"I'm going out," Anton said and stood up. He was worried since the start of the upheaval, but after seeing the danger signal from Wrik, he could not wait any longer. He was about to leave the barrier, but Balat stopped him.

"Hold on," Balat said. "Do you have any plan on what you would do after showing yourself?"

Anton pressed his lips lighter and thought. He actually did not know what to do, but he could not just sit around when Wrik was in danger. "I'll buy time for Wrik to get out," he said and put on the black helmet again.

"Wait for a second," Balat said and called again with the red omega cube. "what can you actually do? You would be outnumbered by hundreds of soldiers."

"I still go to try," Anton said, making a fist.

"There was another way to buy time and you don't have to risk your life." The call finally connected.

"Balat," Rosie's voice came from the device, and it was a serious, alarming voice. "Wrik is in battle with someone, and I'm still too far away to get a clear shot."

"I'm going," Anton said and shook Balat's palm off.

"Hold on, you will only be risking your life if you go now," Balat said, but Anton did not listen and left the barrier.

Balat sighed heavily. He could not leave the barrier as someone else needed to operate the equipment here.

"Rosie, you know Ryat's order," he said in the cube.

"The two lads are the top priority," Rosie said. "I'm releasing the chaos."

The call hung up, and Balat remained there sitting, biting his lips. They would never like to use this emergency plan, but when the situation gets worse, they have to make the hard decision.

. . .

The gauntlet sword was about to pierce his helmet to crush his head. Wrik took a deep breath and released some of the momentum built up through his leg to move backwards instantly.

His body only stopped when it crashed against the other wall on the opposite side. The man was coming at him again and Wrik shouted, standing up.

"Alright, alright, I will give you what you want," Wrik shouted, holding his arms up. "Just let me go."

"People don't listen when I'm just talking," the man said. "Throw away your sword first."

Wrik did and threw the sword before the man.

"Do you want me to inspect you? Or you will do it yourself?" the man said again and looked at the watch in his arm.

"I'll do it myself," Wrik said and put his palm into the pouch on his waist.

"Pull out everything you have if any of the items are left. You are dead," the man said again.

Wrik held up the pouch and brought out the items one after another. First, it was a vial of medicine, then it was another sword.

"Do you think we have all the time?" the broad man said, brandishing his swords.

"Alright, alright," Wrik said and brought out something small that the man could not see. "Isn't this the thing you wanted?"

After saying that, Wrik threw away the small pearl towards the man. And at the same time, he sucked in a deep breath.

His inhaling had not stopped when the small red pearl he threw made a couple of beeping noises. Now even his opponent knew what this thing was.

"Motherfu—" The man could not complete his sentence when the mana bombarded. Though the man succeed to escape the direct impact, he did feel the after-effects. his body blasted away from the aftereffect and it did not end there.

The wall the man-made to block the path was bombarded, and the stones flew everywhere. One large chunk of it hit the man in the chest, throwing him away against the wall. though the man was not dead, he was still quite close to the door. Wrik did not need to waste a moment to bring the man to death as he was already dying, coughing out blood, and his eyes turned lifeless already. So he took the easiest path.

Wrik released all the momentum he built up at once as he inhaled. His vision turned slow and his speed turned outrageous. His body shot like a bullet, and with the slow vision, he saw his sword flying with the impact of the mana bomb as well.

With a jerk of his hand, he picked it up from the air before leaving. He rushed through the circular stair to upwards. He was still about one kilometre underground and with the noises, he made there were bound to be others coming his way and not to mention the other companion of the thief he just met now.

They should be the men of the council or people impersonating as the councilmen to steal the item. Whatever it is, it was bad news for them. They have to come just the day they were stealing the item or today's date was special.

When he was six hundred metres in, he saw a few men on the way. They were a couple of mahasayers with a few more warders holding the spears and shotgun that run at mana current.

They shot at him from the higher ground just by his appearance. Wrik did not dodge. With the help of the shock-absorbing and damage reduction ability of the armour, he did not need to dodge, though only a few of the bullets hit him.

"Oh, shit!" He cursed and saw the large 120mm ammunition they were about to fire. If even one of the things hit him, not even a single one of his bones would-be left unshattered.

But the funny thing was they could not even fire it. Before their heads exploded. Someone else fired from behind them and within a second all of them were dead, including the two maha sayer. the bullets came from behind where they were off guard.

Wrik zoomed in his vision even further to see the one that fired, but he did not see anyone, though he could guess who the person was that took the shot. His leg faltered when he arrived before the 120mm tank ammunition. An evil smile appeared in his eyes as he continued, putting one of them on his back while pushing the tank gun. It had wheels intact with it so it only slowed him down a little, but with the power it held, he found it would be enough even if he slowed down.

He kept his eyes on the back to see if the thief he battled a moment ago would appear or not, but there was no wind of him. But there were again dozens of warders and Mahasayer waiting for him. The bullets fired again, but they could not finish all of them.

Without a second thought, Wrik fired the tank gun, taking in a deep breath. In no way, the warders and mahasayer would have imagined it would turn up like this.

The 120mm ammunition exploded, laundering their bodies like scraps of papers. Though a few of them managed to get away in time, most of them were deader than dead. Even his white armour was stained with the blood. The scene before him was horrifying. Some had lost their entire head, stray limbs could be seen on the path, but he ignored them.

Wrik could finally say the other person who fired the bullets at the warders. It was none other than Rosie. The mature woman with a voluptuous body was laying with a sniper on a higher ground of the underground path.

Now he was only 400 metres away from the range of the teleportation, and with the help of the other tank gun, he had high hopes to make it in time. But it did not take much for hope and expectation to go wrong.

Abruptly, an explosion came from the sides and threw him off guard. The tank gun blew away elsewhere and so did Wrik. After the explosion, a dozen men came from the other path. They had a similar mask like the one he fought before and all of them went for him. Though not any of them looked as terrifying as the male he blasted with the mana bomb, these lots will be more troublesome. They encircled him at once, blocking every way out of it.

.. .

Other than the turmoil in the underground, the above-ground was not in much peace as well.

Anton thought about buying time for Wrik, but it appeared Ryat had a backup plan as well that he did not mention to the new members. Considering what was happening before him, he knew exactly why the bald man did not mention it to him or Wrik.

Men were murdered before him, and it was not the men who were anyway involved with violence.

[The workers are rebelling. I repeat, the workers are rebelling.] An announcement made throughout the mining site. The loud voice through the speaker continued, [Stop them as soon as possible. Warders are allowed to stop them in whichever way they can, including putting them off their misery.]
