55 A day off

Mike and the rest of the group eventually parted ways with the hammer party and continued killing hobgoblins on their way as they explored the 6th floor, on their way a monster core dropped and as usual Elina used it but she didn't receive a new skill, after a few hours of exploration Mike decided to call it a day, Julie agreed and so the group used a stone of passage to the 1st floor and quickly killed the boss before they made their way out of the dungeon, Mike looked up at the sun and realized that it was only evening so he decided that visiting the temple would be a good idea

'Well that's after we visit the guild and sell the monster crystals…'

Mike and the rest of the group made their way to the guild were Mike was given the task to sell their monster crystals, as usual, the rest of the group waited outside while Mike went into the guild and since it wasn't rush hour he quickly arrived at the counter and put his four pouches with monster cores on it

"One moment please…"

While the receptionist went through the monster crystals Mike zoned out slightly only to be snap out of it when she finished counting and told him the total

"4 lowest quality monster crystals and 89 5th floor monster crystals for a total of 4.550"

"Oh… Thanks"

Mike received the money and took the now empty pouches before he walked away from the counter while thinking

'I must be tired… Maybe we should take a day off tomorrow?'

Mike quickly arrived outside the guild and told Julie of today's earnings before they made their way towards the temple, on the way there Mike asked Julie

"Julie how about we take a day off tomorrow?"

"A day off? Sure"

Mike gave a smile and turned to the three servants

"You hear that girls? You are free to do whatever you want tomorrow, as long as you don't kill anyone that is"

Soon the group arrived at the temple, it looked like any other temple, Mike reckoned that the only difference was that there wasn't a [Paladin] in charge of the temple here, after making Serina wait outside the four of them walked inside the temple and queued up, soon it was Mike's turn after showing his id he was assigned a prayer room and walked down the long hallway until he found it and pushed open the door before he walked inside

'Yup this is just like all the other temples I've been to…'

Mike walked up to the crystal ball and put his hand on it, after it was done glowing with a red light it showed his status

Mike blinked his eyes a few times yet the number didn't change and so after being stunned for a few seconds he mumbled

"Dungeons are the shit…"

Mike thought for a moment and then it started to make sense

'Well, I do have a skill that boosts my experience earned… Wait, maybe Elina and Rebecca have hit level 3 since I have gained so much experience they should have too, right?'

Mike waited for the crystal ball to reset before he walked back out of the prayer room and walked back to the reception hall where he waited a few minutes until Julie showed up

"Hey"

"Hey Mike, how was it?"

"Good, I am close to hitting level 4… What about you Julie?"

"I am about halfway there myself"

"I see…"

The two of them waited and soon Elina returned, judging from the happy smile hse had on her face Mike's prediction had come true

"Master I hit level 3!"

"Congratulations Elina"

Waiting a little more eventually Clare arrived and she soon reported that she was about 200.000 experience from reaching level 3, Rebecca that arrived last however reported that she had hit level 3 like Elina

"Well then, let's head back home"

The group swiftly returned home where Mike asked the details about their classes

"Elina, what's your class name?"

"It's [Demon knight], I got [Shield bash] as my third skill"

"I see… What about you Rebecca?"

"My class is [Demon assassin] and I got [Backstab] as my third skill"

Mike gave a nod before he asked about the details of their new skills, Elina's [Shield bash] had the effect to deal a lot of damage while having a chance to stun a target, however using it required a shield, Rebecca's [Backstab] had a chance to paralyze a target plus it dealt a lot of damage and it seemed tailor made for her since she already had her [Mirage flash] skill that easily would allow her to get behind a target

'Hmm… So Elina is more of a tank while Rebecca is more of an assassin'

Mike gave a nod, it seemed like he was starting to get a proper team together now, next was the problem of raising a proper army

'Well getting stronger first seems like a good idea… Plus there's still the problem with living space and costs… I suppose I could have them living in an inn if I really wanted to start my army sooner, but I think I want a barracks or something like that… We should go looking for the prices of buying a barrack soon, maybe tomorrow…'

Mike thought about forming his army for a little while longer before Julie dragged him to bed and made him go to sleep in her embrace…

The next morning Mike slowly awoke, he was still locked in Julie's arms

'She really is too good for me…'

Mike felt slightly guilty about raising a slave harem while he had such a lovely girlfriend but alas he didn't want to kick the girls out of the house since they took care of most of the work around the house

'They're lovely to look at too… Oh well… Maybe I am a bastard? Well, I am a genocidal maniac that sleeps well at night so a bastard should not be too far away, no?'

While Mike considered his own personality Julie seemed to slowly wake up as she tightened her hug on Mike slightly, Mike snapped out of his thinking and greeted her

"Good morning Julie"

"... Morning Mike~"

Mike felt her hug tighten again since she was hugging him from behind a wonderful feeling spread across his back, but alas he wasn't really in the mood since he knew Julie wasn't trying to be sexy right now, she was just clinging to him out of pure love

'She really is too good for me…'

The two of them laid in bed a little while longer until Julie got a little more awake and reluctantly let go of Mike before she sat up and asked him

"Did you sleep well?"

Mike gave her a kiss before he answered her

"I haven't slept this well in ages"

Julie showed a sweet smile

"I see, then I really must do this more often"

After flirting a bit more the two of them eventually got dressed and went downstairs were the three servants were making breakfast

"Morning girls"

Seeing as today was their day off Mike lazed around in the house most of the morning before Julie dragged him out of the house on a date, the two of them walked around the city while window shopping before they found a cafe around noon and had some food, then they continued walking around while chatting and eventually the topic reached what Mike had been thinking about with the barracks

"...Well anyway, that's my thoughts on the matter, what do you think Julie?"

Julie thought for a few moments before she spoke

"It sounds like a good idea, but won't it be expensive?"

"Yeah, that's my thoughts too… We would need to buy a plot of land and then build our own barracks as I doubt there's a building like the one we need just laying around"

"Hmm… We could swing by the estate agent and ask real quick?"

"... Okay then let's do that"

With their minds made up, Mike and Julie made their way to the estate agent and soon they were standing in front of the same receptionist they had brought the house from previously

"Oh it's you two, what can I help you with today?"

Mike gave a slight smile as he spoke

"We're in the market again, only this time we need something a little more… unique, you see we're thinking about buying up slaves and make them explore the dungeon but we need someplace for them, like a barracks or something similar"

The receptionist gave a nod and flipped through the thick book that lay on the counter for a while before she spoke

"Looks like you're in luck, we have one such building standing empty at the moment, would you like to see it now?"

Mike looked at Julie that then gave a nod before he spoke

"Sure"
