Chapter 659 Why Is There a Pinprick in Adrian's Skin

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
"What if your Sworn Mother dislikes your Mother?" Nathan asked. He knew that it was hard for Adrian to accept the fact in a short time, so he had to guide him step by step. He couldn't deny it, but Eve had treated Adrian well these past years as his Sworn Mother.

"Why? Mom, does Sworn Mother dislike you?" Adrian went ahead and asked Mandy, his hands on his hips.

Hearing this innocent question, Mandy took a look at Nathan, wondering why he had decided to share these things with Adrian. He was still so young, and Mandy didn't want him to develop a negative frame of mind.

"Adrian, Eve and I had some conflict before. We didn't get along before I was pregnant with you. There are some things that would be difficult for you to understand. I'll make it clear when you grow up, okay? In the meantime, remember your Dad's words and stay away from Eve from now on. Is that clear?" Mandy tried to gently tell Adrian. She did her best to spare him the pain, but she knew the kid would hurt a little from this.

Adrian nodded his head in agreement. Immediately, he threw himself into Mandy's arms, resting his chin on her shoulder and said, "Mom, I know. You needn't worry. I'll turn my back on Aunt Eve from now on!"

Adrian declared emotionally.

Touched by Adrian's words, Mandy returned the young kid's embrace. A glimmer of a smile flashed across her gentle face. As if something suddenly occurred to her, she loosened her grip on Adrian and said seriously, "Adrian, from now on, if someone tries to pick you up in the kindergarten, you must refuse immediately! Except for Daddy, Mommy, Grandpa, Grandma, Fred, and Uncle Serge. Do you understand?"

"Mom, Eve picked me up today. Did she do it without your consent?" Adrian asked, exhibiting intelligence beyond his early years.

Mandy nodded. Conflicting emotions warred within her. She didn't know whether she was happy or sad. After all, Adrian was a

t!" Mandy breathed a sigh of relief. A faint smile appeared on her tired face.

"Alright. Let's go home now." Nathan held Adrian with one hand as they made their way towards Mandy.

The light in the corridor of the hospital was a little dim. With Mandy's hand clasped in Nathan's big and strong hand, Mandy felt revived again.

As long as her family was healthy and safe, she could face anything.

Before they could get out of the hospital wing, a figure stared down at them from above. Colin looked out of the window at the night scene with pursed lips. He looked worried.

Looking from the seventh floor, the traffic looked like a river, and the pedestrians looked like ants. The night was so beautiful, yet there was something heartbreaking about it.

Colin remained silent. Morry came into the ward with a thermos flask in hand. She quietly put it down on the table before she walked up to Lisa's bed. Lisa was sleeping soundly like an angel. After tucking the quilt around Lisa, Morry walked up to Colin.

Colin continued to look out the window, oblivious to Morry's presence beside him.

People came and went. The hospital remained busy with activity despite the lateness of the night. And here they were, just another number on the hospital's guest list.
