Chapter 854 A Greedy Man Is Like A Snake That Tries To Swallow An Elephant

"After all these years your appearance hasn't changed!" Ouyang smiled and bowed his head. He looked sickly because he was still in low spirits.

"Is that so? Thank you for the compliment!" Elizabeth was overjoyed at his words. A woman her age feared aging the most.

After seeing Elizabeth smiling at him, Ouyang had no regrets in his life. He had been dreaming of seeing Elizabeth again after all these years, and now she was standing right in front of him. He spent three years developing this bacteria for her.

After evaluating himself, Ouyang decided that he was a despicable man, however, he could not turn away from his greedy nature. Seeing Elizabeth again, he was still attracted to her.

"You are still so beautiful, but I... I've become so old," Ouyang said mournfully. He didn't know how to continue this conversation.

"People are bound to age. It just so happens that I like dressing up, and I pay great attention to my appearance. That's all there is to it!" Elizabeth beamed.

Ouyang nodded in agreement. He was a simple man and didn't use any skin products even when he was in bad health during the winter. As a doctor, he had studied skin products. He was aware that there were other chemicals in it, so he hadn't used any of them.

"What's the purpose of your visit? Is it about the child? I... I'm terribly sorry!" Ouyang stammered, looking apologetic.

Elizabeth kept silent for a moment and said with hesitation, "I'm here for Adrian's sake. I can't quite comprehend why you would do such a thing. I know that you're not that kind of person! I was shocked when I heard that you were involved in this!"

After hearing her words, Ouyang suddenly had a feeling that things weren't going as he expected. Elizabeth had told him that he was not that kind of man. What kind of man was he in

in. He initially thought that Elizabeth would dislike him for it. He hadn't expected Elizabeth to tell him that he was a good-natured man. He was in shock and was elated by her answer. He had never been one to love in this life. If he could love anybody, it could only be Elizabeth!

"Actually... I need more time. A successful cure can't be developed in such a short time!" Ouyang stated in a grave tone. He wasn't sure if Elizabeth would be able to understand.

"Can I help you in any way?" she asked tenderly with a faint smile on her face.

"May I call you 'darling?'" Ouyang asked with a smile as he bit his lips and straightened up.

"Of course, you may," Elizabeth forced a smile through gritted teeth and replied. She was reluctant on the inside.

"Darling... I know I've been a selfish man. I hurt an innocent child, and I'll take responsibility for it. I had no will to live before I met you, but after seeing you again, I suddenly have the desire to live now. I've adored you all these, and I haven't been able to marry since. I had no desire to marry. It was not until I saw you again that I realized what was truly in my heart!" Ouyang admitted to Elizabeth and gazed deeply into her eyes.
