phone from his pocket.

"Dad, it's fine. Sofia said she is playing games and it would disrupt her if there is an incoming call. Don't disturb her," Grace slowly stated.

"Why can't she pause the game if there is an incoming call?" the mayor stated.

"She mentioned last time that the game cannot be paused. Alright, I'll move to the side," Grace answered and took a few steps. She stood near the door of the office with two bodyguards on her side.

"Lady Grace, if someone will harass you the bodyguards will not hesitate to throw them out of the building," the mayor's secretary stated.

"Secretary Clar, don't worry. Just do your task. I will take care of the reporters," Grace stated.

After several minutes, a wave of reporters was marching towards her. Grace maintained a sweet smile on her face while looking at them.

"AHH... they are here! Lady Grace, be careful!" the secretary stated before she took a sit and looked at the stack of folders on her desk.

"Ms. Grace! Ms. Grace! We need to clarify the details about the news!" one of the reporters instantly called after spotting Grace.

"Please allow us to have a brief interview, Ms. Grace!" the others followed in haste.

'These reporters were too eager to hear everything about my wedding that they even forgot to congratulate me,' Grace secretly thought while listening to the ruckus.

As for the ordinary citizens, they have already considered the first news as the main dish of their talk.

And just as they thought that they have heard the big news, another breaking news on television made everyone dumbfounded...

It was from the segment of their local TV channel that usually appears after a few commercials. Usually, only seniors in the district would pay attention to such segments. And the content of this news was mostly about sports.

However, when the local newscaster announced the headlines of this breaking news, everyone shifted their attention to their TV screen and listened to the newscaster.

"When Power Unites Authority! The groom is no other than the young master of the Lee Family!"

In the hallway of the mayor's office, those reporters who were asking Grace for an interview quickly turned their heads to the small television in the hallway. They came early and waited patiently to have an interview with the bride.

However, the details that they wanted to ask the bride were now announced on television! It only means that someone is playing innocent and was playing them!

"Wait! Why is it that it's a report from boss Wang's crew again? He actually knows the details! Did we come here for nothing?!"

"It seems like that old fox was just toying us! How crafty!"

Before Grace could speak a word, the reporters had already lost their confidence. Soon, they took the initiative to drag their feet out of the building and did not bother to continue with the interview.

Or to be exact, they are afraid to make the mistake of the news that they were quick to withdraw. Lest the Lee family will make their companies bankrupt.

The lady could only see the dejected reporters walking away.

When silence was resumed outside the mayor's office, the mayor looked up at her daughter. He gave a questioning look at the empty hallway. "What happened, Grace? Where are they?"

"Dad, the reporters left on their own will. The second news is already out and they saw it on television," Grace softly replied and sat.

"That is the power of the Lee family. Hehe, daughter be sure to treat your husband well, okay?" the mayor emphasized.

"Dad, we can't take advantage of the Lee family during your official political campaign period. I might not be here to help your campaign at that time," Grace sighed.

"Don't worry. Even if the Lee family avoided the issues about politics, they value family relationships. You will be part of their family. I don't think they will not help me in my campaign," the mayor shook his head and a small smile appear on his face.

Grace did not argue with her father. She started typing in her phone and sent a good morning message to Brent.

With the second news, the earlier complaints against boss Wang were quickly buried by the tremendous reactions of the citizens.

Some young adults who dreamed to date the young master of the Lee family screamed at the top of their lungs.

"IT'S OUR HANDSOME PRINCE BRENT? IS THIS FOR REAL???!!"

"I DON'T BELIEVE THIS! ARE THEY EVEN A COUPLE?"

"MY FIRST LOVE IS GETTING MARRIED!? NO! NO! NOOOO!!!"

Meanwhile, those who were alone in their apartments could only mumble their sorrow.

"I hope this is fake news! Huhuhu!"

"I don't know how to take this news!"

The faculty members and students had just entered the school ground but they were like bees whispering and murmuring about the details of the second news.

Perhaps, only the members of the Chronos squad were not affected by any news. Joey and Stephen sat on the bench near a large tree. They were waiting for Claire and Clark. After their breakfast, the four of them agreed to meet up in the location.

"Most students are so energetic! The school ground is too noisy!" Stephen groaned. He looked at Joey and realized that the man was not paying attention to him. Joey was waving to a group of girls that were walking to a different building.

"Who are those girls?" Stephen asked while poking Joey's shoulder.

"Who else but my fans!" Joey proudly answered.

"Fans?" Stephen winced and shook his head. "You did not even wake up last night. How can you dream of having them as fans?!"

"Tsk! Don't bother me. Listen to the other students," Joey said and turned his back.

"What is there to listen? They are just overreacting towards Brent's wedding!" Stephen whispered.

"Not only it was hard for those students to believe the identity of the groom, they felt like they were experiencing a breakup from their unrequited love towards the young master of the Lee family. Hehe," Joey chuckled.

In any case, this identified groom really held a perfect image in their society that made girls dream of him.

He is rich, tall, handsome, and the squad leader of the wealthy pro team. Nobody saw him interact intimately with any girls. No paparazzi also dared to slander or offend him.. So, nothing could prepare those secret admirers from the news.
