Chapter 620 The JN Beach

Name:Billionaire's Gift Author:Rabbit
Nacy punched Simon's on the chest and said, "Since you explained everything to me, I guess I won't be blaming you this time around. Why didn't you tell me all of this earlier?"

Simon feigned an expression of deep hurt. Slowly, he lowered his head and spoke in a quiet voice, "You were angry with me at the time, remember? How was I supposed to explain things to you?"

Nacy chuckled at the memory. Indeed, she was incredibly angry at that time. "Well then," she said, her tone gentle and soft. "From now on, you have to promise me that no matter how angry I am, you have to coax me to listen to you, okay?" Despite finding her absurd antics on that day funny, she now couldn't help but feel guilty about how she had treated Simon. Suddenly, she felt a lump forming in her throat.

"I promise," Simon affectionately said. "I don't blame you, though. Everything was my fault." Sadness and regret was evident in his deep, manly voice. "But don't worry, Nacy," he continued, his voice now comforting. "We will have another child in the future. I just know it. So don't be sad, babe." Losing their baby had been the hardest thing the both of them had ever gone through. They never wanted that to happen again.

At that moment, Simon wanted to be Nacy's rock. He wanted her to find strength in him to move on and look forward, even if it felt like his own heart was being crushed by sadness.

Nacy, on the other hand, was already overwhelmed with grief. Slowly, she rested her shaking hands on her flat abdomen, remembering how she lost her child barely two months after she conceived.

"Our child had no fighting chance," she said, her voice cracking like she was about to weep. "I... I drank alcohol that day. I'm sure that it must have been one of the things that affected the baby. Plus, the doctor told me that my uterus wall was too thin. He also said that because of that... I might not be able to conceive another child in the future..." Her voice trailed off. "Simon..." she whispered, after several moments of silence. "There is a real possibility that I wouldn't be able to give you a child. I know that being a father is one of your greatest dreams, so..."

Simon's brows immediately shot up, and a stern look contorted his face. "That's bullshit," he said, sounding annoyed. "I don't think any doctor has the ability to say for certain that someone will not be able to get pregnant. Especially now that all these advanced medical treatments are available to us. I highly doubt it. Also, if you can't conceive on your own, we can always adopt! The possibilities are endless, baby."

"But..." Nacy faltered. All the reassurance Simon was offering her somehow failed to lift her spirits up.

"Nacy, listen to me. It is okay," said Simo

es while chuckling a little bit. "If you are an ordinary person, I will love you even more. If you are poor, I guess it would depend if you want to better yourself or not. Now, if you have a bad character, trust me—I would not waste my time on you." Mandy's smile was from ear to ear. The question amused her but also made her think about how she truly loved everything about Nathan.

Nathan smiled back warmly. Tenderly, he caressed Mandy's hand that was interlocked in his with his thumb. The two didn't say anything else and just walked along the beach.

As time passed, the two gradually felt the evening breeze. At one point, Mandy's skirt got caught in one of the stronger breezes, and it exposed her fair thighs. She frowned because of the accident, and she became warier of holding her dress down.

When Nathan noticed this, he suddenly stopped and bent over. Out of the blue, he picked up Mandy with one hand around her waist and the other hand under her knees. Mandy instinctively put her arms around his neck to balance herself, making her pink cheeks turn red.

"Nathan, I can walk by myself," Mandy said awkwardly.

"Why are you acting so weird about this?" Nathan asked, seemingly amused. "I just want to hold my wife." A gentle smile flourished on his face as he looked Mandy in the eyes.

One of JN Beach's main attractions was the Love Stone, a stone shaped like a heart that was believed to have come from a meteorite. Rumor had it that if lovers interlocked their fingers in front of the stone and made a wish, their wish would come true.

Nathan and Mandy were just passing by when Mandy caught sight of the long lines leading to it. Because it was her first time on the island, she wasn't familiar with what was happening. "Nathan," she whispered, leaning closer to him. "What is happening over there?"
