68 Conscripted

As the group of three prepared to leave the inn Mike suddenly remembered something and sat back down on the bed before he muttered

"...[Blood control]"

Mike then felt the connections he had to his servants, alas he could only strongly feel the concessions he had to Daisy and Snow

'No that's not true… I feel… Someone on the edge…'

Mike then tried to connect to that connection he felt right on the edge…

On a ship heading towards Kely stood a person on the deck, she had red hair and a frosty look on her face, a person walked up to her and spoke with respect

"Mistress, we are about two days from landing on Kely, should you not get some rest?"

The woman spoke with dissatisfaction, she was clearly a little annoyed at this question, as if this wasn't the first time she had been asked the exact same thing, so she answered like she did the last time

"Master is waiting for me, how could I possibly sleep without knowing if he's safe?"

The servant was about to speak up but stopped himself at the last moment, he was about to ask if this so called master was worth so much respect alas he remembered the last person that had asked this and his horrifying fate of being skinned alive before he was slowly boiled and then when he was thoroughly cooked he was fed alive to the dogs, the servant shuddered slightly but his loyalty to his mistress was still at the highest level he just didn't understand how someone so powerful would have to call another person 'master'. At that moment another person arrived on the deck and spoke

"Elina why don't you rest for a bit?"

Elina looked back before she looked ahead again and spoke

"Not everyone is as calm as you Rebecca"

"I am not calm, I just have 100% confidence in master"

Elian's eyebrows suddenly twitched before her skin began turning into a black stone before she tapped her necklace and a black steel armor appeared around her, then she opened her hand and a dagger began materializing which she grabbed before she turned around and yelled at Rebecca

"ARE YOU SAYING MY LOYALTY TO MASTER ISN'T AS GREAT AS YOURS!?"

Looking at the armed and armored Elina Rebecca gave a long sigh before she spoke

"You know that's not what I meant"

Elina took a few deep breaths before the armor around her turned into a liquid and returned to her necklace, she still held the oversized dagger through as she gave Rebecca a strong look before she turned back to looking ahead at the near endless sea before she suddenly trembled and kneeled down on the spot, Rebecca was about to ask her what she was doing when she suddenly felt it too and kneeled down on the spot before both of them spoke out in unison

""Master!""

Back at the inn, Mike felt his skill connect him to not one but two servants and soon two voice sounded out in his head

""Master""

MIke showed a smile before he spoke

"Oh, you're both there… That's good"

Daisy and Snow looked a little confused but continued to pack when Mike waved at them, the Elina's voice sounded out in his head

"Master… Are you okay? How did you escape? Where have you been?"

Mike gave a sigh and spoke

"Elina, I am fine… I am currently on Kely, the northern part"

Then Rebecca's voice sounded out in his head

"Elina you are overwhelming master with your questions"

"But---"

"No but's"

Mike gave a chuckle, it sure seemed like the two of them had gotten more lively since last he had spoken with them, Elina spoke again, this time she seemed to have calmed down a little

"Master we are currently on our way to the southern part of Kely with our own ship, we will disembark and then come find you"

Mike gave a nod, it looked like his servants had not been idle in the past 3 years, given that they owned a ship and all… But that he was most interested in was one thing

"Have you recovered Julie? How is she?"

Then the two of them fell silent, Mike sensed something was wrong so he spoke with a louder tone than he had intended

"How is Julie?��

More silence followed, Mike stood up from the bed and began pacing around the room as he yelled

"HOW IS SHE!?"

Then finally after some time Rebecca spoke up

"...She died, she's dead"

Mike felt his head spinning images of Julie passed through his mind as he felt a headache come on, then his legs went weak and he sat down on the floor while staring into the empty air, he remained like this while tears slowly fell onto the floor below him, tears of blood… Then a strong red light shone in his eyes before he suddenly muttered

"Oh… Is that so?"

"...Yes master"

"I see… Then I just have to revive her again"

Mike zoned out as he processed what he had just said before he suddenly showed a smile and spoke

"That's right, I [Evolved] her so she should be immortal… Do you know where her corpse is?"

"Yes, it's back home… We will take you there when we return to Threa master"

"Good… Well then, I'll contact you guys again in a week"

Mike cut the connection to his two servants, it was only then that he realized that Snow was ever so carefully wiping his tears away, he gave a smile and patted Snow on the head, then Daisy asked

"Master, who were you talking to?"

"Elina and Rebecca, they are like you two"

Daisy's face lit up with joy before she asked

"Oh... That means we have more sisters?"

"Yeah and some brothers too back in Tursk"

Daisy and Snow gave a nod before Mike stood up from the floor

"Well then, let's leave this shitty city after we buy a horse"

"Yes boss"

Soon the three of them left the city, they had a horse with them which Mike had controlled so that Snow could take a break when she needed without slowing down their journey, three days after they left the city however they ran into trouble, they had reached the front lines. The roads were closed so Mike and the other two decided to walk off road and head into the wilderness, in hindsight this was a very poor decision because soon they ran into a sentry that swiftly yelled

"Enemy attack!"

Mike paused, a few thought quickly went through his head before he then threw the knife away and raised his hands, the knife landed in a three and was embedded into it about 15 meters from the ground, then he raised his hands as a group of soldiers slowly surrounded the group of three Mike spoke

"We surrender"

'Sure hope their commander will listen to reason…'

Daisy also discarded her sword club and Snow dismounted the horse and raised her hands, soon the three of them were captured and taken into the camp, the soldiers morale seemed to be somewhat low, soon Mike and the other three arrived at a central tent were a soldier went ahead of them into the tent, after a bit the same soldier came out of the tent again and then he gestured for Mike and the other three to steep inside, inside the tent stood a woman in her 30's, she had long blue hair and wore a tiara on her head, she looked up at Mike and the two servants with a stern look on her face before she looked down at the map again, after some time she spoke

"Names?"

Mike paused a bit before he answered

"Mike, Snow and Daisy"

"Levels?"

"4, 2 and 2"

The woman looked up at Mike with a slight smile before she gestured to the soldiers that then stepped up and put their swords to daisy and Snow's neck before the woman asked

"What are you doing here?"

Mike gave a sigh before he answered truthfully

"Heading south, we are returning to Threa"

The woman gave a slight smile before she spoke

"Welcome to my army then, your companions will be taken good care off as long as you behave"

Mike paused before he showed a smile, clearly this woman intended to use him as a conscript in her war

"...You are going to regret this"

"Maybe, but I need every soldier I can have… Put the two with the rest and show Mike to the other conscripts"

Mike was then escorted out of the tent and through the camp until he arrived at the southmost point in the camp, the direction most likely for an enemy ambush was a bunch of non soldier looking people were gathered, the soldiers gave him a push from behind before they turned around and left with some rather ominous sounding words

"Your companion's lives are in your hands"

Mike showed a disdainful smile and opened his hand as he walked over to the campfire and sat down, when he did the knife landed in his hand, the person next to him passed a bowl of soup to him and a wooden spoon, Mike sniffed the soup before he gave a nod at the person and began eating in silence
