Silence enveloped the entire dining area as they proceed to examine the contract on the two folders.

"Very well. You paid details on the content of the contract, young lady!" the old man spoke softly.

"Yes, sir. This is the most important part of why I am here," Sofia calmly replied.

The old man smiled and understood what she meant. Their talk would be nothing if she could not secure the contract with her. If she signed a different content of the contract, then, she might lose everything. Her cautiousness towards the documents was normal.

While the young lady maintained her lowered face to gaze at the documents that were laid down on the table, the elder couple secretly packed a box of cupcakes for her. Jing Jing was also reading the other document and did not notice the movements of the elders.

"The contract is exactly what we have discussed," Sofia mumbled as she finished scribbling her signature and motioned to hand a copy to the old man.

But, when her eyes darted back at the elder couple, she saw that they also held an eco-bag and pushed it forward towards her. Both their hands were in mid-air. One was holding a folder, while the other was the pack cupcakes.

Sofia stared at the bag for a brief second and shook her head while understanding dawned upon her. The elder couple is giving her a gift!

There was nothing wrong with receiving a gift. But, in this situation, Sofia felt uncomfortable. If others could see them, it could also mean that the elder couple is bribing her. In which case, Sofia felt the need to reject the kind gesture.

"Ma'am this is too much. You have treated us a lunch. It's enough. There is no need to gift us," she quickly stated while looking at the owners of the house. In her mind, accepting this innocent gift after securing a contract may cause great trouble for her.

"Ehh, don't refuse us, young lady. Here. Here, have some sweets on your way," the old man stated and moved the bag closer to Sofia. His face was full of insistence that made Sofia felt conflicted.

"It's a gesture of thank you for helping us finalize the menu of the wedding in the reception. Take it," the wife supplied.

With much reluctance, Sofia grabbed the bag and smiled. "Thank you for this! See you around." She passed the bag to Jing Jing while her other hand held at the folder that contained her copy of the agreement.

"Right, see you! Take care!" the couple said as Jing Jing and Sofia exited their house. They watched them together until the two get inside the car.

"The young generation is fascinating. What a promising character! Our district will have a bright future ahead," the old man whispered before they also went back inside their house.

"Miss Sofia, congratulations on the first client!" Jing Jing said with a joyous tone. She put the pack of sweets on the back seat and then maneuvered her car and started driving.

"Thank you, sister Jing. Congratulations to us!" Sofia responded. She checked her phone again and started replying to the messages on her chats.

"Miss Sofia, have you seen the post of the Lee Gaming squad confirmation to join the regional tournament?" Jing Jing casually asked. "I thought that the young master of the Lee family would have a busy day ahead considering that he is getting married. But, he actually announced that they will participate in the regional tournament!" she added after Sofia went silent.

"It's a political marriage," Sofia sighed bitterly. She did not need to elaborate further on what it meant. Jing Jing was aware of arranged marriages for the sake of common interest except for love.

The wedding reception and ceremony were not yet even formally announced to the public. This was enough proof for them to believe that the marriage was not the most priority event for the young master of the Lee family.

Meanwhile, in the mansion of the Lee family, the senior master pushed the door of his son's office and barged inside the room. His face was fuming with anger that it had turned into the shade of scarlet red.

"Are you out of your mind, Brent!? You agreed to pay the cost of the reception venue? What are you thinking?!"

With his father's sudden entrance, Brent was startled for a few seconds. He then took a deep breath and calmed himself.

"Pa, it's fine. I've already forwarded the money. Don't be angry. Please take a seat," Brent groaned. When his organizer called him about the cost of the reception, he was also surprised. But, he did not hesitate to pay for the amount.

It was within his expectation. What he did not expect was that his father would get so agitated about it.

"You really lost your mind! Why did you agree to pay 500,000?" his father continued. He stood in front of his son like an ancient mountain. His face did not show any emotion but there was anger and disappointment in his tone.

Brent helplessly walked forward and guided his father to take a sit. "Sofia is my friend and her business is new. I have to support her so she could profit. Besides, the organizer informed me that Sofia offered two options for the cost of the reception venue. It could either be expensive or priceless. So---"

"What does it mean? Do you know her intention for giving this scheme?" his father interrupted.

"Ahhh... according to our wedding organizers, it means... we can also choose not to pay for the venue. But, that's totally inappropriate, right? After all, business is business. Friendship is a separate matter," Brent replied.

His phone suddenly lit up and showed an incoming call notification. When he looked at the screen, Sofia's name flashed on it.

"Look, Sofia is now calling me. Don't be so worried about this trivial thing, pa. It's just money, okay? I'll answer her call first," Brent stated and was about to move away but his father grabbed his hand, completely stopping his tracks.

"Put that conversation on the speaker. I want to hear what that girl would say to you!" his father demanded.

"Pa, don't be like this. I will talk to Sofia alone," Brent insisted and continued to walk away.

His father could only shake his head and glared at the back of his son. "Young people... tsk!" he whispered while gritting his teeth.

The reason why his anger was boiling was not the money that his son agreed to pay. It was that his son acted right away and did not even contemplate his decision when agreeing to the price. Brent had always been very good with his decisions. But today, it disappointed him greatly.

As the senior of the Lee family and the founder of their wealth, he completely understood Sofia's proposal. Expensive or priceless. It was not a choice at all!

Unlike the business organizer who happened to admire this strategy of Sofia, the senior master of the Lee family scorned the idea. To him, it was a trap laid carefully to take their money and gain huge benefits.

The image of Sofia's face suddenly flashed on his head and he clenched his hand into a fist. He slowly closed his eyes as he tried to calm himself.

"The young generation is already this cunning and calculative! How scary and chaotic is the future business competition of this district would be!" the senior master murmured while gritting his teeth.
