At that time, Gu Yan was thinking about to help the assistant find out whether Jiang Jingcheng had a girlfriend. So she didn’t think about the underlying meaning why he would call her Yanyan only outside the studio.

Without thinking too much, Gu Yan urged him, “Come on, do you have a girlfriend or not? Hurry up!”

Jiang Jingcheng stared at her, “I’m now single. What’s up? Do you want to be my girlfriend?”

Gu Yan had already known Jiang Jingcheng wasn’t serious sometimes, so she ignored his words. She thought she finally wouldn’t let her assistant down, so there was a relaxed and happy expression on her face.

While Jiang Jingcheng was more certain that Gu Yan was interested in him when he saw her expression. He was secretly content with his charm.

Jiang Jingcheng thought if Qianqian knew the news, she would be very happy. Then he couldn’t help thinking about calling Chen Qian immediately to tell her the good news. So he said to Gu Yan, “President Gu, excuse me. I’ll go to the bathroom.”

Gu Yan was about to look for a chance to talk to her assistant about what she had heard. Hearing what Jiang Jingcheng said, Gu Yan immediately realized it was a chance, so she nodded and said, “OK.”

Gu Yan quickly called the assistant when Jiang Jingcheng left.

The assistant was keeping an eye on the situation. So when she saw Gu Yan gesturing toward her, she knew Gu Yan had asked whether Jiang Jingcheng had a girlfriend. She quickly ran to the side of Gu Yan.

“President Gu, get some news?” The assistant looked at Gu Yan nervously, being afraid of hearing what she didn’t want to know.

Seeing the assistant’s nervousness, Gu Yan was laughing in her heart. She wanted to make fun of her assistant, so she became serious and spoke slowly, “You silly girl, well, you have to be prepared.”

After saying that, the assistant lowered her head and turned to leave.

When seeing the assistant’s behavior, Gu Yan wondered if she had gone too far. She was afraid that the assistant would cry.

Gu Yan quickly pulled the assistant’s arm and said, “What do you know? I’ve not finished yet. Why are you crying? Don’t worry, you silly girl.”

Pulled by Gu Yan, the assistant lowered her head without saying anything. She seemed to cry if Gu Yan spoke it out. Her relationship with Jiang Jingcheng had ended before it even began, which she thought was the saddest thing in the world.

When seeing her behavior, Gu Yan knew the assistant was really sad. So she smiled and said straightforward, “You silly girl, Jiang Jingcheng said he is now single!”

The assistant responded, with her head lowering down. She turned around and was about to leave.

Gu Yan was suddenly stunned by the assistant’s abnormal response. She didn’t expect the assistant reacted like that. So she wondered if the assistant was angry.

When Gu Yan was thinking about the thing, the assistant, who had just turned around, suddenly stopped and then turned around again slowly. She asked curiously, “Pre… President Gu, did you just say that Mr. Jiang doesn’t have a girlfriend?” She stared at Gu Yan eagerly.

Gu Yan dared not make fun of her anymore. The assistant was nervous. Gu Yan nodded quickly, “Yes, this is what Jiang Jingcheng said.”

Jiang Jingcheng left the box and went to a quiet corner. He looked around to find nobody there, and then called Chen Qian.

“Hello, Jingcheng. What’s up? Why are you calling me now? Aren’t you at the welcome banquet now?”

When Jiang Jingcheng heard Chen Qian’s voice, he couldn’t help feeling very happy. He smiled, “Qianqian, I’m calling to tell you a piece of good news.”

Hearing his words, Chen Qian asked in a hurry, “Good news? Did you succeed in seducing that bitch?”

Jiang Jingcheng choked and then said, “Not yet. But do you know what Gu Yan asked me tonight? She must be interested in me. Otherwise she wouldn’t have asked me that.”
