Chapter 127 - Stay By His Side

"Yingyue, tomorrow you should go and drop out of university," Han Qingshan said, "Mother is going to find a wig for you to use, and then you should slowly get used to being a woman again."

Han Qingshan did not force her. Instead, he found the clothes and handed them over to Jiang Yingyue, gesturing for her to move into the bedroom with them.

As she placed them in her closet, she could not help but feel a slight anticipation in her heart.

She had long since understood that it was not a viable situation to continue living as Jiang Fengmian, but she had been helpless. She had not been able to regain her grades or chase her dream if she had changed her identity back, so she had to stay in a dangerous situation.

But now she had met Han Qingshan, and she could not help but feel excited. He had, at first, arrived as the villain, causing her problems, and made her upset. But after she got to know him, he had become her knight in shining armor.

She looked at the clothes he had bought for her. There were clothes in all styles, and all of it would fit her perfectly. There were evening gowns, casual wear, and even regular outfits to wear outside.

She was tempted to start wearing them already, trying them out, and looking at herself in female clothes in the mirror. But she withstood the urge and shook her head as she gently placed them in the closet.

She was not going to transform back into a woman before she had handed over her resignation at the university.

Han Qingshan was quite curious as to whether or not she was trying out the clothes in the room, but he knew better than to open the door and check it out. If she was truly changing clothes, then she deserved some privacy, but if she wasn't, it would be awkward.

Jiang Yingyue finished placing the clothes in the closet and then she went to the bathroom. Her body was now feeling much better than before; her wound had started to heal up nicely. Also, the stitches were about to be removed in a few days; she had healed so much that she was not even troubled by the wound any longer.

Unfortunately, she was quite sure that there would be a glaring scar just above her hips in the future. She did not mind it too much. It was in a place where people would not see it, so she felt quite relaxed about the whole thing.

After washing up, Jiang Yingyue headed to sleep. She could hear Han Qingshan speaking in the study, so she did not trouble him. She guessed that he was busy with a meeting.

After laying down in the bed, she thought about what she had experienced today. She also started contemplating her own emotions.

She had long been feeling guilty towards Jiang Fengmian because she knew that he would never have approved of the way she was currently living. She knew that she had been selfish, swallowed up in her grief and her inability to manage the loss she had experienced.

But now she had found a way out of this darkness. She trusted Han Qingshan completely. So when he promised to help her, she did not doubt that he would indeed help her return to her own life.

Thinking like this, her heart could not help but flutter slightly. Han Qingshan had become increasingly important to her. In fact, he was so important that she could hardly explain how much he meant to her.

She had known for a long time that her relationship with Han Qingshan was not simple, but she could not help but wonder what she wanted from him.

She had no doubt that she had fallen in love, but was this just a temporary crush or was it true love? She wasn't sure if there was even a point in trying to differentiate between them, as she was not sure if she should act on her emotions.

She understood that they were worlds apart. Usually, she never felt ashamed or frustrated over her background, but now she realized that she was not good enough for the man she loved.

It was harsh to accept, and to acknowledge it was even harder. Her eyes started to sting, and her heart was aching. But she slowly bit her lower lip, forced the tears in her eyes back, and took a deep breath.

Since she was currently Han Qingshan's friend, she would stay as his friend. She would forever be close to him and support him from the side with anything she could. Even if she could not have him, she would never leave him. But she felt that her heart was breaking whenever she thought about how he would one day marry one of the socialites.

Her heart was already feeling as if it would be torn apart when thinking about it, but she knew that there was no other option. Although Han Qingshan had kissed her before, Jiang Yingyue was not stupid enough to believe that he fancied her.

The first time, he let her kiss him for the sake of getting rid of Yu Xiulan, and the second time was when he had been under the influence of the aphrodisiac.

She was still unaware that Han Qingshan previously snuck into her bedroom and kissed her while she was asleep.

She wanted the best for Han Qingshan, so she decided just to enjoy the time she had with him now, and hopefully, he would allow her to stay by his side in the future.
