Mandy chuckled and said in a sarcastic voice, "All you do is threaten me. If you can have the courage to deal with those who hurt me, I would appreciate that more."

Her words dripped in sarcasm. He kept silent for a moment and tried to figure out what he had done to make Mandy unhappy.

Mandy wanted to hang up the phone at this point. She felt so distant from Nathan. Many emotions bubbled inside of her, but she couldn’t get them out. She suddenly felt uncomfortable and was unable to breathe.

Nathan was able to calm himself after a few moments. He suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest. "Mand, please don’t be angry with me. If you have something to say, please just tell me. When I get back, you can beat me or scold me as much as you want," he said in a soft voice.

"You make me sound like I'm being unreasonable." Mandy curled her lips. Although she had a fierce expression on her face, her heart ached violently.

"You’re wonderful, Mandy! How could I see you as unreasonable?"

"Don’t try to be slick. I’m hanging up the phone." As soon as she finished speaking, she hung up the phone before he had a chance to reply.

Nathan's head suddenly ached. 'What just happened? It took her one second to go from happy to angry for no reason whatsoever,' Nathan thought to himself. Mandy's sudden burst of anger flustered Nathan. He hated it when Mandy didn't communicate with him when she was upset. 'Does Mandy know that Jennifer is still in City A this time?' he guessed.

Nathan’s face darkened. He opened his address book and called Fred, who was in City A.

"Fred, help me check the people Mandy had contact with today. Send the information to my phone immediately," Nathan said in a sharp voice.

"Yes, sir." Fred was immediately alert, and turned on his computer, his fingers jumping on the keyboard.

"Sis, were you on the phone with Nathan just now?" F

id, "Yes, I have. It's quite common, isn't it? Everyone’s been betrayed at some point."

Mandy turned towards Angelina and noticed that Angelina’s face was hazy. Angelina was also a woman who had her fair share of stories.

"Is it really that common? It’s common to be betrayed?" Mandy repeated. She didn’t quite understand what Angelina was saying, but after thinking about her words, it started to make more sense to her.

Today’s encounter with Daniel was one example. Daniel was her first love, and she was his. When they were in a relationship in school, they didn’t care if the two families matched or not. As long as they loved one another, nothing else mattered.

Mandy was naive at the time because she had never been in love. Daniel used a little trick to win her heart. Although Daniel initially approached Mandy with an ulterior motive, Daniel couldn’t help but fall for her anyway. If he hadn’t fallen for her, they wouldn’t have stayed together all those years.

Mandy always thought she would have a happy ending with Daniel. After they graduated and had been working for a few years, she thought he would marry her. After they split up, some men continued to admire Mandy, but she had no interest in entering another relationship.
