Chapter 856 The Worst Result

"Take me there. I also want to do the experiments," Mandy said after mustering up her courage. Her eyes had lost the brightness they had several days ago.

"But… Do you know anything about bacterial experiments?" Nathan seriously asked. He looked rather stern as he squinted at Mandy.

"I… I don't really know much, but I at least want to see. Besides, I have nothing to do here..." Mandy answered flatly. She hid a faint smile on the corner of her mouth.

"You guys can go now. I'll keep waiting here," Shawn then said. Shawn looked somewhat fatigued, but he still managed to smile.

Mandy fixed her hair. She knew that Shawn did not want to leave the room and was uncertain about leaving the man alone. Mandy felt that there was something different with Shawn that day.

"Alright, Shawn, you can stay here. We'll be back in a minute," Nathan said rather quickly.

Shawn simply nodded his head in agreement, his eyes fixed on the woman on the TV screen.

Ouyang was the head of the whole operation. The man was one of the most experienced professionals in the field. Elizabeth, a new comer, had to assist him. Elizabeth did not hold any romantic feelings for Ouyang, but Shawn was ridiculously jealous.

Elizabeth was naturally caring. Her apparent care for the man did not mean anything romantic. To Shawn, however, it would seem like the two were practically a couple. He had always been complicated. Shawn regretted the day that he agreed to this. He should have insisted on staying at home and having rest.

But Shawn also knew how stubborn Elizabeth could be. It might be becau

Seeing the girl hurting was painful for Nathan as well.

Nathan held Mandy tighter. Nathan propped her head with his chin and said, "Mandy, I don't want to lose our child either. I love Adrian! Just like you, I want him safe and sound. I just want you to prepare for the worst, dear."

Mandy was speechless. She looked at Nathan with a dull expression and muttered, "The worst, huh..."

Nothing could be worse than Adrian's death.

Mandy took some deep breaths to calm her mind. She knew how emotional she could get. She grasped Nathan's arm and asked, "Why do you think Adrian will die? How could you give up on him so easily? Unlike you, I will never give up."

"Do you think I'm giving up? I could not give up even if I wanted to. I just want you to be prepared for anything," Nathan explained calmly.

Mandy pursed her lips tightly and stopped talking.

She knew that her mind was a mess at the moment. She didn't want to invite any negative thoughts into her head. She had always believed that Adrian would be safe and sound.
