Chapter 863 Cervical Cancer

Mandy and Fiona followed the director into the office. There was a copy of the report on his computer. With a nervous look on her face, Fiona rubbed her arms.

The director sat down, entered a few keywords on the search bar, and pulled up the information about Monica.

The three stared at the computer screen at the same time. They saw that the final report confirmed that Monica had cervical cancer, and it was in the advanced stage.

With a shocked look on her face, Fiona covered her mouth with her hand in disbelief. Her lips started trembling against her palm. She looked more nervous than before. She asked in a quivering voice, "Is it... Is it possible that it's a mistake?"

The director shook his head. With a gloomy expression on his face, he replied, "The probability of an inaccurate result with this test is very small. It's conclusive that the patient has advanced cervical cancer. If you don't believe it, you can go to another specialist for a second opinion."

"What's the probability of recovering from cervical cancer of this stage?" Fiona asked, panic breaking her voice. She was trying hard to suppress her emotions that were about to surge up. Shock, doubt, and fear squeezed her heart like icy fingers grasping a stress ball.

"It varies from person to person. It's very difficult to completely cure cancer, but there are ways to prolong life like surgery and chemotherapy," the director answered.

Fiona was stunned and found herself not knowing what to do. She did not expect that what she was most worried about had still happened. Monica really had cancer. She did not want to accept that fact. Her relationship with Monica had finally eased. How could she be diagnosed with cancer at this time?
