Chapter 237 - Career Focus (2)

Name:Ceo Unrivaled Author:inflict
"In terms of gaming and in terms of career..." Sofia paused and arranged her words so it would not sound as though she was criticizing the female staff. She stared the the lady in front of her with full of sincerity and in her eyes. Then, she continued to speak, "Hmmn... you can make gaming as an official career. Just like me and my friends. There are a lot of ways to earn in gaming. Some gamers sell equipment in RPG games. Others like us, joins tournaments and sponsored matches. Then, you can also have your channel and stream your gameplays... or there are also pilot gamers who are paid to enhance gaming character attributes and stuffs. But if you already have a career, it is not good if you are distracted by gaming while working."

Whilst Jing Jing had known Sofia's character, she did not expect the teen to speak and reprimand the female staff about work ethics. First, the female staff had announced to be her number one fan. She even asked for a picture with her.

But since Sofia had lectured the female staff about her working attitude, the fan might probably change her mind and hate Sofia instead. Not just this, the one lecturing was younger than her. In any case, seniority must also be observed, right?

It did not sounded like a criticism, but the message of Sofia's words came out and clearly meant that the female staff's action was indeed inappropriate. And Sofia even listed the options for her on how she would make gaming as career!

"What I mean is that... it's not good to be distracted at work. I personally love to play, so I kept it as my focus. If you love to play, you would actually enjoy more if you focus in gaming. But, if you love your job, customers might complain to your boss if they saw you playing while on duty. And your job would be compromised," Sofia added after not hearing any response from the female staff.

Jing Jing shifted her right foot uncomfortably while listening to Sofia. She then took a big gulp and peeked at the female staff to see her expression.

However, after Sofia's side comment about her working attitude, she only waved a hand and did not seem to take any offense from it.

The female staff continued to smile and sheepishly replied, "You are so right! Ah, I am so ashamed by my actions. What I did was wrong. Actually, if there is an opportunity, maybe next year, I will also join the pro scene. I'm just playing the game because there is no customer yet. Sorry."

"Phew!" Jing Jing breathed in relief upon hearing the female staff admitted that she was wrong.

Sofia nodded at the female staff and turned her head to look in Jing Jing's direction.

"What do you want to have, sister Jing?" she asked after noticing that her companion was actually tensed.

Jing Jing lifted her eyes and quickly scan on the menu that was on the wall behind the female staff. After a few seconds of reading the lists, she noticed a side note: Only Lemonade is Available.

"Ehem, just lemonade?" she asked to confirm the note.

"Sorry for this. Our supplies have not yet arrived. It will be here soon. Right now, we only have lemonade for our beverages," the female staff answered in a respectful tone. But she was still giving side glances at Sofia with admiration.

"Okay," Jing Jing nodded and mumbled her orders, "Hmmn... let me have an extra-large ice lemonade and wrap me a chicken sandwich please."

The female staff took note of her order and waited for Sofia to speak.

"I'll have a small lemonade. Thank you!" Sofia quickly told the female staff.

"AH! Miss Sofia... Aren't you thirsty? Why...?---" Jing Jing wanted to ask why did Sofia only order a small lemonade. But she stopped at the middle thinking that it may sound inappropriate to ask such preference. After all, this is her employer!

The female staff turned on the other side and started preparing their orders. Sofia smiled at Jing Jing and mumbled, "It's fine. I am okay with small lemonade."

Since there was no line going to the front desk, their orders were served immediately. They paid the amount tendered and strode at the table near the exit area.

"Miss Sofia, you actually scolded the staff! It almost gave me a heart attack! I thought the staff would retaliate!" Jing Jing secretly whispered with an anxious tone. Her hand was carrying a tray that contained her extra-large lemonade and chicken sandwich.

"I did not scold anyone. Sister Jing, why do you say I was scolding her?" Sofia inquired looking bewildered.

"Well, you did scolded her! When you told her that it's not good to be distracted! Poor girl, she even said that she is your number one fan..." Jing Jing immediately answered.

"Ahh... no, its not like that," Sofia defended. "It's because she might get fired if her boss would see her playing. I am just concerned with her job. Since she is our fan. It's my responsibility to remind her."

"Ohh... I see... responsibility... I see, I'll contact boss Wang," Jing Jing stated before she took her seat. She then unlocked her phone and scanned the contacts and searched for the particular number. Once she saw the contact details of Boss Wang, she swiftly pressed the call button and the screen of her phone instantly displayed the progress of the attempt to make a call.

The two of them sat down on the opposite seating and drank their lemonade. Sofia also took the medicine and easily swallowed the tablet easily.

"Sister Jing, just give boss Wang a hint and message him the other details," Sofia suddenly said in a low tone that only Jing Jing could hear.

There was another group of five customers that had entered the café and she was afraid that they might overhear the news from Jing Jing.

"Yeah, it's better not to talk here. Miss Sofia, I know what to do! Leave it to me," Jing Jing agreed while listening to the ringing sound of her device. Sofia nodded and looked at the newcomers as they approached the female staff.

The wedding of Brent and Grace must be formally announced to the public. And it must be done professionally.

Sofia and Jing Jing knew that this formal announcement was necessary to make so that they would be able to control and neutralize the public opinion towards the ceremony. Or at least, they would be able to influence the public to have positive views on it for the benefit of their clients.

Obviously, this was not just a wedding. It was a sensitive topic for the bride and groom have their differences in social status. They may be wealthy families but one family had been low-key of their riches while the other family is a public servant.

If other people would know it before the formal announcement, they might leaked the news and give nasty opinions against Grace or her family for they are engaged in politics.

If such a case would really happened, then it would not do good for both sides: Sofia's business or her clients.

Hence, they needed to avoid bad impact and handle the formality of the announcement using professional means. It was tricky and they were like treading in a fragile bridge. This fragile bridge, would lead them to success. And if they are not careful with their steps, it may shattered and would make them fall.

In line of this publicity, there was other image apart from the two big families that was important to Sofia. And that is the image of her Chronos company. It would be the first official announcement of their business to the corporate world.. They must not make any mistake.
