"Well... We can help take care of Adrian here." Cassie looked around before finally fixing her gaze on Mandy.

Mandy hesitated for a while. She really wasn't in the mood, but she couldn't refuse Colin. She didn't even know how he got in. 'Did Cas bring him in?'

The look on Colin's face seemed to say that he had something important to tell her. Just as Mandy stood up, Nathan suddenly pushed the door open.

Nathan stood by the doorway holding a bowl of takoyaki, which happened to be Mandy's favorite.

Mandy was easily pleased. All she needed was some good food, and she would already be grinning from ear to ear.

However, ever since Adrian had been hospitalized, it was getting more and more difficult to make Mandy smile. Whenever Nathan noticed that Mandy was having a hard time, he did his best to cheer her up. This was why he bought her takoyaki from the snack shop they used to go to all the time.

As soon as Mandy saw Nathan holding several bags of snacks, her eyes instantly lit up. She said softly, "Nathan, you're back."

"Well, I bought your favorite takoyaki!" With a smile on his handsome face, he walked past Colin and approached Mandy.

"This snack shop isn't anywhere near the hospital. Did you buy this especially for me?" Mandy asked, beaming as she received the snacks from Nathan.

"I'm willing to do anything for you. Distance is not an issue. Come on, let's eat. These won't taste as good if they get cold," Nathan said simply.

Mandy intended to eat already when she suddenly remembered that Colin was still there. She placed the bag aside and stood up once more. "I'll eat later. Colin has something to tell me."

The look in Nathan's eyes became colder. He frowned as he turned around to look at Colin, the

rge bags of saline water to infuse through the drip into Mandy's arm. She did the injection herself. Then with a smile, she said, "Mandy, you should sleep. Don't worry about Adrian. He still hasn't woken up. We'll help you look after him."

"Yes. Rest well." A wave of mixed feelings surged in Jamie's chest. After all, he had once loved Mandy. She was tough, kind, and admirable.

When she became a mother, she grew even stronger.

It wasn't until that day that Jamie realized what this truly meant. He turned to look at Cassie, smiling. He had the best by his side, and he loved her more than anything. His feelings for Mandy were nothing but a long-lost memory.

That night, the wind howled as the moon was shrouded by the thick clouds. Visibility was low that night as the dark blue sky veiled the entire city.

Eventually, the rain stopped.

Once the rain had ceased, the air was crisp and cool. The night was blanketed in the haze of the stormy weather's remnants. Under the dark sky, the lights created a beautiful contrast.

Nathan stood on the rooftop in solitude. With his hands resting on the handrail, he looked relaxed under the dim moonlight.
