Chapter 905 Ethon's Query

Fiona held Monica's arm and asked with a smile, "Mom, have you been here before?"

"No, I've never been here before. I had no idea such a beautiful place was in City A! Young people like you should come here often!" Monica responded with a kind smile. The two were standing in front of the wishing tree, listening to the gurgling water that flowed behind it. Both felt at peace.

Mt. Cherry Blossom was a really romantic place. Behind the flowing brook was a large fountain. In the recent years it had been transformed into a music fountain. Its show was scheduled at half past seven every night.

"Mom, you're talking like you're old! But you are still young." Fiona felt a lump in her throat when she heard Monica say she was old. What must it feel like to know you were going to die soon?

"Silly girl. Don't joke with me. I'm old enough. If something happens to me, I won't feel sad. All I wish for now is to see the face of my grandchild." All of a sudden, Monica extended her hand and touched Fiona's flat belly. Sometimes, she wished time would pass quickly. But other times, she wished time would just slow down so she could live longer.

"Mom, why do you say that? You will live a long life," Fiona said sadly, like she wasn't sure herself. Her eyes were reddening.

With a face trembling with mixed feelings, Monica smiled. "Silly girl, I'm fine. Don't worry. By the way, is this… Is this the wishing tree?"

Monica pointed at the big banyan tree in front of her. The tree was lush and looked very old. Its branches and roots were spread across dozens of meters. It looked beautiful and enchanting against the blue sky, like something straight out of a fairytale!

"Yes, Mom. People say if you make a wish here, it always comes true."

"Then why are we still talking? Let's make a wish now!" Monica smiled without any hint of sadness on her face. Fiona was in awe of her spirit.

The two of them picked up wishing bottles that were kept in a shelf near th

hey were both adults. Such conversations could never be easy between parents and children.

The last time they had sex was about half a month ago, after they reconciled. Malcolm and Monica had never lived as a real couple.

Over the years, Malcolm had started leaning toward abstinence.

But a few days ago, he had asked Monica if she was up for it. She refused. Malcolm had a feeling Monica was being cold to him of late, but he was too proud to ask her what was wrong.

Malcolm assumed it was because of her period. Besides, his urges weren't too strong anyway.

"Son, why are you asking me this strange question?" Malcolm put a hand on his mouth, his elbow resting on his knee. What sort of a son cared so much about his father's sex life?

"Answer the question first, then I'll tell you." Ethon deliberately created the suspense, so Malcolm would be compelled to answer.

As expected, Malcolm kept silent for a few seconds and said, "I think it's been more than half a month. But we are old now. We aren't very keen, you know."

Malcolm was a proud man, so he deliberately made it sound like it was a problem to do with age.

Ethon put the roasted meat on a plate and suddenly looked straight into Malcolm's eyes. In a somewhat heave tone, he asked, "Dad, have you loved mom in the past few years?"
