Mandy cupped Fiona's cheek and smiled broadly. She felt lucky to have a sister like her.

The two of them felt similarly as if they had reached back to the old days when they still lived in their own house. At the time, they would often sleep in the same room. Their nights were spent talking to each other, sharing their little secrets, watching TV, or playing games together. It seemed like all of that had fallen apart in the blink of an eye when they got married.

Mandy liked taking photos. She often went through those pictures, reminiscing about olden times. These photos were for her the evidence of all things good and bad from the past.

"Sis, do you know about cervical cancer?" Fiona asked.

Mandy frowned. Sensitive as she was, she knew Fiona wouldn't ask such a question just out of curiosity. "What's wrong? Who has cervical cancer?" she asked, alarmed.

Fiona pursed her lips, looking down into her own lap. It had been a week since she had last gone to the hospital with Monica. She wondered how Monica was doing now.

"Last time, my mother-in-law came with me when I had to have a pregnancy check-up, and she suddenly had a stomachache, so I asked her to see a physician. The doctor asked her to do the TCT test. I remember reading from your medical books before ... that TCT is for cervical cancer. I'm really worried about her ..." There was a grave look on Fiona's face. "Well, TCT does detect cervical cancer, but not always. What exactly happened to her that day?" Mandy asked with concern.

"She just had a stomachache. I even looked it

. She had never imagined those words coming out of her four-year-old boy's mouth. The poor boy did not even know what death meant.

Fiona's heart couldn't help but tighten in her chest. She looked at her sister's face. She couldn't possibly imagine how devastated Mandy must be.

Mandy suddenly snapped back to her senses and shook her head. She stepped closer and cupped Adrian's tiny hands in hers. Her eyes were moist, but she tried her best to keep the tears inside. Instead, she smiled and said, "No, my love. No. You will be completely okay..."

But before she could even finish speaking, her tears fell silently onto the bed.

"But mom, I feel so bad. I want to sleep. I don't have any energy. Am I going to die?" Adrian said weakly as he puckered his lips.

Mandy could not even see the expression on Adrian's face clearly. She felt like her eyes were covered by a dense mist. She wiped her tears away. Then she smiled more brightly than before. "Silly boy! Don't think too much. You will be fine. Who told you that you are going to die? You shouldn't think so much! Mom is always here with you..."
